The weather here is hot hot hot and I know it aint nothin yet. I will be in the pool tomorrow for sure.

My tomoatos are already looking sad but I think I just need to move the planter. This year I put them in planters so I can try to find "the" spot for them. I still need to get my zuchini in and I hope I am not too late. I am planting them in half whiskey barrels.

So do share the recipe for the tini's and we will all have a great weekend:D ...Sue

And to the rest of you special folks...that make this forum "tic" I sincerely applaud you all...it makes my heart "tic"

so, now I guess I have to share this one last bit...it is about the meeting at our weeding...I hope it don't bore you to tears...but I do want to announce that I still can't believe our friends from the forums came...we feel so honored and blissed...and yes, I married the most wonderful woman in the world...

My last thread for awhile {have to get back to work, ((((HUGS TO ALL))))) }

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
well, for the moi's, it was the perfect day...
The whole week, the future Mrs. moi (from now on will be referred to as mm)prayed for the weather to be around 77 degrees, light breeze, sunny and warm...
she got her wish...
It started out that we got up, moi was calm and collected and mm was a little nervous...then, the gang came for breakfast.
Mr. and Mrs. Alffe had prior engagements so they didn't come. But ducky, batty, kat, Dale, and Doody breath came. (some of them lurks only these days)
We had stuffed French(freedom? LOL) toast and scrambled eggs...
lots of laughter as always...
Batty stayed three blocks from us, and mm needed a little hand, so she volunteered to come help mm out and even drive her to the weeding...
BradHawk (TS chatroom dude) stayed with us but didn't get up until almost noon(he's a night owl and still running on Washington State Time). LOL So he missed the breakfast and then we dashed out the door.
I was running a little late with all the plans because I was going to go earlier to set up the chairs...and then I left the Tiki Torch at the other house that is about 20 minutes away.
So, Bradhawk and I drove to my other(mom's) house and while there, I wanted to show Brad the tree(the big one that was in the movie, "WAR") which is about half a mile down where the other house was...
so, I dropped him off at the tree, went to the house and got the torches and my wedding dress(ok, suit, ties, shoes, blah blah blah).
(up to this point, the only person that knew what I was wearing was merewood (another member of the old SOS forum) because she was my fashion consultant...she took me shopping for the weeding outfit, got me an awesome discount{you HAVE got to go shopping with this woman! She can get discounts like you can't believe! I got a jacket, a nice shirt, pants, belt, two pairs of shoes, about $500.00 worth of clothes for $200.00} she got me sale prices BEFORE the sale(it was next day and she insisted that they give it to me the day before. LOLOLOL) and then I hid it at my mom's house. So, special thanks to my fashion consultant! Otherwise I'd shown up at my weeding in Jeans and Denim Jacket{that I love but nobody wanted me to wear. LOL}))
Then I headed back to pick Brad up and off we went...
the weeding took place at a place called Traditions.
We had it outside of Traditions in the area where there is a beautiful water view with marshes dressing around the banks.
Centuries old live oak trees surround this area and it was simply picturesque...
the breeze was nice and warm and NOT one mosquitoR in sight...not even the nasty sand gnats...
just what mm wanted. (when we planned an outside weeding, mm's number one concern was the mosquitoRs and Gnats...not money, not how it would go, not the weather, number one concern, BUGS! ROFL...)
(during this outing, mm had her shares of troubles...LOL she was a bit rushed by family members and was running amok...but when Batty came by the house, she took over, took charge, got my bride to settle down and out the door and ON TIME, THANKS! Battski!! She also taught my bride how to count to 10 in 5 different languages...LOLOLOL)
But the chairs we've ordered were dropped off about 50 yards from where the weeding would take place...
now, with only about 45 minutes to set up, get dressed, and get ready...I begun to panic...
I looked at the chairs...128 chairs in my head was nothing, but when it was 50 yards away...LMAO....
So, Brad and I ran to the chairs...and because I didn't wanted to get too tired for later, I grabbed three chairs(that is my excuse and I am staying with it. LOL) while Brad grabbed 5 chairs on EACH ARM! and we ran to the other place...I timed it, it took us 3 minutes to do the whole sha-bang...
now I am really panicking...so while Brad went back for more chairs, I had a lightbulb moment and drove the car over to the chairs, and then it made things faster and easier..
so we got the chairs set up, and now it was time to dig the holes for the torches...
Well, ya know, I had planned on bringing a BIG shovel, but in my haste, I'd forgot about it. So when I was at my mom's house, I grabbed a TINY spade...
well, the ground was VERY VERY HARD and the spade barely made a dent, but I was digging at it anyways...but really really panicking...
at this time, the first guests have arrived...I looked at the clock, it was 25 minutes before the weeding...*sweat *sweat *sweat...
Brad took over and told me to go get dressed...
So, I took off to go inside Traditions to go change. Well, as soon as I stepped in the door, Latrice, our weeding coordinator came up to me and said, "MOI, now DON'T panic (what does she mean by that, by saying DON'T panic I AM gonna panic! I already was! LOLOLOL), do you know anything about stereos?"
Well, I do ,some, but at that moment, all I can think of is: I've gotta get dressed so I can go out and get married and I've only got a few minutes!!!
Out of my peripheral view, I can see more cars pulling up and I said unto her, "ummm, some, what happened?"
Latrice's brother, Dre, was the DJ and apparently he was trying to super load the wires and it blew it up. :eek:
So, here I am, trying to think of what to do next. Dre is from Atlanta, Ga. and is doing us a favor because of Latrice(who works with mm; is a nursing student; sings; and really helped us coordinated the events) and I am drawing total blank...
then I said, OK, go shop for a stereo somewhere and I'll pay for it, try and find somebody to go with you...
