Debbie, :hug: I know. From what I understand Daley hates Blago so things definately shifted somewhere along that line. All I know is I sat here praying please don't let Obama know about this, please. I knew there was something fishy going on when Obama didn't invite Blago to the election celebration downtown.

Out with the old and in with the new. I hope now things can get back to where they are supposed to be. The va owes my kids big bucks for college tuition and we haven't seen anything in almost a year. Education is suffering, pensions are lacking. Things are bad and we need a ray of light. Blago would do himself good to step down about now. Oh and his wife should be arrested as well in my opinion. :mad:

Whew, that was long. lol On to sweeter subjects. :D I am making those Ritz crackers with peanut butter and melted chocolate over them tonight. Jim and I have to taste test before I make for my neighbors right? :p

SandyC 12-09-2008 08:22 PM

Mark your calenders Illinoisans and neighbors! Renee is coming up at the end of January and has promised to make us an Italian and possible Cajun dinner at my house! Frank, if your in the mood to cook I am sure she'd love to have you help. LOL She said she'd teach me and I declined because I hate cooking. hahahaha!

So, that means my house, end of January, all Illinoisans and neighbors welcome! Possible sleepover for anyone wanting to kick back and party like we are 20 again. I'll post a gtg thread closer to the date.

NaeNae 12-09-2008 08:55 PM

Really Sandy said if I was gonna crash at her house for 4 days I had to earn my keep by cooking :eek: Can you believe it????? Sheesh! LMAO just kidding, she was worried what with me being a gourmet and all that I would hate her food! I told her no worries I'd cook!! Now lets all cross our fingers I don't get snowed out!

Speaking of snow we are getting snow tonight...perhaps I should rethink kicking man number one to the curb and invited them both over to keep me warm!!!! :holysheep: I know I'm scandalous LOL

sabimax 12-09-2008 09:23 PM

CayoKay 12-10-2008 08:40 AM

listening to my birds get restless, waiting for me to finish chopping up their vittles...

and wondering where on EARTH Alfred Hitchcock got that idea for the movie The Birds

