yeah, been thinkin' 'bout wills lately, Kell.

inheritance rules here are weird, so I really DO have to have my ducks in a row, to make sure my wishes are honoured.

got it written out, just need to find a lawyer in the jungle, lol!

today was about hands 'n' knees work, scrubbing off my wheelchair ramp.

for some unknown reason, one pair of my geese likes to SLEEP there, and BOY-oh-BOY can they leave calling cards !!

speaking of ducks in a row, only one duck to do today, and I'm all done...

getting lazy in my old age, and opted to do "pelado" which was taught me by a neighbor...

just too tired to pluck, I swear, MORE feathers GROW, while I'm doing it.

with plucking, each duck takes two hours to process properly, sigh!

with the peel method, the skin is tossed, but it only takes HALF the time.

I have numb hands, so I just have to be VERY careful with the knife, as I separate the fat and sinews, and peel off the whole skin, feathers and all..

just like rolling off a tight tube sock, lol!

then DH does the carcass part, gutting, and putting pieces into freezer bags, sometimes with spices or rubs, and slices up the breast for stir-fry.

it's such a GOOD feeling to have a full freezer, makes me feel, oh, I dunno, SAFE ??

and we really like raising all our own meat, that way we know exactly what they ate, and how they were treated.

gas has dropped to its LOWEST price in ten YEARS here, so we stocked up all our containers, kerosene, diesel, butane, and regular gas.

never know when the price is going to shoot up again, and I'd be kicking myself if I didn't plan ahead.

so, now we can run the generator to protect the contents of the chest freezer next time the power fails (which it does very often here, the grid is seriously unstable.)

got out the map, gassed up the truck, laid out my clothes, as you can see, I'm getting excited about my VERY FIRST GTG in Belize.

Twink is arriving via cruise ship on Wednesday, and we're going to meet her and DH for lunch...

in the photos, I'll be the one with a paper BAG over my HEAD, and Twink will be the one with bags over her LEGS.

hey all, LONG day.
first I worked 6am-1pm, rushed out and dropped checks off to the bank, came home quick to change. My parents picked me up by a little before 2pm, then we picked my sister up. We all went to my dads apt, well I didnt go in, as long as sister did to have another set of ears, so we get the scoop good.

anyhow, I was having so much trouble sitting still in the waiting room, my body so numbish and ancy...ugggg

But my dad, well the CAT scan didnt show any other cancer stuff so far, the CAt was of abdomen, chest area.

He will be having surgery a week from tomorrow, up north there. They will remove the one spot from colon, and then also peek with camera at the liver, just to take a peek. Also they will check the lymph nodes in that area as well.

Tomorrow when at work, I will rearrange my next Tuesday, as I want to go up to be with mom during dads surgery, and I will stay that day as long as she wants to. Probably into evening, till they kick us out.

My sister will also go I think wish us, but might then get picked up by hubby from there, (he works up north that area)

So that is the plan so far, we will see from then.

I am stiffening up badly after the car ride and sitting at puter here, so better shower and get to bed soon. Hugssssssssssssss, sarah

Thanks everyone for welcoming me. It looks like Chocolate is everyone's favorite. Mine too! I think one of the coolest scientific discoveries was when they found out dark choclate is healthy for your heart. I think we women already knew that!

Is anyone else still trying to finish up the holidays? I still have a few Christmas Cards to send (thankfully, my card this year is just a picture of the 2 dogs with a winter theme, so it won't be too odd for the people reciving it so late), and the ingredients for homemeade eggnog intended for New Year's Eve is still sitting in the fridge. But most things have been finished up and no one seemed to care that I scaled Christmas way back this year.

The dogs all had a great Christmas. My huibby had this idea: we let the dogs decide how often, when, and for how long we played with them on Christmas day. They loved it of course!

Wahoo, cleaning lady is coming in the morning after being MIA for almost a month....

So you know me I got a cleaning spirt about an hour ago and did the kitchen. I don't want to pay her 20 bucks an hour to do dishes...I can't do floors at all so we will focus on them and the bathrooms...I'm so silly.

Now Watch he not show up...

Tami, I've been thinking of hiring someone to do the floors and things I just cannot physically do anymore. My boys help out a bunch but......well, you know they don't/can't do it the way Mom wants it done!!

I'd love it if I could get someone to come do the bathrooms each week. Maybe get the hardwood floors steam cleaned once a month....I have the steam cleaner just don't have the strength to do all the floors. Everything is hardwood except the bedrooms (and bathrooms, of course). I'm such a fanatic about the bathrooms being clean and with two boys living here it's a nearly impossible feat!

We're supposed to get up to 4" of rain today so I will be staying indoors. Got all my errands done yesterday....didn't feel like doing them but now I'm so glad I did.

Sue, your dogs sound like my cats!! They run the place here and know it!! But.....they bring me so much enjoyment and they're so cute that they just get away with everything!! They are definitely part of the family.

Everyone have a great day!
