well, I sorta lost my marbles last night - trying to figure everything out and if I can move back towards my friends up in GB ... guess I'm going to have to survive like they did before SS was ever around ...

so, going to start making and selling totes, runners, towels etc ... have to .. and here I thought I'd get a break with $$ from Uncle Sam ... there's always $$ to support those in jail ... HEY, now there's an idea!

I posted on the "Thrift and Making Do" Thread about my adventures at the grocery store this morning! I'm so excited!! I also posted the recipe Joelle gave me for homemade dishwasher detergent. I'm going to make some when my Electrasol/Finish is gone.

I am so determined to save as much $$ as I can......is there such a thing as being a little too obsessed about this?? I flipped the light out in Matt's room last night while he was still in there!! I didn't see him....he was on the other side of the bed on the floor working on his duty belt! As soon as I turned around I heard "Hey!" and his head popped up across the bed!! LOL!!

I haven't gotten take-out or eaten out in ages. I love a challenge and I'm going to keep track and see how much $$ I can save between now and next January. It's not like I have much of a choice.....my income has been drastically reduced....but at least I can make it fun and challenging. It's amazing how many ways you can find to stretch a dollar if you just look.

I just thought I would let you all know that Sandy is really excited.

I went out and ran my errands. It is only 18 degrees, but with no wind and lots of sun, it felt really nice out.

Wasn't really the time of year we wanted to come here either, LOL! Hubby's job has him in training (he keeps wondering whose bright idea this was ), and SIL lives in duluth. We'll meet up with her tomorrow. Originally it was to be today, but she doesn't think my one year old niece will handle the long drive too well.

So tomorrow night I finally get to see the little firecracker for the first time. I can't wait!!!!

I am getting so excited about the inauguration, I can hardly stand it. I have both bio and adopted kids. My adopted kids are all either black or bi-racial-and I am so happy for them. I never thought I would see this day in my lifetime. I personally think our new president was a wise choice for our country because of his temperament, intellect and abilities. But the fact that we are swearing in an African American as president, 6 days after King's 80th birthday is just so great. I was a teenager when King died, and it seemed like a big piece of hope died with him. Now it seems like hope has been reborn.

i have been wondering why the Inaugural wasnt set up for today, what better way to honor Dr. King and his dream then the first black president inaugurated on his Bday, at least his govt appt bday, some say it takes away from King, I dont know I think that it would of been the highest tribute to a man, that i still admire

I just got my credit card paid off only to have my water heater go out.

I'm excited about the Inauguration, too! I've saved articles and special sections from our paper so that I'll have a piece of history to give to my grandchildren (if I ever get any!). It's so exciting to see history in the making!
