night before last on the news here, they had a segment about a lady that started a styrofoam recycle center in dallas. they can't do food containers, but the type that stuff is packaged with.

they get truck loads from companies and the public can drop off too.

Yeah, I've gotten them from the post office, from a group who sent out a sample CD (called the Teaching Company), and other CD's. No one is going to want them.

If you put them in the recycle bin our garbage company just takes them out and throws them on the driveway. They only take a few items, not all types of stuff.

So far all the companies we've used in the last four states only took certain things. Even if the item said recycle, they won't take it unless they can recycle it.

I'm going to take Curious' idea and put them in a bag and keep them till I have enough to mail in.

Don't you wish you could mail them back no postage?

LOL, I do. I hate junk mail.

Some one from Goodwill wrote our paper asking people not to drop stuff off unless it's useable. They end up spending time and money throwing it away. Just so ya know.

Tootsie, the Circuit City idea was good. I wonder if all the tech/office type stores do similar things with recycling. Worth asking.

I am not ignoring this thread; been away for a few days (Georgia).

I think that many of the tech/office supply stores have recycling centers because there are places that take the stuff "IF" there is enough of it.

For us it's hard to generate enough of it, but if a store does it they can get a box full pretty fast. That is if people pay attention.

http://www.the-dma.org/recycle/Recyl...Consumers.html

Above is a good site about recycling.

This is my 2008 resolution; I'm going to get better at recycling and repurposing.