then I went to change. And I want to mention this particular point which you'll get later...I had to pee really bad, and being so nervous, I peed all over the toilet seat...I ran to the sink to get some paper towels to try and clean it up, father-in-law to be showed up and started talking to me while I had wet napkin on my hand...he urged me to get dressed and showed me the time...I threw the paper towel away and prayed to the toilet gods to clean the stall somehow...
Anyhow, I managed to change and by the time I got out, there were MANY MANY people outside already...people were ON time! LOL
Dre was no where to be found (later on I found out that someone brainstormed for him to go to the BX to get a stereo from there and return it later, LOL) and I walked out the door to greet folks...
speaking of folks, and part of what made our weeding special to us was this:
over half of them were from out of town. mm's family all showed up from Pa, and a lot of her friends drove down from Pa as well.
Then there were special forum folks, from everywhere in the country. Then there was mere who drove all the way from Charleston and her daughter Ry from Hilton Head.
on top of that, there were people of every rainbow under the sun...
we have the whites, we have the blacks, we have the middle eastern, and we have the Asians...
mm has a huge family and friends base while I only had my mom and two brothers...so my mom brought her friends in, they were mostly Japanese but nobody knew the difference. ROFL...
we loved the diversity that was there and from all over the country...we are sooooo very blessed!!
Either way, folks sat and settled...Brad got all the tiki torches in but we never got to lit them...ROFL....
Eldon, a friend of ours played the music on his guitar to settle the guests in.
Then, everyone got in place (or where they were supposed to be) and Latrice started to sing to prelude the weeding...
when everyone was settled and quiet.
Eldon took over and played the "wedding song" on his acoustic guitar while he sang...his voice was soothing and tender that flowed in the soft warm breeze and melodically caressed everyone's ears...
Our Pastor, Steve, headed toward the three oak trees where we would be joined...(the oak trees were formed in triangular formation with the two infront facing us)
my mom and I followed and I sat her down and fall into my position...
then, mm's children, Jenn(her maid of honor) and Brad(my best man), walked down toward the open lane and stopped half way while mm was escorted by her parents.
They met the children half way and exchanged while mm's parents walked toward the front and sat while her children escorted her to moi.
Brad gave her mom's hand to me and gave me his blessings...
the rest becomes a little foggy because by this time, my mind was total blank...
but there were a lot of tissues and tears(happy ones) and somewhere during the middle of the weeding, I reached into my pocket and realized that I'd forgotten to put the ring into my jacket...
you see, earlier, while I was rushing, I had put everything into a bag and it had checks to go to the musicians, to the Pastor. And it also had the ring...and wouldn't you know it, I got everyone's money covered but not my own (_!_)...
so, the rest of the time while Pastor Steve was "mumbling" I was looking at a palm leave thinking that if worse comes to worse, I'll just go and pick the leaves of the palm tree and tie it into a ring around mm's finger...
well, my mind got blanker and blanker and when Steve got to the part, "moi, do jews half a sin, to shower to your communist pride??"
Translated: yo dude, do you have a sign to show your commitment to the bride?"
And I gave him a "just a moment" gesture and walked over to Brad, and whispered in his ear, "Brad, I forgot the ring"
Brad's voice, trembling, "are you serious??"
"Yeah, can you go get it for me? It is in the car and I think it is in a bag somewhere..."
off he dashed and I saw my brother Frank followed him and everyone was baffling grinning(they must have figured it out...LOL)
then I turned to my bride and the pastor and whispered, I'd forgotten the ring...
Pastor Steve then announced it loudly...
of course, the crowd laughed and that was actually a relief.....
then, we said our vows to eachother...mm's was so sweet and wonderful...
Mine was three pages long that entailed my birth to the future...LOLOLOL
but I couldn't barely made it through the whole thing without choking...It was probably the most sincerest I have ever been in my life, and BELIEVE ME, I am sincere most of the time about everything...
somehow, it got done and we blew our boogers and wiped our tears and we walked from the crowd to the reception area with now, OUR children.
They called me "DAD"
We hugged...(tears)
------------------------------
well, the rest was the reception and dancing and people having fun...
it was a perfect day, with perfect friends and family at a perfect place. Even the imperfections were perfect...most of all, I've got a perfect mate for me, for life...
I am ever so honored, and grateful, and blessed to all of the forum members that were there and NOT there...because I know that those that were not there, were there with us...
my dad would've been very happy for me, I think...I only wish he could've lived to see that...
now, the kicker, remember when I've pee'd all over the toilet??
Sometimes during the reception, my brother Frank came over to me and asked if he can drive to my house(since our new house is only 5 minutes away) to use the can...
I asked him why he doesn't use it there, he said, "Some (_!_)hole peed all over the toilet and I ain't gonna ***** there!"
without arguing, I handed him my keys...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We didn't leave right after our weeding. We cooked dinner the following Mon and had a special night with the forum members. To thank them, to honor them, but most of all, to hug them tightly to let them know that we love them...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I leave you with this fairy tale that had came true, for me...because I sincerely believe it now, that fairy tales CAN come true...for any one of us...
to all you special people here at this Neurotalk,I thank you for everything...even when you don't know it, you have helped me and countless others...
til we "meet" again
ta ta for now..
(((((BIG HUGS)))))
Alffe 05-12-2007 06:12 AM
I thought you said you "drove over" the chairs. :D
and his vows really were all about him...three pages worth. Absolutely charming although some of us were rolling our eyes thru the tears. I did think to myself...he's never going to have to talk to her again...he's just said it all. :D
Wren 05-12-2007 07:10 AM
I said "Thanks" to moi because it's so beautiful and so wonderful to read something like that.
What a way to start the day :hug:
