Confused Family question

Moral question:

My hubby, kids and I are going to San Diego for a week.

My dad's family is in California (Los Angeles area). We were going to leave early Saturday and stop by for a few hours before going to airport. (yes we are departing from LAX).

Is that rude to only spend so little time with them? My G. aunt had asked if we can come the day before and stay with her...so we have more time. (Sleeping on floor) hELP!!!!!

I dont really know them. Last time I saw them I was 2? (37 years ago). My parents are both deceased. I only have my Aunt (dad's sister) in Ma. and my brother and his family back home in Jersey.

Dont think my hubby is very excited about this. But he has dragged me to various family dis functions.

BTW: I has MS with lots of bone pain recently. My hubby has a hernia. My 4 year old has mild autism....plus he and his brothers are very high strung.

Thanks for the input!!!!

I'll make it simple for you. No moral dilemma whatsoever. You have to do what's in the best interest of your family. Your WHOLE family.

Sleeping on the floor is not in the best interest for someone with your health problems, and your hubbie's health problems, let alone what it might do to your daughter's stress level.

You simply explain that you have made the arrangements and only have a few hours to spend with the people in question.

This is your great Aunt you were referring to?? Buy a little present for her. She will appreciate it.

Go and do the visit, make a fuss over her, give her the present, make her feel special. That's really all anyone wants.

Then get your little family together and head on to wherever you are going.

Don't feel guilty because you have nothing to feel guilty about.

Take care of YOU, YOUR HUBBY AND YOUR LITTLE GIRL.

I hope you enjoy San Diego. It's a beautiful place.
