When I was around 10, my parents went away for the weekend. Naturally, my teenage sister decided to throw a party - just her friends though. As parties like that go, things got out of hand and this tiny house was PACKED with people - cars and motorcycles everywhere outside.

The next morning I woke up to find bodies strewn all over the house. As I stepped over them, I looked into their faces. Their look and the way they were positioned made me think of mom in one of her "horrible" times. It was the first time I ever saw anyone choose to do that to themselves for entertainment or want to look like that around their friends - or strangers like me.

I woke up my sister and asked why so many people came. She told me, "Word got out that Styx would be here." They were a local band around here.

After everyone came back to life and most people left, my sister and her friends took me out for breakfast. It was an appropriate bribe to keep me quiet - I GOT TO EAT PANCAKES - not with just a knife and fork - WITH STYX!!

I'm sure Dennis DeYoung does not remember that day. My sister barely remembers what happened back then.

That would have been a great breakfast!!!

I think if you can remember the 70's you werent really there

Back in my video production biz days I had the opportunity to meet alot of celebs. My favorite is Richard Kiel. We are still good friends and email one another on a regular basis. He does this real fun thing when people want a photograph with him. He hands me the camera, and then puts his hand on their shoulder. Right before I snap the picture he grabs them around the neck and growls....so the pic shows them with big eyes freaking out.

When we have lunch sometimes the restaurant people wont leave him alone, always wanting the autographs. When he is ready to eat he just stands up to his over 7 ft tall height, and says "can I eat now" with this real mean lookin face. Then we can hardly get any service after that as the staff are afraid to come back LOL.

He thinks it is hilarious to see their face when he does these things. He is really a big ole nice guy. Lately he is hangin out with the mini me character doing commercials. Now that must look real funny!!!!

I can attest to that - but I remember every minute! I searched high and low, but only found people who wanted to turn on, tune in, drop out - then turn away.

Oh man, I can't forget Mr. "I Pity the Fool" T!!!! He was the nicest man.

He was the bouncer at Dingbat's, my favorite dance club back in the day. He told my friend and I if anyone even looked at us funny, he'd take care of them for us. I was introduced to my ex-husband there - not by Mr. T., but from a co-worker of mine at the hospital I saw there one night. He introduced me to his brother-in-law.

Still, I guess you could say if it hadn't been for Mr. T., my son would never have been born. Then again, maybe I wouldn't be such a Dingbat today.

Reading about Styx really brought back some memories! They use to play at a NW Indiana place called the Sherwood Club in the early 70's before they`got there moment of fame. It was a small place with no seating- you just sat on the floor. My girlfriend always jumped up swaying when they played "lady". I also saw Aerosmith really early on. I went to a tiny old movie theater thinking that the New York Dolls were playing. When I got there Aerosmith (a band I never heard of) was there. It was a great experience being so close to them on that little stage that was where the screen use to be. Knew they were going to sell a lot of records!
I've had a few small star encounters, but my first one I'll never forget. As a preschooler I was taken into Chicago to Bozo's Circus. Don't laugh- for some one that age and at that time Bozo was FAMOUS. Well things didn't go well- I was too short to see anything but the back of heads for the whole show after being so excited I was coming. I had let my mother put my hair in banana curls to sit still seeing nothing for an hour!!! I was miffed. Everybody leaves at the end of the show in a line led by Bozo called "the grand march". The line backs up and the cameras go off. Bob Bell (AKA Bozo) wanders back along the line laughing and talking to the kids. He comes up to the boy next to me and points at my curls and says "look that girl has crooked hair". I REALLY wanted to bite him.
