Morning all, it's Friday!!

Debbie D,

Are you taking Baclofen for the spasms? I took it for about a year and a half when I had them really bad, it worked pretty well, but mine was mostly stiffness and pain interspersed with spasms. I hope you'll find something that helps soon. I'm glad you started the Copaxone, I hope it slows things down for you. I took it for about 18 months and did pretty well with it.

Holly,

I can relate to what you're going through with your grandma. My parents both went through a lot of health problems and often we'd wonder, do we treat or keep them comfortable and then tried to come to a compromise. I hope you can put this off until after the holidays because it would be a shame if she didn't get to relax and enjoy herself this special time of year. BTW, have I told you lately you're a wonderful granddaughter? Your grandma is so lucky to have you.

Fin,

Have fun to day at the winter fair!

Trish,

We're at 5 degrees right now, want to trade? When I go outside, the inside of my nostrils burn from the cold... tmi, right? I guess I need a warm scarf to help with that...

My update, DH is going to clean out the microwave today... He's being so helpful! I'm so relieved too, because when I have to clean on all my days off I'm worthless for anything else! Tomorrow I have to get Christmas cards out and maybe clean out a few kitchen drawers. I also want to get the house decorated this weekend. We have a miniature tree that goes on a table in the corner and I have lots of decorations that I haven't used for several years. Since we've having Christmas at our house I want to do a good job decorating.

Everybody have a great Friday....

Yeah, Wiz! Glad DH is helping out with the chores.

The flip side of having our mild winters is that spring, summer, fall are he!! Months of over 100 degree, sun blazing heat. Seriously, you can burn yourself by touching something that has been in the sun, like, the steering wheel of the car or any exposed metal in the car. Kind of like sticking your tongue on cold metal. Think "The Christmas Story." LOL I know we have all done that at least once. Some of us more than once. But I won't go in to that.

I was so cool yesterday .. it was 7 degrees outside .. and the sun was shining ... and I felt comfortable ... weird, huh??

going to go out in it today - love the fresh, brisk air ... even as I'm sitting here - my left side feels like it's on fire (no more pain - been taking vitamins to calm it down) .. so, going outside is a relief for me!! just have to make sure I have my earmuffs and gloves on ...(and sweatshirt and jeans, too! oh, you guys!!) LOL

Morning everyone. I hope this finds all of you feeling better today and less in pain.

I went to the doctor today and explained my stomach cramps and how when I get up sometimes I feel nauseated and crampy. Other times I just move and it feels like someone stabbed me in the stomach. I told him when I eat I feel better. He confirmed what I suspected, I have an ulcer. I kind of knew it since I've had them before. So he up'd my Nexium to twice a day until I feel better. He said I need to slow down and I do too much. I know that but I am not doing anything I haven't done before. He said as we age things take more of a toll on us. Ok, doc, yes sir. Oh, and I ordered him some Cookies By Design gourmet cookies since I like him. lol They had a good sale going on.

Have a great day everyone. I am getting Jim up in a bit and we'll stay all snuggled up safe in our house.

morning all

not much here had a restless sleep deb is at work its still chilly out hey its up to 8 degrees wooooowhoooooooo bfd, lol it suppose to warm up so it can snow joy joy

Wizbethcathy am glad DH can be a help, I know what you mean I was killing myself on my days off and it was catching up to me big time

Sandy i thought they had determined ulcers were due to a virus? for some reason I seem to recall that they can attack ulcers from a diff approach, using drugs? did I have another dream from the future? or?

Vonnie I got up went right out to start debs car and honestly I can not tell, I am so numb to it, deb ask is it cold, I looked at her and said remember the MS I got told her I have no idea

good news is I am handling this winter better than I did last year, last year as soon as I went out I got numb, now I am numb b4 i go out so I cant tell and am doing better, hows that for pretzel logic

Holly, wish I had magical words for you, I guess I would have to lean towards what grams felt like doing, I think that is how I would approach it, good luck in the decisions you both make, again I reiterate

Trish I have spent a few summers down that way, dry heat is ok only to a few kelvins, it does get nasty hot, at least in winter you can layer your clothing, doent work that way in the summer heat

Happy Friday yall

peace

Good Morning everyone! TGIF!!! One more week of classes and then final exam week!

I have finished with my classes for today, but I have a meeting in a few minutes. It is so funny getting this response to my hair. My students this morning (all girls) told me that they loved it. I plan on going over to our local mall (has about 20 stores) to se if I can finish up my christmas shopping this afternoon. It is supposed to snow again tomorrow. It is 21 degrees here right now, but the wind chill makes it feel like 9. I plan on reading a graduate thesis this weekend, wrapping presents, and doing cards. I would also like to go see the Christmas movie with Reese Witherspoon.

Sandy, TK, Wiz, Debbie D, and Jenn -- I do not have your addresses. Could you possibly pm me?)

Sandy, I am sorry about your ulcers. I understand what you are dealing with. I was dx with three stomach ulcers several years ago. I use to take Prilosec, but have since "graduated" to nexium too.

Kelly, I did not see a post from you. I may have missed it. Hope you are feeling better today.

Wiz, that is great that your Dh is helping out. I fired my cleaning people about 2 months ago and really miss them. Maybe I could hire your hubbie?

Debbie D, I would call your neuro and tell him/her about your muscles spasms. I take 10 mg of baclofen 2x per day and it seems to help. I still have stiffness, but do not have to deal with spasms on a regular basis.

Soxmom, I want some cookies!

Holly, I understand delaying the procedure until after the holidays too. It does not seem to make any difference if they are not going to start treatment until after the holidays.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Frank, sometimes H-Pylori can cause ulcers. I tested negative for it years ago when I had an ulcer. I am not sure if the doctor ordered a H-Pylori test today but the symptoms are consistant with my previous ulcer. I am sure it's peptic since I feel better when I eat. Some don't but this is how my last ulcer went. If it doesn't clear up by the added Nexium then he'll probably send me for an endoscopy I am sure. There isn't anything they can really do except prescribe meds either way. I'm already taking Nexium for Gerd. If it's H-Pylori then they would prescribe antibiotics.

Good morning all...I hate setting the alarm to get up...if I dont' I'll stay in bed all day...that would feel so good right now.

Sorry your not feeling well Sandy. My Mom just this past month had three hospital stays with her ulcers. They were bleeding. She got some blood on one of her visits.

I want to put my tree up but I need some people to help move furniture...grrr...kids all too busy!!

Gotta take a shower Mom's health care nurse is coming to help her bathe at 11 and I want the real hot water....so mean....

Sandy,

Sorry about the ulcer! I take Nexium too, and it works a lot better for me when I don't drink coffee. If I drink a cup it just tears up my stomach. I really miss it too. I hope the extra dose will help you feel better!

Tami,

I hope you can get help moving your furniture!

Barb,

I sent you a PM.
