Frank, that is so awesome that they came out to help. What a blessing!

Sandy, sorry to hear about your mom's situation.:hug:

Barb, Thank goodness for the break in the heat! It's supposed to be cooler and nicer tomorrow here too, and I hope I can get some yard work done in the morn.

Julie, hope the headache goes away soon.:hug:

~~~~~~~
Debating on a nap, LOL. Just did a couple of things and I'm tired right now. Maybe I'll just curl up with a good book and see what happens.
Got an eye appointment tomorrow afternoon. May need new glasses again, sigh. Oh well, at least he's a good doc.
:grouphug: to everyone.
Thanks for the well wishes everyone.
Frank - You have been blessed with some awesome people. That is just fantastic and I am very happy for you.
Sandy - It's pouring here but it's only rain. I am so sorry you are getting poured on. I hope things work out the best for your mom and that Jim starts feeling better soon. How long has he been on Levaquin now? I know that it took me about 3 days to feel any better when I took it for my sinus infection. I wonder if it is a slower acting antibiotic but more effective. Once I started feeling better I have done fine since. I hope the same holds true for Jim.
Fin - I hope you took the nap. That would be my 1st choice. lol.
Barb - Glad you got some work done. It feels great to accomplish something doesn't it.
Vonn - Glad you are settling in to your new place. We want pictures - especially your view of the lake.
Hi everyone else! Hope you are all doing well this evening.
Oh it is pouring out right now. I had to shut my computer down and am using DDs laptop. DD18 is working and DD16 is going out to dinner with her dance team. :( DD16 doesn't have much experience driving in a monsoon. The news is saying that we are going to get from 1 to 4 inches of rain between now and 8:15 p.m. YIKES! High winds, flash flooding, etc. I just sent her out with a list of instructions. lol
hey Tricia ... enjoying the breeze now and watching the sunset ... looks like a rainbow on it's side ... red on bottom, then orange, yellow, green ... blue and deep deep purple ...
that's the best I can do for now ...
just not doing good today ... I'm trying to organize everything, have to get rid of alot of stuff ... and, I'm just overwhelmed and discouraged ... want to cry ... I feel like I'm 'in the way' .. just an excess of a life-form ... just existing ... :paperbag:
sorry ... that was my insight ... more of a rant :(
patience, my leetle grasshopper...
deep breaths, you can get through this, just a little more time, and you'll have your nest all arranged to your satisfaction.
ask me how I know?
because I STILL haven't finished moving or decorating, and it's been months.
but I no longer whack myself over the head because I can't ZIP through things like I used to.
my other problem is... I'm really a nut about having everything in its place... partly because I like things *neat* and partly because otherwise, I can't easily FIND stuff when I want it, if it's not logically put away.
for instance, I can't STAND there for a long time hunting for the book I want on the shelf, so I solved that by alphabetizing the books by author's last name, and by type... and now it takes only a few seconds, which is good, because otherwise I'd just give UP, lol !!
and it took me half a YEAR to sort stuff in 2004, when I moved.
so, don't feel down or sad... just allow yourself to take ALL the time you need, to do it right, and get everything the way you want it.
love and hugs, from your jungle pal, up at 4 am due to a noisy storm.
Thanks for the idea to organize books, Kay. May help at my house.
Of course it's time for the "what don't we want to keep" look through. Our books are taking over the house, and we're going to need more bookcases soon. LOL, the downside of having two bookworms living together. :D Luckily, there are places that take used books, so just need to box them up.
LOL, when we moved into the house five years ago - we gave away five boxes of books during the move. It put only a small dent in our collection. :eek:
CayoKay 07-23-2008 08:04 AM
two bookworms, LOL !!
I totally get you on that one...
before we moved in together, *I* had 3k books, and *he* had 2k.
now, we have only 500, together, and feel VERY pared down.
:D
Finny, there's just five sections now, animal husbandry/homesteading, sci-fi, popular novels, and cookbooks.
Good Morning everyone! The following is a confession from a book addict:
Books are taking over my house too. I give most of my paperbacks away to my my mom and sisters and yet books continue to multiply. I now have a bookcases in every room of my house(including cookbooks on a shelf in the kitchen); two in my living room, and I am running out of space. Plus, I am tired of dusting them. I am hoping one of the local groups will have a booksale soon and I can donate them to the group. I know I am not going to reread most of these books, so why do I keep them? We do not have a used bookstore here. If we did, I probably would just buy more books.:D
barb02 07-23-2008 08:13 AM
And I did not even mention all the books in my office at school.:eek:
