You all welcomed me into your friendships at THEOTHER place, and continued here. Many times you all reached out to me, and other times you allowed me to reach out to you, for this I am thankful. You have also made my wife feel so welcomed too, thank you. We joke, laugh smile share happiness and sometimes grief and pain, but we all share and i can not tell you how good inside i have felt, I got MS, B.F.D., what really counts is I have friends. thank you, from the bottom of my heart to all of you, my gratitude, affection, friendship and love you all have, each and every day, thank you for helping me feel good about having MS:grouphug: http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...z/Autumn-1.jpg |

Get Out And Vote All the ads, door-knocking, polling, speeches, and rallies culminate tomorrow as Americans head to the polls to vote in one of the nation's most historic elections. With 90 percent of the electorate holding the opinion that the country is seriously off track, voters are engaging in the political process as never before. Approximately 153.1 million Americans are now registered to vote (a record 73.5 percent of citizens 18 or older), record numbers are turning out to take advantage of the early voting systems in more than 30 states, and election officials are expecting record turnout overall. http://pr.thinkprogress.org/2008/11/pr20081103 :grouphug: |

Hi, everybody! :Wave-Hello:
|
Briefly leaving lurkdom for your opinion please... Yesterday our pastor/counselor and his wife were here to help us get rid of some stuff. At one point there was a question about an item staying or going to a new address. I said I though DH was going to put it in his basement apartment. DH then says he doesn't know if he is moving or not and then he looks at me and asks what he is doing. I. Was. Floored.:eek::eek:
When I finally got my wits about me enough to speak I angrily said "we aren't even going there".:mad::mad: Two or three times a week for the past I don't know how many months DH has told me one way or another that he wants out. After the help left it took me a good hour to get my knickers untwisted. :o Am I just too sensitive or was my meltdown a reasonable reaction? I've been thinking for a few weeks now that DH doesn't know what the hockey sticks he wants. Why else would he still have half his carp in what he says is my apartment? If he spent half as much time moving out as he does tinkering with stuff that doesn't need done now and being places he doesn't need to be he'd have been moved out and settled in months ago. There's the door buster! Don't let it hit ya where the good Lord split ya!:D Okay. Rant over. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In other news I've done my civic duty so now it is back to lurk mode and housework. Hugs all around. I forgot about the kids being under foot for the next three days. Was hoping to do some research this week which will be harder now. Oh well. Hope to be back here in a week to week and a half. I have been keeping track of everyone. Behave yourselves till I get back. :D |
Hey everyone! Another beautiful day in IL.
Election day~ wow! We voted early, so don't have to worry about that today. Also, got invited to an election night rally, but I'm sick and DH has to get up at 4am tomorrow, so we will armchair it tonight. It would have been neat to see all the excitement. Mind you, this is nothing like a big city rally, but guess they are expecting a very large crowd. *minus DM* Franko~ Everyone loves you and Deb. Why? B/C you are amazing down to earth people. NT would not be the same w/o you guys and we embraced you, b/c you embraced us. :grouphug: Your day out yest sounds wonderful. Everyone here is so warm and kind. :grouphug: I also don't always mention names, but I read your daily activities and try to keep up as best I can. DebbieD~ you made me cry! But, in a good way, as your DD reminds me of mine. She lights up the room and when she smiles, she wrinkles up her nose and all is right w/the world. I miss her like crazy, as she's in NC. :Sob: Have a good day everyone and Sox??? Your post made me tired; you are one busy Mom. Sandy~ You'll look for any excuse to smooch Jim. Give him a hug for me. WH~ Hey AMN, Vonn, Kay, Barb, Fin, Sarah, GG, Joellelee & EVERYONE else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) take care everyone~~~~ PS: I have a cold sore... wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! |
good morning everyone ..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...te/5209820.gif well its that time of year ... you know the scene ... we get up ... grab a cup of coffee .... drive to the voting station ... drive around and around and around trying to find a parking spot ... you have handicap parking sticker ... however there is only 3 handicap parking spots and they are full so you continue to drive around trying to find a spot that is at least within this zip code .... ok ... you've parked ... and have walked the 2.3 miles it took to get to the actual building .... that took 3 hours cause that 2.3 miles is the line of people waiting to vote also ... you meet lots of people while waiting ... that one over there ... shhhh don't tell .... he's stoned .... and that one .... she's in a cranky mood ... bit my head off for saying hi to her ... and over there .... he's PO'ed cause he actually has to stand in line ... some big shot of something or other ... oh and look there .... he goes to our church ... and there's someone from our local grocery store ... oh and theres so and so ... can't quite remember her name but it is good to see her out and about ... and there's the family that just moved in next door .... then its your turn ... you step into the booth, close the curtain, and .......... there ... all done ... your have voted .... you have received your sticker stating "i voted" and you wander out ... the line is still 2.3 miles long .... there is still a crabby person over there and a stoned person back there ... there is another person from your church, another person from the local grocery store, and yet another from your neighborhood ... you smile and nod ... as you walk back to your car http://i488.photobucket.com/albums/r...008/vote01.png |
ok busy busy busy again went to store then to auto part store got brakes gonna do debs backs and fronts today and then tomorrow rotate my tires and do my fronts, got to take advantage of this awesome weather
now this voting thing is that tomorrow:rolleyes::rolleyes::eek: I did my civic duty,I even got to use the electronic thingy, only problem was getting to it, which i pointed out after wards, accessibility is a must, so they move things around, and when i was done they go to moving it back so you cant get through again,so I pointed out I probably am not the only one with a cane or chair that may vote today so they fixed it b4 i left, all that vote today will be a part of history go out and vote and speak your mind through voting, as my dad use to say if you dont vote you can not complain the next four years peace |
I had to wait in line for about one minute before I voted. There were 4 precincts voting at my polling place. Now I need to get ready for class. It is hard to concentrate today. I am so excited. I have been invited to 2 different election night parties tonight. I may stay home on my sofa.
