Happy Saturday Everyone!

Went to 2 parks with my sister and niece this morning and just sent them off to the pool. I told Anya (my 2 year old niece) that I needed a nap and that I was pitiful. So now she is going around saying "Barbara is pitiful." She really seems to like the word pitiful I am taking them back to the airport in St. Louis tomorrow. Another 300 miles of driving. She seems to be homesick. She keeps asking where here daddy is and saying that daddy is sad and that he misses here. So it is good they will get back for Father's day.

I am pretty tired , but I think I am just having allergy problems instead of a cold.

I tried to catch up with some of the posts, but I think I am going to give up and start anew.

hi guys and gals!

still in recovery-mode from big excursion Monday...

seems like it takes longer and longer to get over these trips?

my daily animal chores are done, and I'm relaxing... tomorrow's some lunch company, which is exciting.

see, it's basically just me and hubby on this 6 acre farm, at the back edge of beyond.

no TV, no theater, no movies, no opera, or ballet, or parties, or carpools, or school field trips... just... morning and evening animal-feeding chores, and in between, making jam, and bread, and selling eggs and free-range chickens to neighbors, and picking mangoes and oranges, and stuff...

our only regular visitor is the guy who helped build our house, he's now helping us put up a emergency hurricane shelter for the animal babies...

so, life is very slow-paced, mellow, quiet, and non-stressful... which most of the time I really like...

BUT... sometimes socialization is nice...

so, tomorrow one of our friends who lives about an hour-and-a-half away is coming to visit, so see our house, garden, and trees (avocado, lime, cashew, coffee, papaya, banana, and pitaya (dragonfruit) that we just planted last week.

I decided not to stress this time, and got a neighbor teen to come over, and sweep and mop and de-cobweb the ceiling.

so, all I have to do tomorrow is give a tour, and then relax !!

Kay, the more I hear about your life in Belize the more I want to live there!!! It sounds wonderful!

P.S. Your animal babies are so fortunate to live there!

Good morning all Waiting for the coffee to brew so I can wake up this am.

My tiger kitty is taking her position as my protector very seriously. She was in her "guard kitty" position on the bed next to me when I woke up this morning, lol. She almost looks like the sphinx from egypt.

Got some projects done yesterday, now to tackle a big one today doing a little at a time.

Have a great day all.

they might not think so, later, if they end up being featured on the dinner menu...

Kelly, if you ever get tempted by this idyllic paradise, repeat the following list:

fire ants, army ants, leafcutter ants, swarming termites, flood flies, mosquitos, chiggers, sand fleas, vampire bats, poison bufo toads, tarantulas, boa constrictors, coral snakes, tommygoffs (fer de lance, extremely venomous), jaguarundis, jaguars, ocelots, margays, possums, skunks, anteaters, and howler monkeys galore.

if you can get through the list without having a fit, then "Come on down!"

lol Barb, me and my kids used to deliberately mangle lyrics for our group sing-alongs.

for example, Double Vision, by Foreigner, or Help Me, I'm Fallin' by Joni Mitchell.

but... our family favorite was this oldie, by Linda Ronstadt:

Poor, poor pitiful me
Poor, poor pitiful me
Oh, this MS won't let me be
Lord have mercy on me
Woe, woe is me

Kay, why do you live there? Remind me again? lol

Happy fathers day to all our men celebrating today. The boys are bbq'n for Jim today.

Frank, Wiz, Barb, did you guys hear that wind storm come through about 7am? It was so strong I woke up and stayed up. I was out in the mess taking down my swing cover. No way could we sleep with all that going on. My trees were practically touching the ground. Yikes! I hear another is coming through this afternoon.

finished homework for one class yesterday - all ready to write the paper for the 2nd .. then debate about taking any finals yet today .. (I have until thursday) ..

I wish I could twinkle my nose to move everything to the new apartment ... going down to check 2 out ... I will load the car tonight, so all I have to do tomorrow is get cleaned up and hit the road ...

have a great day - and happy dad's day!!
