And for really serious gardening folks, you can start your petunia and impatiens seeds indoors, since they take a long time to grow, also moonflower seeds! :)

ewizabeth 12-20-2008 01:41 PM

Ok.... I need to get up, get the house straightened and start cooking. Tomorrow is the big day. A few people can't come, but I hope we get a pretty good crowd. I'm making a lot of food, lol. The windchills are supposed to be treacherous this weekend, as low as 20-30 below zero!

DH is being a big help, he's out getting last minute things right now. Somebody give me a push so I can get moving, lol.

SandyC 12-20-2008 02:25 PM

Push me and I will push you Wiz! I had a meltdown already this morning from that overwhelming stuff that attacks for no reason. lol

Momma's Kids 12-20-2008 02:28 PM

Sandy...
Wiz...I'm pushing, pushing, pushing

FranksAngel 12-20-2008 02:35 PM

hey ... i can give yall a push too ...

hope everyone is doing good ... my cousin and her husband made it in last night ... she and i stayed up until 2 this morning and then back up around 8 ... they just left heading for idaho ... and yes i cried when it came time to say goodbye ... she and i were inseparable as kids so having gone 22 years without seeing each other .... we didn't want to say goodbye ... she did promise to fly here to visit ... hopefully this summer ,,, i so can't wait ....

tkrik 12-20-2008 02:46 PM

Wiz - push, push, push! LOL You'll get it all done. And, if not that is ok too. Just relax and enjoy the party.

(((Deb))) - I do hope you get to see your cousin again soon.

SandyC 12-20-2008 03:32 PM

Meeting with Barb was sooo cool! I feel so lucky to have finally met her. She's a great person!

Sorry I didn't update sooner, but it's been a busy day around here. We did manage to convince one of the ladies who works for the resturant to take our pic.

Hope everyone has a great evening!

NaeNae 12-20-2008 04:46 PM

My Christmas party for work was this morning at one of our doctors houses we all had a really good time drank way to many mimosas and one by one missed the front step out of his house and fell on our butts! We are all now injured! LOL It was a pajama party too! Then we all went shopping together in our pajamas...some people laughed, some looked at us as if we were the dregs of society but most thought it was great fun! We had several people want to join us! Now I am home for maybe a half hour then off to Christmas party number two....this one stresses me out as I will only know about 5 of the 40 or so people there. And there is no alcohol :(

FinLady 12-20-2008 04:49 PM

Renee, glad you had fun! Hope you have a good time at the other one too.

sabimax 12-20-2008 05:59 PM

Nae Nae, sounds fun the pajama thing...woohooooo (should have gotten some mimosa to go hehe for the next party)

Sandy big hugssss, sorry for the overwhelm times...hugssss

wow all...just a few days left till Christmas, doesnt it just seem to come faster the older we get!!

work was ok, very busy with shoppers...and so Sarah is very worn out as usual....also humid..snowing out lots...and that means sxs galore..especially feet numbness since overnt...and legs a bummer too...

My son is asleep fast, and if I am not mistaken, he seems to sleep a LOT and say he feels sick..but has no definite what feels sick answer..on days like today humid...trying not to think something is up with him...but I then get worried cause I notice on similar my day troubles...

Two daughters down for the count..one sick to stomach one headache and in bed sleeping lots too....

Well better get to the little two rugrats...

One of the girls I nannied for, for 10 years way back when ...she graduates this coming spring..and as this family has spoiled my family in past with trips paid to florida or back there in MA....they once again already mentioned hosting us for a trip out there in spring for the graduation :)

Since hubby although he is from there, doesnt go on these trips...(feels funny about them paying..and he wouldnt get to do the things he would want in Boston...back home....since we would stay right with this family..many reasons hee)

I did then type to her, that if expense is a pain....that maybe she could consider just the baby and I....(although I know the oldest two would love to go..but same time they would have to miss some school)

well gotta run...as now arms a a bit achey...or jumpy...or spasmy...is smasmy a word?? funny how I keep having these neurological sxs...but hey nothing neurologically wrong with me...right frank...

hugss all, sarah

barb02 12-20-2008 06:59 PM

Made it safely to my mom's. It was nice meeting Jenn at breakfast. It took me 20 minutes to get to this site on my mom's computer so I will not be posting much.

