me too!

except my problem is rain, after it falls on clay soil, mixed with bird splats.

it's slipperier than an ice-skating rink before it dries up.

I *slid* a couple times, teetering precariously, arms loaded up with bags and pails of lettuce and cabbage and corn.

I was scared of getting injured, and also dreading having to wash muddy clothes....

what I need is a BIG ol' dumptruck load of sand (15 cubic yards), and the energy to rake it into place.

glad you made it into the building safely Barb, and I sure HOPE they put sand down for you by the time you get off today!

It's a little harder now. :o It's generally a duck walk, lol. Toes pointed out, legs apart. Good shoes/boots with traction help a lot.

My dad used to be a mountain climber, and he can almost run on ice. Amazes me, but learned a little bit on how to do it from watching him.

Barb, be careful today.

just a light dusting of snow what was bad was driving when it hit during rush hour times. I will say one thing the village is really cleaning up, like in prep for more snow, kind of wonder what they know we dont

I carry a large ziplock bag of rock salt or snow melt in my car, right on the floor on the passenger side where I can reach it. The scariest part for me is getting out of the car, or back in, if it's icy. You're off balance, putting all your weight on one foot when you twist around to transfer.

If I see ice, I sprinkle salt right next to the car before I even step out. And if it's icy between the car and wherever, I sprinkle a little bit, take a step, make sure I'm firmly planted, sprinkle a little more, and so on.

I don't look any sillier than I'd look sitting on my dignity in the parking lot, waiting for the ambulance to get there.

Blessings, good idea. I have some salt in my garage. I will put it in my car.

B2Y - I agree with Barb. That is a great idea! Thanks for sharing that.

Morning! Today is Chris's b-day, the big 22. He's having a friend come over and then they are heading up to Dekalb for the night. We're just chilling today. I need to start making my treats for neighbors and clean up the kitchen. I need to also fax those proposals over before that so they can get rolling on what they may give us for the project.

Have a good day everyone and please watch for that ice. I need some salt too and plan to send Nik out later to get me some, along with my meds of course. lol I love having them home so they can run errands for us.
