DH and I toke my mom to dinner last night, :( she's just a shell of who she use to be.
She shakes all the time now, she's always shakes when her blood sugar was low so I was hoping that's all it was and after she ate it would get better. Last night it got worst after dinner. :confused:

what does shack mean???
sorry it wasnt fun to see your mom like that....I know tough...hugsssss

Well I havent bought a book in years, just many books from the past...when we lived in Boston area hubby worked for a book publishing company..and when extras from a shipment the workers could pick some they wanted...so lots of education books...lots of kids books...and encyclopedia type...and all...we weaned out some when moved here...but we love books...I should wean thru some as the kids dont use as many as we have...but hey variety....hehe

I am thinking of walking the little ones down to the beach, if my 13 year old is interested...so we can sit the two little ones to play in the sand..and relax with the cool breeze that is always on the lake.....we should get down there more often..in walking distance of the beach....but life is busy....today though think we will...as Ciara the 3 year old is asking to go to beach and take buckets hehehe...

otherwise just chilling, usually hubby and I are off today and tomorrow...but he is working tonight and tomorrow night...so he will be off thsi coming weekend..he is golfing in a tournament with my father....then Sat night hubby and I are going to some show out at casino a comedian.

So I am off usual days, then work this weekend...as usual....but will be nice to get out sat night.

We leave in few weeks to florida...so soon gotta start getting ready for that....maybe bring a body bag for me...since the heat might be a killer...hehe

Well gonna get going, snuggle Ciara..and soon wake the baby...she is STILL sleeping at 10am..bugger...hehehe hugssss,sarah

Julie, Sorry to hear about your mom. :hug:

Sarah, have fun with the kids today.

~~~~~~~~
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who wonders how books seem to multiply, LOL :D
Of course, it's worse when the bookworms have different tastes. Most of my faves are fantasy based, hubby's are military based like Tom Clancy.
My update: I'm trying to wake up enough to go outside for a little while. My butterfly bush is taking over my porch!!! I never saw another plant that seems to thrive in the heat. At least it attracts butterflys, so it's worth it ;)
Then off to eye appointment. Making a list for the eye doc of symptoms I want to discuss with him. Most troubling has been problems with going from light to dark. sigh.
Have a great day all. :grouphug:
thanks, Kay ... your "leetle grasshopper" is better ... I got a call from a friend last night and we laughed about what we did over 20 years ago when in the Army (we were stationed in Colorado Springs in 1988) .. so, we toured the Royal Gorge and Pike's Peak ... LAUGH! OMGosh .. .I sure needed that ...
the water is getting shut off at 10am (45 min from now) ... but, I'm good - showered, having my coffee with Jenn, and some water for later ...
I guess a part of me is scared - not having an income, and got an email (in my spam from my ex-landlady) so I deleted it without reading it ...
I should be thankful - the maintenance guy came by yesterday and I now have a 'higher' shower head, a knob on the bathroom drain, he tightened the toilet (a bit rocking), and a new stopper for the sink in the kitchen ... AND a parking slot now .. no more 'visitor parking' ..
3rd week of classes - still As ... and great comments from the professors! whew!!
finally getting to the unfinished projects I can get working on ... and found my postcards ... so I can start on them too ...
oh, did I tell you that I received a 3-page letter from the 'disability management people' from my old job from reviewing my appeal I did in February (yes, it was dated July 3) ... and they denied me because I have a brain ... this is what they wrote:
"An MRI of the brain done on April 4, 2007 showed multiple white matter lesions bilaterally highly suggestive of a demyelinating process. An MRI of the cervical spine showed a most significant abnormality is an enhancing lesion, which is on the spinal cord to the right of midline at the level of the inferior endplate of C4 extending to the level of the C5-6 disc."... then goes on to say "There is a mild depression upon the cord at C5-6 and C6-7 as well as mild bilateral neural foraminal narrowing. There is also disc bulging at C7-T1, T1 to T5-6 without evidence of encroachment on the neural structures. It was felt that you have multiple sclerosis and you were treated with five days of IV steroids followed by an oral prednisone taper."
don't want to bore you with anymore ... but its just that this is all on my records and this 'appeal person' .. ONLY a consultant and here is something else: "you were disabled for the period of March 19,2007 thru May 20,2007 due to the acute flare of the multiple sclerosis; however, the medical did not support that the disability continued after May 20, 2007."
well, DUH - I had no money to go to the doctor anymore!! and my whole life was turned upside down with the heat, exhaustion, stress, and now with continual pain in my hip/legs .. and numbing/tingling all the time in my hands ... so "You were not considered disabled under the plan and benefits were denied." ... although after a year, my PCP doesn't want me returning to work ...
it's like no one believes me - and that I'm just making it up so not having to 'go to work' ... and 'trying' to get benefits ...
that's why I was so yucky yesterday afternoon ... as tho I'm not trying - and I'm trying to listen to my body AND my doctor ..
thanks for listening .... I'm just shaking ... trying to do something (at my own pace) .. oh yeh, they even brought up that I'm making $$ from my book I wrote (well, I made $26 last April, and $9 this year) ... what an income! and they commented about preparing tax returns ... so I should be able to WORK a real job .. duh! I've been preparing returns for 25 years - I enjoy this ... and I KNOW who my clients are!!
okay ... sorry about the long post ... hope everyone has a great day!
typo, I meant shake, I haven't sleep much this past week. :rolleyes:
Vonn - I am sorry you were denied. How frustrating for you. However, I had to laugh a little on their comments. They are so ridiculous! Apparently, they seem to think that MS goes away like a bad cold. LOL. I know they are just trying to weed through the people who abuse them and are always in hopes that one would drop it and not appeal. It seems that once one hires a lawyer, things get approved much easier. Hang in there!
Books? Did someone say books? I used to have a ton of books. But then I realized, heck 1/2 of these I will never read again, they are taking up space, collecting dust which means more housework for me. So I brought them to a used bookstore that you can either trade or they give you cash for. So I traded them. (I did keep any book that I knew I would read again as well as any reference books). I still have a bunch of store credit coupons. The coupons are great as we can not only use them for books but for CDs and movies.
I hope everyone has a great day. I'm off to play a few games and then back to painting.:D
sabimax 07-23-2008 10:24 AM
oh shake...ok thanks...and sorry you are on lack of sleep....thanks for teh typo update...we all make many of those...oh I spelled the wrong..hehehe hugsss,sarah
Vonn07 07-23-2008 10:36 AM
thanks, Tricia ... I actually laughed too ... and decided to keep the 'stupid' denial ... and see what SSDI now says (still waiting from the 3rd appeal I made in April) .. and my own PCP is concerned (last month) about my progression (getting worse) than when she seen me in October for shingles and the first time last March!
sure - I didn't like my job .. brought on ALOT of stress ... and I asked (during my LOA) to transfer to another position - and THEY wouldn't do it! and then terminate me saying that 'I didn't try to return to work' .. duh! why should I *try* when my doctor says not to!
sure, the cool wintertime was good for me, but with the increase of sx - my doctor has been voicing her support of me NOT returning to the job of anykind ... (uh, she's the one that WENT to medical school and HAS personally talked with me and has SEEN me!) ...
books?? I downsized alot .. BUT kept all my Civil War books and autobiographies of the First Ladies (before Jackie Kennedy) ...
just pounded somemore nails in the wall to hang my plates ... 10-12 (coffee and side plates) done, and 12 dinner plates to go! have 2-3 serving oval platters - but they will go on stands over the cupboard ...