CayoKay 12-20-2008 07:39 PM

dial-up blows, eh, Barb?

btw: love the new haircolor!

glad you arrived safely.

it is now, honey! you just invented a new word!

technically, I think the word is spastic... but I just call it spazzing.

hope it goes away quickly... and your kids get better... ugh, I hated having sick kids.

sabimax 12-20-2008 07:56 PM

Thanks Cayo,
Hoping all kids get better ASAP!! One that is healthy 3 year old, is now very very fussy, and thinking maybe she is feeling uggy without knowing how to tell me....

the other girls are up in beds reading books or watching TV, Maddie is snuggling, and Ciara is the crying one.

Son woke up, showered and acted all brandnew...and heading out to neighbor friends house.

Anyhow, yes arms and legs and all...feeling achey spazzy, spasticy, and spasmy hehe...hugsss, sarah

:D

oh, and that reminds me... today Esteban and MarieCruz visited me, and helped me sort through a huge pile of lettuce (use now, or bag & fridge)

little 5 yr old Esteban was talking about my guinea pigs (he's saving up his shillings to buy one for a pet) and suddenly, he LAUNCHED into the Wok-Wok theme song!

Wonder Pets! Wonder Pets! We're on our way
To help a baby animal and save the day!
We're not too big, and we're not too tough
But when we work together we've got the right stuff!
Go, Wonder Pets! Yay!

:grouphug:

sabimax 12-20-2008 08:27 PM

Momma's Kids 12-20-2008 08:36 PM

Just hanging out in my bathrobe and jammies...not a good idea to go shopping in them...mainly cause Wal Mart is the only place to go. I hate WalMart...never shopped there when I lived in Florida.

I'm hoping that a Target or something will open up one day.lol If you want to shop away from Wal Mart the nearest place is 45 min away and the roads are soooo confusing. I used to live there in the summers, but it has changed so much.

The smaller shops are usually too expensive.

SandyC 12-20-2008 10:22 PM

ARGHHHHH!!! My porch lights and roof lights went out and keep going out every time I reset the breaker. I don't know what's up, maybe the ice? Anyway I brought in the extension cords to dry them out. I instructed youngest to get more cords tomorrow. I did find one cord was a little frayed but not cut so who knows. ARGHHH why on the night we're supposed to get -40 below wind chills and 40 mph winds?????

Whew, that felt good. I wrapped gifts today and almost done. Just waiting for that package to get here, the candles you know. I heard from the Ebay chick and she assured me they went out. I also got all the neighbors candy done. I am tired and achy thanks to breaking that ice yesterday. I will get Nik to help me tomorrow break up the ice on my porch if the wind chill doesn't turn it into steel. hahahaha

The good news is the Grinch hasn't got me yet! :D

Barb, glad you made it there. Love the pic!

Debbie D 12-20-2008 10:51 PM

Hi all...got the rest of shopping done with DH today...got 7-11 gift cards for kids to get slurpees...LOL...it's a tradition with the kids; DH's idea...
so tired of the painful spasms...wondering if I should call neuro on Monday to see if I can go in for IVSM this week instead of Jan.
I can't wait to get holidays over with...feel sad about my attitude, but I just can't stand the stress of making sure that everyone's happy...:(:(

frank and i think it might be an overload ... try seperating your lights so that they are about 600 lights per extention cord .... if you put too many lights on one cord it will trip the breaker ... i hope this helps and i hope you get out from under all the ice too ....

