Kay,

I'm so glad they caught the murderers. I hope they punish them severely to deter that from happening again in your community.

NaeNae,

Sorry you're feeling under the weather. I hope you get help soon.

Vonn,

I'm so happy that you finally have a nice place to live.

Barb,

No bad storms here, they seem to go north and south in our county (knock on wood!)

Hi to everybody else, love to hear about your daily lives. It's so comforting somehow.

About that cake I made for Sunday... It was RICH, so I'm glad it's gone. The boys took most of it home with them. I rarely ever bake anymore, except for DH's birthday and DSs' birthdays. Also, to take a dessert to pass at the holidays.

DH and I are on the heart healthy diet with low saturated fat, lots of fresh fruits and veggies, lean chicken and fish, whole grains, etc... The good fats are EV olive oil which DH cooks with, plus we have fresh avocado in our salads five nights a week. It takes awhile to get used to it, but now it really tastes good.

It took awhile to get DH agree to start eating this way, but now that we do, we both feel better. Since cancer and heart disease run in his family, and high blood pressure, type II diabetes and autoimmune diseases in my family, we had to do it to protect our health.

Frank, We use Smart Balance too, I love it! Their peanut butter is yummy too, and so good for you!

Today I did the push mowing outside, since it was my day off. DH does the riding part. I also pulled a few weeds and trimmed some tree branches. I slept until 11:30am, vegged until 3:30, then did my work. I'm sitting here vegging again now. So, at least I got something done today.

Good morning all Hope everyone's doing ok this morning. I'll share my coffee if anyone needs it.

I can't wait until hubby gets home. I have not been sleeping well this week at all. Not sure if it's because he's away or because of something else. Ah well. I keep on a trucking.

Off to do some running around here soon. Take care everyone.

Hey Jenn .. having my coffee with you ...

waiting to hear about moving in today ... and getting my internet set up at the new place ...

that's about it ... and get the sewing machine roaring and paintbrush swishing ... and still downsizing ...

hope everyone has a great day ... going to be a scorcher here - so I have to take it a bit easy with the moving!!

Good Morning everyone! I am off to a doctor's appointment in a little while (think I may have a sinus infection) and then I have a Weight Watcher's meeting. I did not do too well this week. All of my MS symptoms seems to have intensified. I feel like I am being stabeed in my upper leg everytine I walk.

Vonn, Hope the move is going ok. A view of the lake sound wonderful. I love to just sit and stare at water ( lakes, ocean), but for some reason staring at my bathtub does not work

Jenn, Keep that running to a minimun.

Hope everyone has a good day!

It's been awhile checking in for me. I've just been reading lately. So much is going on for all of you.

I'm so happy Vonn got her lake front place (that's the one I was rooting for!).

Kay - I'm so glad they caught the bad guys in Belize, but so sorry you had to deal with that.

Renee - I'm so sorry about the pain and the crappy health care choices you have now. Is it possible for you to get some steroids to get you through? I don't like taking the roids, but they are cheap, easily available and have always helped me a great deal. Even if you can't get an infusion, you could always do the oral in high dose or even get the liquid solumedrol and do a smoothie like some people do.

OK that was all my brain could retain of the pages I just read. Those were the things that stuck out in my mind. Everyone else seemed to be doing OK from what I could remember.

Speaking of remembering things, that isn't going so well for me. I'm actually getting a little bid scared about how bad my cognitive function has become. I just cannot keep track of anything and I don't have time to figure out how to revamp things to make it easier.

You know the old saying that goes something like "if everything is coming at you, you are in the wrong lane"? Well, that is my life right now and I'm getting kind of bitter. I sit here and try to figure out what I am doing wrong because things just keep going bad. I figured that I have ticked off the universe in some way or another.

I am having serious financial issues right now that stem from a couple of years worth of bad life events. Every time I think I am starting to make headway toward digging myself out, something else happens.

Yesterday, my husband's car died. It is repairable, but the cost is something mind blowing to me. It's his transmission and the estimate is somewhere between $1,600 and $2,600.

This stupid car isn't even that old - it's a 2002 and only has ~ 90,000 miles on it. I have had cars with 150,000 miles on them without having to have a transmission rebuilt. Maybe I have just been lucky up until now, maybe this is normal for this age / mileage, but I'm kind of really ticked off at Chevrolet right now, though.

The part that really sucks is that the car isn't even paid off yet. We bought it off of my brother when he was stationed in Korea and then Japan, so we have only owned it for a couple of years. I don't see any option except to bite the bullet and get it fixed, but that just makes me want to cry more than normal.

I love having my Grandma living with us, but I won't lie and say that it is all easy. There are days when I feel like I'm walking on egg shells and there is a lot of stress with trying to get everyone adjusted to this. I'm having some behavior issues with my boys between lack of routine due to summer and adjusting to sharing a room again and just plain old jealousy of my attention being so divided.

This would be hard for someone who is healthy and not dealing with mind blowing fatigue and spasticity. I just wanted to run away the other day. I'm sad, tired, stressed out, scared about the future, and just generally feel like crud.

Holly, I know what you mean !!

some cars seem to be more shoddily made lately.

one doesn't EXPECT the tranny to croak when the car's only a few years old.

ESPECIALLY if the suckah ain't even paid for yet...

that's gotta be supremely frustrating, as it seems to happen AFTER the warranty runs out... argh !!

and that's a big part of why we got a 25 year old diesel Mazda pickup.

'cause it's mostly things we can jury-rig and repair ourselves, with parts cannibalized from other old junkers.

You know what? If the car had been older, DH could have fixed it! This one has some sort of fancy electronic transmission that almost no one will even touch!

yep...

that's what I was referring to...

the electronic stuff.

I think of that every time I struggle with the manual window cranks.

and in Belize, there's *seriously* no-one trained in vehicle electronics repair, and parts are simply not available.

Thanks for the good vibes concerning DD's upcoming trip to Mexico. DH and I could never pay for this trip ourselves so I always figured if Someone else provided the money then she was meant to go. There is no doubt she is supposed to go. I'm really okay with her going but as her mom concern does creep in from time to time.

Von- Congrats on the new digs! I'm sure I would spend lots of time watching the sun dance on the lake. Have fun crafting. I really miss being able to do my thing. Need to get my studio mucked out.

Sandy- I'm sure you will enjoy the shade from your new awning. Another UTI for Jim? Not fun.

sabimax- Glad to hear your little one is feeling better.

FinLady- Sorry to hear about your internet. The gremlins seem to be working overtime here. I've got a big project I'm struggling to get done too. Glad you are seeing good results. That always helps to keep me moving forward.

ewizabeth-Good for you and DH for trying to eat healthy. My gluten free diet took some getting used to be the results are well worth it to me.

barb02- Summer cold? Not fun. Hopefully it won't stick around long.

hollym- I hear ya on the money issues. I could just kick myself for some of the really stupid things I've done in the past. Well no use doing that or crying over the spilled milk either. Grrr. I'll climb out of this hole eventually and so will you. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Here is a . If you don't need it with all you have on your plate I don't know who does.

And now for me- Morning is just about gone and I have nothing DH would say is good to show for it. Need to come up with a plan for the afternoon that partly makes up for this morning. Got some ideas... off I go...