:D

FinLady 12-10-2008 09:03 AM

Kay, LOL. Not sure, but do know that was the first horror movie I ever saw. Thanks to my mom, believe it or not. Had some strange fears as a child because of it. :D

~~~~~~~~~
Morning all! Cloudy and yucky out there, and I have to go out today. My appointment is for this afternoon, and really hoping this doc can help me out. Hopefully not a sale job, but the receptionist thought she's one of their better docs so crossing fingers.
So sipping down some coffee right now.
Hoping everyone who's not feeling good feels better soon, and just a great big round of hugs to you all. you guys are great. :grouphug::grouphug:
Debbie D 12-10-2008 09:29 AM
Mornin' everybody!! It's a cold, but wonderful day here in the Chicago area...we look so stupid as voters...Gov. Blago is a laughingstock...sounds unbelievably stupid...what a sick person...
the thing that's funny is the media is making a big deal about the expletives that he and his wife used on the tapes released. So? They're just words. What's obscene is the evil greed that they spout. Makes me sick...:mad:
I gave myself my Copaxone injection in the abdomen last night, and it was the easiest...no reaction...I don't have much fat there, so I reduced the number on the autoject. Hope I actually got the med in!:confused:
Well, I'm actually going to go and try to work out today...I've been religious about taking baclofen every 8 hrs. The spasms have reduced...not locking my back and legs anymore, just stiff, and the fasciculations in my calves are frequent, but painless. The exercise will help.
Have a wonderful day everyone...take care, rest up, take deep breaths occasionally, and smile!
JustWeave 12-10-2008 09:52 AM
Mornin' all. Same carp different day. I'm fine. Have a good one.
tkrik 12-10-2008 09:55 AM
Good morning everyone!
DebbieD - That is fantastic! Congratulations. Yes, the stomach does seem to be the easiest. Glad to hear you are starting to feel better.
Maddie - Thanks for the sweet post. Glad you had fun with your sister.
Now, Frank, that is just wrong!:eek: Poor kid. lol
Fin - Good luck at the dr today. Hopefully this one can help you.:hug:
Renee - You naughty, naughty woman! LOL
Kay - Alfred Hitchcock had quite the imagination, didn't he. LOL That was one freaky movie.:eek: DD17 hates birds and I always kid her that one night we are going to watch that movie. LOL
Sandy - Not sure you would want me around if I was partying like I was 20. :eek::p Besides, I weigh more now and am not sure if you have a table strong enough AND I don't know who would bail me out of jail as I am sure, knowing what I was like, would certainly not be able to say in one place and . . . um, um, um . . . oh, never mind.:D (So glad those days are over, had kids and I grew up. LOL Of course, my avatar doesn't seem to reflect that does it. LOL Big Bud sign over my head.:D Seriously, I am sober in that picture as I learned a few years ago Neurontin and alcohol aren't a good idea. zzzzzzzzzz.;)).
Vonn - Don't throw a snowball at me but . . .that sounds pretty. I hope you are enjoying it, some.
Hi everyone else . . .thinking of you too and hoping you are well.
Today I am the luckiest. I get to go in the tube. Yahoo, yeah me. :rolleyes: DD18 is looking forward to being my designated driver as apparently I am really funny when I take a lorazepam. LOL
weegot5kiz 12-10-2008 10:00 AM
Trish best of luck on the tube testing:hug:
hello weave, short sweet and to the point well said:hug:
hollym 12-10-2008 10:13 AM
DS is better and off to school today, so I'm back at work. Isn't it funny how quickly little kids can bounce back? If I had puked several times in the morning, I could not possibly be running around the house like a lunatic by 3 PM.:p
I am so flippin tired and sore today. I guess my "cleanathon" wasn't such a hot idea, but dang I got alot done and I even rested several times. I cleaned out both boys' closets and both of their dressers. I think I have something like 6 or 8 grocery store bags full of clothes for Goodwill and I rescued about 20 hangers that were holding clothes they haven't worn in years. I guess (judging by the sizes) that I haven't done that kind of a closet clean out in 2 years!!:eek:
I clearly made too many trips up and down the steps - my legs are in so much pain and I'm hobbling like an old lady. I think the only thing on me that doesn't hurt is my head at this point. I'm still glad I got all that done, though. I think I also did about 5 or 6 loads of laundry.
I will just take an extra baclofen and some more advil and hopefully the coffee will kick in soon!!
Just a word on the Illinois governor scandal. DS age 11 was in my room watching my TV this morning laughing when I came down the hall. I asked him what was so funny and he said "this moron governor thought he could sell Obama's senate seat". He was just so blown away that a grown up would think he could get away with that. It was funny to see it from a kid's perspective. He is my future political scientist so I'm sure I will be hearing his opinions about this one for awhile.:rolleyes:
sabimax 12-10-2008 10:25 AM
Frank I love the little coffee dude at end of your post...hehehee
hey all
GOOD MORNING!!!!! Sunny day, but 11 degrees!!:eek:
I was suppose to go to dentist this morn...but yesterday I called and cancelled..figured they dont want my germs...hehe
I do however have eye apt..later...which regular checkup but will be doing the fields again, she said to do them yearly...her plan.