|
dm..........sorry about the cs. they smart. ouch:(
Hi to Frank, barb, nappy, deb and weave.:) Off to vote................yippeeeeeeee!!!!! |
Princess,
Cold sores always warrant ice cream per the doctor's orders. Have a big scoop on me! -Vic |
Good morning everyone! Good to see everyone and those who lurk popping in to say hi.
I received two calls this morning. Both from the political process. ARGH! Is it over yet? I am going to be in the basement today cleaning again. No Deb, I never went there yesterday. I decided to take the day off. If I don't get down there today I will clean all the junk mail off my kitchen table. I am so exciting! Last night we got to talk to Becky and we had a blast. We even teased back and forth about the election trying to convince each other who's the best person to be elected. LOL Ummm, if we were smart we'd know we already voted. Jim got on the phone with her acting like he was "Pedro" and teased with her. He owed her after teasingly dissing her about her choice. I threw the phone to him and said "Your on your own buster!" lmao Love ya Becky/BFF! So, who's taking bets how many kisses Jim will get tonight if it goes the way we want? lol |
Quote:
Sounds to me like he's having reservations about moving....or leaving you. He's stalling. But....I don't think that was the time or place to put you on the spot like that....not in front of friends. I'd have been irritated, too. |
Morning all. :)
So, the big day is finally here. I'll be so glad when it's over. This has worn me out, lol. I'm glad I voted early. I'm at the office, it's sort of busy today. Tomorrow I have off, sleep late, go for my flu and tetanus shot, also go to the bank, and drop winter clothes off at Salvation Army. DH and I are having a bottle of champagne tonight to celebrate. I might need a nap after work though! Our sons were home Sunday night for dinner, steak on the grill, twice baked potatoes and salad. I send a lot home with them. I have one last potato in my lunch today. :Starvin: I make them with Smart Balance, cheddar cheese, light sour cream, a little skim milk, a clove of garlic and salt. YUMMY!! The weather is nice again today, supposed to be tomorrow too. This year I'll need to rake the leaves from our red maple in the front yard. It's about 18-20 feet tall now and they're starting to drop. I like raking when it's cool and dry. I'm taking the Provigil five days a week now, and seem to be getting more accomplished. I don't have to fight to stay awake at work, so that's a plus. Have a good day everyone, and don't forget to vote! :) :grouphug: Hugs and prayers to each of you!!! |
Sandy ... my bet on the kisses if Jim wins ...
900 GA-ZILLION ... and I bet I'll be close!! **I changed it to 900, because I'm the 900th post!** |
Thank goodness for the nice weather! According to the polling people, my district has had an hour wait since about 7. Took me an hour and half, but I got my sticker! :)
So resting up before the next project. |
It's beautiful here today.....upper 60's close to 70. It's supposed to be FALL people......http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/k...s/censored.gif.
|
Hi Everyone!
it is beautiful here today also and tomorrow suppose to be mid 60's! :D I am loving it! Bring on the Indian Summer! |
Glad everyone is having a good day, it sure does a lot for the ole spirit.
'Tis an astonishing weather day here, too. We will be approaching a record but I hope it doesn't get broken, I hate hearing the same part over and over again. ;) I've made a capital decision and I am much pleased with it: As long as this weather holds out, I will not do any moving or estate work indoors, I am staying out here in my glass house until it's just too cold. I'm not wasting one minute of it to fret over junk that can wait for carpy weather. So there. Hm. Weave, I agree, he's clinging to something, make your wishes crystal clear to him. |
Hi everyone!! What a wonderful privilege it is to vote!! Hope all of you make the trek to your polling place!!