SandyC 12-21-2008 12:57 AM

Thanks Debbie. I've had them hooked up like this since Thanksgiving with no trouble so I am pretty sure the ice has something to do with it. BUT, I am going to separate the cords and use two outlets this time just in case. lol

BTW, the wind is extremely strong right now. If i didn't have snow on my back porch I think the swing would fly! :yikes:

If anything has fallen tomorrow (xmas decs) I am going to just put it away. hahaha

CayoKay 12-21-2008 06:39 AM

Sandy, bettah flying *swings* than houses, or monkeys, for that matter!

praying for a cessation in your gnarly weather soon, you poor Illinoisians...

NaeNae? I forgot to say why it was so CUTE that Esteban sang to me.

1. My kids are all grown, so I'd never heard of the Wonder Pets before you talked about them, and how they helped you and Olivia get your work done, (since we have no TV here, and I've never seen the show.)

2. I'd've never known who they *were* except for this board, and leetle Olivia.

 :grouphug:

3. Esteban has very little English, so it was quite adorable to hear his rendition of the Wok-Wok song in near-perfect English.

4. I guess that TV is part of how many children learn English... and what I thought of while Esteban sang was mi esposo's claim that his first English sentence was "I *love* my Tampax tampons!"

:D;):D

oh Debbie, I know *exactly* what you mean !! my heart goes out to you, and I truly empathize.

I've developed coping strategies for the foot and calf cramps, even the ones that wake me from a dead sleep, going ZOING !!

:eek::(:eek:

I've trained myself to get up quickly, and place the offending foot FLAT on the floor, and lean forward slightly, to gently stretch, and try to undo the zoinging muscles. I can do this even half-asleep... (pain as motivation works wonders in training, eh?)

but these NEW spazzes... they're in my thighs, and I haven't figured out yet how to make them CHILL out...

so, we're sisters in pain 'n' agony, honeybabydarlin'

Kitty 12-21-2008 07:33 AM

Good Morning everybody! Well, it feels like December here again. I was getting grumpy with the warm, humid weather!

I've made my Christmas dinner shopping list and will probably go on Monday or Tuesday to shop for all the ingredients I need. I put a huge note on the front of the fridge door Dinner at Noon so.....how many times do you think the boys will ask what time we're eating??

I talked to my BIL last night....it's been almost 1 year since Susan passed away. Let me just say he gave me some news that absolutely floored me....please say a prayer for me that I can be open minded and gracious enough to understand and accept why he's doing what he's doing. I really need some divine intervention here to help me with my attitude.....:(

Four more days till Santa comes! I hope everyone gets what they've wished for and that Santa is good to you all. :grouphug:

CayoKay 12-21-2008 08:44 AM

lemme guess... he's already seeing somebody?

my brother's wife was only "in mourning" for a year.

I don't GET it...

heck, it took me five YEARS to "get over" just a breakup, but the *loss* of a spouse? probably never is my guess, for me........

prayin' for your attitude adjustment, via divine intervention Kell, no matter what the "issue" is there.

weegot5kiz 12-21-2008 10:33 AM

Thanks, Kay.

I truly believe that men are so totally different from women when it comes to things like this. It took me four years just to be able to go out on a date. I've found that more often than not men tend to get back out there in the "relationship world" quicker than women do. And I believe it's because they need someone to nurture them. They need that "woman's touch" sort of thing. I've totally surprised myself in that I am content with my solitude and look at another man in my life as more of an intrusion than a welcome distraction. Guess I've just become comfortable with my own company....plus the men I dated came with a free subscription to "Drama Central" and "The Ex-wife Digest"!! :p

The security that comes with a committed relationship is nice and I often wonder how I'll cope in my later years without it but I just take it one day at a time.

weegot5kiz 12-21-2008 10:37 AM

this is why my weather report just said LOL

for the record i spent about 6 yrs mourning a bad marriage, think its more the individual not gender

NaeNae 12-21-2008 11:00 AM

Hey guys Kayo The tampax thing cracked me up!

Kelly-inner peace sister! it's rough adjusting to the newness not necessarily of that person but of the idea of him being with someone different.

Sandy I keep picturing National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation! Thats my fav Christmas movie BTW!