hugsss all, happy snowing day to all if you are getting snow...happy drugged out tubing day to our tube girl..hehehe hope all goes well....
hugss to all who feeling blahhhh hoping you are feeling better...I am coming around I think...and enjoy the December season....is it really the 10th today..I havent done much shopping..ahhhhh or cards yet either..ahhhh
weegot5kiz 12-10-2008 10:36 AM
holly good morning:hug: its interesting how resilient them there wee critters can be, I found if interesting that an eleven year old, had more common sense than a grown person, sorry you had too many trips, up and down, doesn't take much to make them legs sore I did some walking through some stores to get deb some supplies, sams club is a big store and plastic cups are at the back and i still had wally world to hit, yeah my legs cried all day
Sarah morning :hug:I always wonder about docs and dentist do they have they magic ju ju to stay healthy or do they get everything or is it a matter of a few years at first of being sick a lot till they build immunities. Sarah fields? vision huh:p
morning trish good luck today again:hug:
Kitty 12-10-2008 10:44 AM
Mornin' everyone. It's pouring rain here....thundering and everything like it's Spring. It's in the upper 50's but by this weekend it's supposed to dip back down into the upper 40's for highs. We need the rain so I'm not complaining.
Debbie, glad the shot went better for you. I always did them in the stomach area but eventually you have to rotate to another part of the body and let that area heal.
Holly, so glad DS is better today. They do bounce back quickly don't they?
Tricia, good luck with the tube. I actually don't mind MRI's so I don't take anything...maybe I should pretend that I do so that I can have a happy pill, too!! :p
Fin, good luck with your doctor's appt. this afternoon. Be careful in the yucky weather.
Frank, Vonn, Kay, Deb, Sandy, Renee, Sarah, Weave and anybody else I didn't mention....here's a :grouphug:
I'm feeling so much better this morning...at least my throat doesn't feel like it's on fire anymore. Still really stuffy and still have a cough but the achy breaky feeling is subsiding.
Everyone have a great day!
sabimax 12-10-2008 10:47 AM
yes Fields for Sarah...
Highlight of tomorrows day off..my first mammogram...here at my physical two weeks ago...I mentioned a place under my arm...that I wondered about..she felt around didnt feel anything during exam....then she says..
Vonn07 12-10-2008 10:48 AM
Hey DebbieD ... that's great about the tummy injection site .. as long as you didn't have medication all over - you done good .. it just needs to get 'under' the skin .. not in a muscle ...
Tricia .. no snowball fighting here - maybe later ...
Holly - good for you about 'decluttering' ... but sorry about you overdoing it ... I'll let Frank *smack* you for overdoing it!! I did that too yesterday - and filled another box of clothes that I don't wear anymore ... can only wear one thing at a time anyways ...
Hey Sarah ... keep hugging away ... hope you feel better!
where's that sassy Kitty-girl ... KITTY??? oh KITTY??
Frank ... please stay out of the snowbanks today if you go out anywhere (*there Deb & him goes over to Jim and Sandy's again!!*)
Wiz?? how are you feeling?? and Rocky??
Hey Jenn ... The Birds was the first Hitchcock film I seen too - and it use to be on Sunday Afternoon Matinees ... the stuff they use to show on TV!!
UPDATE?? nothing much ... just being a busy bee ... will have to find my car after the 9 inches of snow we got ... but it's going to be in the 30s today ... so hopefully most of it will blow off or melt!!
p.s. there's Kitty!!! we posted at the same time!! ... well, 944 my time and 1044 her time!!
sabimax 12-10-2008 10:48 AM
Same here kitty..throat si a feeling much better..still coughing too..but I think clearning out of me...yeahhh we are on the mend....sounds like we had a similar thing going on.....hmmmm hugssss,sarah
tkrik 12-10-2008 11:02 AM
Holly - It must some weird maternal thing that when the kids are sick, we clean and clean and clean. LOL I do the same thing. I am glad your DS is feeling better. I hope you are able to get some rest today.
Sarah - That is so cute! Maddie loves us as much as we love her.:p Hi Maddie! Glad you are starting to feel better.:hug:
Kelly - Glad to hear you are feeling better as well.
Frank
- They wash their hands a lot. I am always leery of a dr that comes in the room to examine me or DDs or anyone for that matter and doesn't wash their hands 1st or put gloves on.
Yes, you guys, I am a terrible claustrophobic. Crowded elevators freak me out. Now you Chicago area people will understand this one. The Sears tower wasn't built when we lived in the area but there was another big, big building that we went to to see Santa.
We got in the elevator 1st and then tons of people started piling in and I freaked, started to push my way out of that elevator. My mom grabbed the hood of my jacket and those around helped her to keep me in that elevator. I, in a heart beat, would have given up my chance to see Santa and tell him what I wanted than take that elevator. I could have cared less about seeing him. LOL Yes, I am claustrophobic.
Since 2003, I have only had 1 MRI without sedation. Once and only once, I tried again without as I knew that MS was becoming a reality and knew I would have to do these more often. After being pulled out of the tube 3 times, they slapped a Xanax under my tongue and within 10 minutes I was fine and we got the MRI done.