I went into an Obama phone bank and made calls to Ohio, just to make sure everyone's going to vote...this afternoon I'm going to go into the headquarters of a candidate for a House seat to make calls for a few hours. I'm supposed to go to the rally in downtown Chicago tonight, but I'm actually kind of scared to...I get so stiff that it's sometimes kind of hard to walk..I hope to find the cane hidden in the garage and bring that with for support, especially since we can't bring chairs. And there won't be any beer!! Also, my DH is playing autumn softball (16", of course), and he has 2 games tonight...he said he'll go with me, but I feel bad...and my 33 yr. old son got tickets to the VIP tent at the rally, which ticks me off, because he didn't work on the campaign, but knows someone, blah, blah...:mad: Meanwhile, I traveled to Indiana, typed in data, made phone calls, etc, and no VIP tent for me:( Secret...don't tell anyone!! My DD's boyfriend called last night and asked my DH if he could ask my DD for her hand!!! I was so excited, and can't wait to get the call next week from her!! I asked him to make sure she doesn't scream into the phone when she calls us... Now we just have to find the cash to fund the wedding...:eek: |
The weather is spectacular here!!!!!!!!!:D
Went with the little ones to do my civic duty then worked the bake sale. The amount of people out voting is amazing. We are breaking record numbers here. Wahoooooooooooooo! Going back outside .........its so beautiful even picking up dog poop is gonna be fun!!! okay not really but the weather is sweeeeeeeeeeet!:D Enjoy everyone!!!!! |
Debbie, so you are the one that keeps calling my 80 year old mother in Ohio. If she does not recognize the phone number, she has just been saying I am voting for Obama and hanging up. :D
|
Just popping back in and forgot to say Hi to Wiz, Char, Kell, T, Beck, Renee, Jess and anyone else I forgot. You know your'e all special. :grouphug:
Hey Vic~ I've got my bowl and spoon all ready for that ice cream. *hope there's chocolate in it* I'm feeling pretty carpy, so guess the weather is going to change soon. I am loving today; it is magnifico out! Please don't let Winter come to Toad Hollow. *inserting very large whine here* Gotta go flip AMN over; she's starting to pink up out there in her hot house. Have a good afternoon all. |
Loving this cool weather...a/c has been off most all day for the past few days. I get got and start sweating when working in the house, so I have to cool off...I'm very hot natured...my thermostat is broken. They say we don't have spare ones...so I endure the hot flashes that last all day. lol

one good thing about living in a small small town.....voting lets see..
it was 430pm....I drove up to city hall..parked right out front..across the street but right at front door area.....went inside and only 6 in front of me..in line....signed up, showed ID got crossed off...given ballot....voted and done...was out by 440 or 445....cool beans.....(in morning and I bet now after work..it is busier...) Now just chilling with the kiddos....laundry started, have next two days off...hugss all, sarah |
I didn't even have to show an ID. One of the poll workers greeted me by name. The joys of living in a small town!
|
You call THAT a small town? I know all the poll workers' middle names and birthdays. :D
|
The basement is done. I have a ton of garbage bags to bring up and a few paint touch ups to do but it's done. I even cleaned out the utility room. I had to so I could put more junk in it! lol
I am exhausted. I still have to clean the kitchen, cook dinner, shower Jim and myself and then I can sit down. Calgon????? |
I finally got pics of Nik from halloween. He's the bloody one. hahaha He was a Pizza Hut worker in the first who made someone mad. In the second he is the scream dude. In the third he's scaring the trick or treaters. Awww, poor things.

been up since 5 had to get a kid off to work early, today. Ok two hours and no coffee time to call doctorhttp://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/eatdrink003.gif I am going to try and tackle my van tody rotate tires and then do my front brakes, always enjoy doing front brakes for first time on a vehicle, it offers so many challenges, like figuring out how to do them and do them with no extra partshttp://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...hcuteducky.gif hope everyone is doing well, interesting election, so was the turn out number actually higher than in past elections? does anyone know and/or heard? Everyone in ill of noise enjoy the weather its gonna change back to autumn, pretty soon i heard mention of snowhttp://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/confused005.gif good morning everyonehttp://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/greet013.gif |
Good Morning Everyone!
I crashed early last night and didn't get a chance to even pop on after class. The weather is warm, overcast but 50 outside already! I will take it since they are calling for 30's again next week! :( I have decided I don't like split classes! It is going to be a long 8 weeks! I need to do homework and clean the apartment today. I hope everyone has a great day! |