Thanks to all who sent cards....Sandy & Jim, Moi and Moss, Frank and Debbie!

I have been bad I did not send out cards this year...the whole dang season just crept up on me! And I have two packages to go out that I haven't mailed!!!

Have to go today to pick up the kids bigges Christmas present, think 75 pounds at 1 year old, furry, and has 4 legs LOL....It's a St Bernard!!! The kids are beside themselves but she is coming fully trained and socialized so thats a great thing!

Vonn07 12-21-2008 11:43 AM

Kelly ... in the last 2 years - I've lost 3 married friend's wives ... and all within one year or less .. they are seeing, spending, traveling together with women as a 'significant' other ... and overly serious, too ... just threw me for a loop!

then, there are women (as my aunt) was widowed for over 30 years - and enjoyed the singleness - freedom ...

hope you all are enjoying this brisk sunday morning ... it's uh, 8 below zero or something now ... and getting to a high of 2 above zero!!!

I can say with no problem that I will never ever get married again or get serious with anyone. I watch those crazy shows on tv and the news and let me tell you dating today is scary. Besides you really never know someone until your in too deep anyway. Screw that. Besides, there's no place like Jim's arms to cuddle with and every man that came my way would be compared. :heartthrob:

Besides, doesn't ToysRUs sell toys? :p

On the agenda today. Clean up in front of the litter box. Seems Rick stuck his butt out the box and accidently pee'd on the floor. lol It's clean so I know that's what happened. Then I plan to maybe wash the other floors. Who knows?

The weather in my neck of the woods is -7 degrees and the wind is brutal. Both kids are coming home today. Hope their cars start! I planned to hook up the lights but maybe tomorrow when the wind is down. If it goes away later I may deliver my sweets to the neighbors.

Have a good day everyone! :grouphug:

Amen, sister! It is scary out there and Matt reminds me every day that we live amongst looney-tunes and crackpots! If Tigger were taller I'd marry him!!! :p At least he covers his business up in the sandbox and doesn't leave the lid up! :D

weegot5kiz 12-21-2008 02:10 PM

barb02 12-21-2008 02:38 PM

Hi everyone! I am at my sisters on her computer. Just wanted to drop in for a quick hi. I wanted to make you all envious by telling you that Jenn gave me one of her paintings (winter frost) and a bottle of wine. The painting is really pretty (my favorite colors of blue and caribbean blue/green. Thank you Jennifer!!!:D And I know my mom and sisters will also enjoy the wine.

Hope everyone is doing okay. We are supposed to get he cold temps here tomorrow, but not as cold as N. Illinois. We did get some freezing precip and snow last night. I can't just avoid that stuff! Family is watching the Steelers.

Gotta go; pizza and salad is here.

SandyC 12-21-2008 02:44 PM

I called my mom this morning and she was having a seizure. I immediately called my sister and we got someone over there. I had them give her an extra Dilantin and my sister or BIL are on her way over there to get her or sit with her. This is very close to the other seizure. Please keep her in your prayers. Since we know what's up this time we're not rushing to the er but will be calling her doctor.

Kitty 12-21-2008 02:55 PM

Frank....what a sweet thoughtful gift. I know she'll enjoy it for a long time to come.

Sandy, prayers for your Mom being sent now. I know it must be so hard for you being far away and only being able to use the telephone for communication. I'm glad other family members are able to be there for her. I'm sure she will be fine but it's still scary nonetheless.

It's cold here today, and very, very windy, but nothing like what ya'll up North are dealing with. We've had power outages around us due to the winds (40+ mph) but so far we still have ours on.

Everybody take care! :grouphug:

SandyC 12-21-2008 02:58 PM

Well, I knew something was wrong when she called my cell. I called her back and got no answer at her home. So I called the cell and she answered and said she couldn't call her phone and kept repeating it over and over. She's trying to say the right thing but it's coming out wrong. We're waiting for the doctor to call back to see what to do. I am sure we just watch her and see if she comes out of it.