Of course, I have to be careful on how self medicated I get my self. LOL. I will start hallucinating and talking smack. LOL My poor mom one day. I was seeing ghost dogs on the MRI screen that I could see from the mirror on my head cage. That was a trip. That was the last time I took 3 of those puppies before an MRI. LOL.
See why DD18 is looking forward to this afternoon.:D I'm a lightweight and can't handle my drugs and she knows that. ;):p
Vonn07 12-10-2008 11:05 AM
hey yous guys ...*I* met little, Miss Maddie in person!!! .... :yahoo:
SandyC 12-10-2008 11:08 AM
barb02 12-10-2008 11:20 AM
Good morning all! We did not get any snow down here; just rain. I am in my office at school reading a master's thesis. Holly, It sure sounds like you son is going to end up in one of my classes someday -- if I am still teaching then.
Jenn, Hope you appt goes well and doc can help you.
Tricia, have fun!
Well I need to get back to my reading and grading. Two more days of classes and then finals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad you're feeling better, Sarah. I was so worried this was going to cause an exacerbation but so far it hasn't.....maybe I shouldn't have said that, huh......did I just jinx myself?! :eek:
I'll warn you in enough time that you can retire!! He is one that can drive you crazy with 20 million questions and "what if" scenarios.:eek::D I'm usually good with the first 5 minutes or so and then I just have to tell him to stop. I don't like to stifle intellectual curiosity, but every answered question spawns more. I send him to Google a lot.
He is one of those kids that take over class discussions. His 5th grade teacher last year said she literally couldn't teach a subject in the realm of science and social studies / history that he didn't know enough about to monopolize the discussion. :rolleyes:
I am proud of him, though.
soxmom 12-10-2008 02:11 PM
Hi all................dd9 home sick(yuck)........I hope everyone has
a great day.....:hug::hug::hug:
FinLady 12-10-2008 02:55 PM
Hi all. :) Home from the doc. She gave me some Probiotics, took some blood, and set me up with a colonoscopy next month. :Sigh:
She was a little concerned, but we're hoping it's just something simple like the MS or Endo flaring. She said unfortunately the only way to know based on my symptoms is to do the test. :(
So got some reading to do with all the stuff she gave me. Still can't believe the soonest they could get me in for the test was next month, but hoping the meds help.
:grouphug::grouphug: to all.
weegot5kiz 12-10-2008 03:29 PM
Soxie sorry about the sick one at home:hug:
Holly I used the old stand by answer a lot "look it up" and when they had trouble finding the answer online i would help but i tried to enforce in all of them seek your own answers, then go from there
finnie the hardest part of the test is the prep the day before, odds are they will knock you out and it will be snap snap all done, in no time, hope the results are positive results
Kitty 12-10-2008 03:31 PM
:grouphug: Sox and Fin........hope DD feels better, Sox and I hope things go well up till and during your test next month, Fin.
Vonn07 12-10-2008 04:17 PM
That's all I have accomplished thus far. I have ground beef thawing for tacos tonight and now I am going to leave you to start the checkbook boogie. :yikes:
Update, checkbook done. And the best part is somehow I had and extra $75!!!!!! Whoohoo!
tkrik 12-10-2008 05:52 PM
I'm back and so relaxed. LOL The ladies rolling me in to the tube liked me. They said I was funny and since they didn't know where to put the mirror I told them to give it to me and I'd show them how. LOL They like funny easy patients. LOL
Twink - If you are reading this, my blonde moment made no difference. LOL
SandyC 12-11-2008 12:15 AM
OK, so I have lost my mind. Remember when I was painting my basement? Well, I was supposed to paint the bathroom down there too. I finally remembered today to actually pull the paint can out and get started. So, add that to my list of accomplishments today, one coat done, one to follow Friday. I also got Jim his bath.
Laundry and wrap gifts tomorrow. Whew, and I wonder why I am overwhelmed? :rolleyes:
Frank, tell Deb I texted (is that spelled right, is it even a word? :p) her back. I am not sure if she got it or missed it. lol
Vonn07 12-11-2008 12:18 AM
Sandy .. you must be **TIRED** with your "lift" of accomplishments today!!:p
I fixed that and the "one can one". :p
JustWeave 12-11-2008 08:22 AM
I can't possibly be the first one up. Where is everyone? Wakey wakey!!! Probably out working already. Me? I'm just trying to convince myself I need to get moving. Actually I do know that. Today is my second interview this afternoon so I will need to get ready for that. I hope I get an answer this time. I'm gonna want to scream if they tell me they will call me later with an answer.
Anyhoo, stuff to do better get to it.
FinLady 12-11-2008 08:38 AM
Weave, I'm awake, I'm awake!! LOL! :D keeping fingers crossed for ya. :hug:
trish, hmmm. maybe I need some happy pills for "shooting the tube". :) Glad it wasn't too bad for ya. :hug: I've had a panic attack once during an MRI.
Sandy, Glad to hear you got a lot done yesterday. :)
~~~~~~~

Morning, morning. Cold, snowy, ick. Wish it was still in the 50s it was a couple of days ago.

Today's another cleaning day, so trying to get my coffee in for a kickstart.

The past two nights I haven't slept too bad. Old tricks are the best tricks. I make hot chocolate with milk. Yeppers - the warm milk knocks me out. :)

Hope everyone has a good day today. :grouphug::grouphug:
