His wife called me and seems my brother is headed down the destructive path yet again. I pray he gets counseling soon. She's willing as long as he gets help. I'll expand more when I have the energy. Let's just say his past is haunting him and Satan is saying "Let's do it again!"

:(

CayoKay 11-16-2008 07:15 PM

Sandy, I'll pray for your brother...

mine didn't make it... the "destructive path" beckoning was far too strong for him to resist its siren song.

Rest in Peace, Daniel, age 45, passed away February 7, 2007.

:hug:

I hope your brother finds the strength to go in a better direction, Sandy.

:hug:

my postage-stamp-sized adopted country is now in recovery mode from the disaster of Tropical Storm #16.

1,110 Homes Under Floodwaters

posted (November 14, 2008)

Recovery from the big flood of 08 continues in Cayo, the Belize River Valley, and parts of the Orange Walk District. And new figures released from the National Emergency Management Organization show that the recovery will be lengthy and costly. More than 16,000 persons from 113 villages were affected. 9,200 of them have received two weeks of food supplies while two- hundred and sixteen remain in shelters. 8,200 people have received medical attention for flood related illnesses. That has so far cost $1 million.

And while that’s the human toll, the flood wiped out a thousand head of cattle, pigs, sheep, and poultry amounting to a million dollars. Forty-six miles of road were damaged and it’s going to cost 10 million dollars to fix them. 8,600 acres of crop valued at twelve point nine million dollars were also wiped out.

that's why we're reducing our flocks so drastically... the price of feed has skyrocketed, and we just can't afford to feed them all...

If he continues to spiral out of control this will be the first time that I know about it in about ten years. He has so much to be thankful for. He's ashamed I know and has told his wife he feels like he has no family now. I wrote him and told him to hand it over to GOD. I love him and that's all I can offer right now. He has to fix this.

Debbie D 11-16-2008 09:26 PM

So much going on with all of you...:grouphug:

Tk...I cut the 10 mg in half...seems to loosen me up a bit..but I think I might need the full 10 mgs...I'll let you know..

DM...low-grade fever? Be best to watch that...take care:grouphug:

Sox...hope those cole sxs dissipate soon... :hug:

Good Morning everyone! I have alot to do today and hope I can manage to keep the energy level to do it all. I've had lots of energy lately and have not been taking the Provigil at all...it's been over a week since I've taken any...so we'll see!

Sandy....you're a good sister....all you can do is let him know you love him and are there for him (and SIL). Hopefully he'll tell you what caused him to revert back to that behavior. I haven't listened to the song you posted yet.....will wait until I'm home alone so I can cry ('cos I know I will!!). If my boys see me crying they immediately think the worst and annoy me until I want to crawl under a rock!

Kay....I hope they get your SSDI figured out soon. They've had plenty of time and you need your $$!!! :mad: Prayers to everyone trying to recover from the storms.

DM....who won the race? I admit, I didn't watch it. But it did interfere with AFV at 7 PM here....:mad:....I didn't get my Sunday night dose of laughter!

Sox....maybe you should call the doctor. Seems you shouldn't still be in pain...maybe they can give you something just a little stronger than OTC pain relievers. I hope you feel better today. MS just seems to magnify otherwise tolerable pain levels.

Barb.....which week do you have off? The week of Thanksgiving? That'll be a nice break for you. I wanna brownie, too!!

Sarah.....golf??? Wow, just being able to walk 9 or 18 holes would be a miracle for me!! I'd definitely be riding the golf cart!! :p

Fin....I hope you and Barb can get together when she's in your area.

Vonn.....what can I say.....I'm sorry! :o I got holes in my brain!! I'll call you later today (you're thinkin' yeah...right!).

Frank & Deb.....where're you headed today? Road trip? Will we get pics? Please be careful.

Debbie D.....any luck with DH on the wedding expenses? I'm so glad I had two boys!! :p I was one of three girls although DH and I helped alot with our wedding expenses as I was the last daughter to get married and I knew my parents needed to conserve their savings (I had older parents...they were 40 when I was born).

Cindy....thanks for the printer tips. I took my paper out of the feeder tray - I never thought about dust and stuff collecting there.

Char....where are you? I hope you're doing OK.

Tricia....I wish you could come to GA but I understand why you can't. We'll still get to talk to you on the 3rd!

OK...if I've forgotten anyone you know it's not intentional. :) Hope everyone has a beautiful Monday. :grouphug:

DM 11-17-2008 08:11 AM

Good Morning all! How KEWL is this???? The Today Show is broadcasting from 4 pts all over the world and Matt is in the Blue Hole off the coast of Kay's BELIZE *hey Kay* and Meredith is in Sidney, Austrailia *Hey Anne*!

I'm waving; do you guys see me????

Kell~ Carl Edwards won the race, but Jimmie Johnson won the Race for the Chase Championship for the 3rd time in a row. It was a great race. I'll ride in Sarah's golf cart w/you Kell. I couldn't even swing a golf club. I hate having so many limitations. I couldn't imagine having to try and hold down a job. Heck, I'd get fired the first day. BUMMER!

How's everyone this morn? My coffee is most excellent and so very welcome this morn. Mr Weatherman says its going to be in the high 30's today. BRRRRR No snow yet and that's just the way I like it.

FinLady 11-17-2008 08:19 AM

Sandy, :hug::hug:

Sarah, hoping today goes well on the taper. :hug:

Kay, Hoping that recovery and help continues for your area. :hug:

Kelli, Edwards won the race, but Jimmie Johnson won the cup. Good race. Anyhoo, hope you get everything done today. :hug:

~~~~~~~~~~
Morning all :) Sipping my usual morning cup of coffee and trying to plan the day. Hoping I get a lot of stuff done today.
Have to venture out into the snow later. Need a couple of things, but think I'll wait until it's a little warmer out.
Hope everyone has a good day. :grouphug::grouphug:
