lol, hubby FLOODED them out... and they just couldn't seem to find an ark to save themselves...

left the coop open, and the older chickens are having a party, cleaning up the piles and piles of ant eggs.

naw, I save *that* song for when the big ol' swarms of Army Ants come marching through.

there's about a dozen different kinds of ants here (Belize has more variety and amount of bugs than the ENTIRE US and Canada combined, true!)

these ones were small brown garden-variety ants, just building a nest under the chicken's nursery coop.

chickens usually get out of the way of such things, or stand off to the side, and have a gobble-fest, munching party...

but at night, the leetle cheekies can't see, and they couldn't get to sleep, as the ants were munching on chicken feet, which led to the babies interrupting my enjoyment of John McCain's concession speech, LOL !!

on the way home from market Tuesday, I was explaining Highlights, and Goofus and Gallant to my husband, who was raised in Europe.

can't remember why it came up, think I called our tailgater a GOOFUS, and he inquired if I meant DOOFUS, so I had to describe that cultural phenomenon.

Goofus eats candy before bedtime, Gallant carefully brushes his teeth!

Goofus is mean to animals, Gallant tends them diligently!

Goofus is a careless weasel, Gallant is a good Boy Scout.

oh, and a DOZEN chickies have just hatched in the incubator... methinks Klaus (my black rooster) has been a BUSY boy, looks like most of the beebies are dark.

hey ... come on .. I still read Highlights ... my fave is "Hidden Pictures" ... I use to submit stories to them back in the 80's ... hmmm, there's another idea for me!!

Well if it will make you all feel better I passed out today, then the car came to a stop lol just kidding //\\ I did nap for about 3 or 4 hours yowsers.... finished a few more things just now got snow blower set to go. cant find my one shovel got the garbage down need to do a couple more things tomorrow simple stuff more like dictate whats to be done will work just as well tomorrow

I can see my kitchen table!!!! I cleaned it off and now about to tackle the dreaded bill balancing act. Whoohoo! Let's see, will I be $35 cents off to the good or bad today? lol Don't you just love when your off and can't figure out how? I am type A so it bugs me until I fix it or just give up and add or take away to get the numbers to match mine! lol

oh boy, oh boy!

the bed's perfectly made, all the laundry's neatly folded and put away, I got a shower, and am squeaky clean, the house is swept, the animals are all fed, watered, and put to bed, and hubby's creating something in the kitchen that smells incredibly delicious...

it COULD have been a bad day... depends on what you choose to focus on, I guess (and the MS forgetfulness is also helpful in that department, lol!)

disasters include a whole batch of bread burned, while I was napping, and DH was herding chickens, ooops, neither of us heard the buzzer!

my geese are entering mating season, and things aren't going well for Gandalf, as there's 3 boys, and 2 girls, so somebody's left out...

Gandalf USED to be lord of the farm, ruler of everyone, but now he's outcast, driven away, humbled and humiliated by his own sons...

poor Gandalf is VERY grumpy about it, and tried to take it out on ME, and I had to holler for help, while trying to pin a 20 lb flapping, ****** off gander.

and this afternoon, we discovered to our dismay that our FULL cistern (15k gals) after the storm, has somehow become EMPTY...

so, tomorrow hubby will be digging up pipes, and hunting for leaks... could be depressing as heck, but we lost all our stored water last year, so we hooked up to the village water, (which is only $20 a month...) we won't stress over it, just try to find the problem and fix it, like grownups.

so, my daily insight, today had some good, some bad, but all's well that ends well, and it's almost dinner time! (stuffed bell peppers, yay!)

Good Evening Everyone!

I have had a LONG day! I got up this morning with sore teeth, yup the sinus infection is coming on strong but I went to my 8:00 class only to get a call from DBF saying he needed me to come home to take him to the ER. He got a piece of welding in his eye even though he had saftey glasses on. He was in quite a bit of pain. When I got here I looked and I could see it very clearly right in the center of his pupil. We headed to the ER and finally saw a doctor after waiting for 2 hours. About an hour later they numbed his eye and luckily when he rubbed a q-tip over it it grabbed the piece of welding and it popped right out. We were all amazed and greatful! He has some antibiotic cream we are putting on every 2 hours and is doing much better now.

So I drive him home and then drive back to class - this is now my third trip into the city! :eek: so I am pretty tired tonight along with a throbbing head, stuffy nose, sore throat and teeth!

Needless to say, I am going to bed!

Laundry and tons of it and put Jim's meds away. That is the plan for today.

Frank, it's OK, if you need the pain meds you should take them. Jim's doctor believes if your in pain your whole body hurts, you don't eat properly and you can't function as well. He believes meds are there to help you. That's why he's working so hard to get Jim's meds under control to find the right mix. :hug:

Char, I am sorry you had to do so much yesterday. I am glad bf is OK. Two hours to wait? Sheesh, he could have lost an eye waiting that long!

I talked to Renee last night and she's exhausted. She can't come on because she's too tired. She also passed out at work the other day but she's OK. Scared her docs! I'll be glad when she gets her insurance so she can get proper medical care.

Good morning! Yeah, it's Friday!:D But I do have exams from 2 classes and papers from another class to grade this weekend.:eek: I just gave the exams yesterday and today so I don't really have to get them all graded this weekend.


I do not have any plans for the weekend. I am just going to take it easy, read some, grade some, and nap alot.;)

Kelly, Good luck with the hair coloring. I need a bit of a touchup myself. I have an appointment next week. The only time I tried to highlight my hair, I ended up with big "globs" of blonde in the back. I had to go and have it fixed so I have never tried it myself again.

Sandy, how can we accumulate so much laundry? It's just me and the two boys here and it seems we generate enough laundry for a family of eight! :confused:

Frank, pain meds are okay....that's what they're there for. If you're in pain then your body is stressed and we all know stress and MS are not compatible! Get some rest!!

Deb, I have a secret to getting Frank to rest....PM me and I'll give it to you!

I posted a pic of Matt and his girlfriend's dog in my album. He looks so much like his Dad it's almost scary! I never realized how much he looks like him till I saw this picture. Guess I just never wanted to admit to myself that looking at him is like looking at his Dad.....

It's getting really cloudy here and rain is on the way. I think tonight will be a pizza night. Not delivery.....I have several frozen ones in the freezer. Delivery is so darn expensive....especially when each boy can just about eat an entire large pizza by himself! I'm lucky to get the crust they don't eat!! :p We all split the cost when we do get delivery but none of us can stand paying that much! We're such cheapskates!! :o

Wish I could grade then all today, but these are all essay exams. It generally takes me about 15 minutes per exam. The weather is supposed to get even colder, so I do not mind staying home for a change. Of course, I will probably be reading one of the books I picked up at Borders instead of grading.
