I am so happy for you, I know what it means to you.

I had phone messages from my daughter that passed away two years ago this week. The home messages I lost when I did not back them up. The cell phone ones I made a copy of. It is a good thing too, because I accidently deleted one last week when I hit delete instead of save.

I can not watch videos of her yet, but I can listen to her voice and for a few minutes think she is just away....

I made videos of the last holidays my Dad was with us and am stilling looking for a way to save them from the 8 mm. to a DVD. I know there is hardware/software....but I am still trying to figure outhow to use the stuff I bought to make my 45's and Albums into CD's.

Make lots of copies. Also, if you can save copies out of your home, never know when a disaster happens and they are gone for good.

Thanks everyone for sharing in my serendipitous joy!!! I'm going to begin transcribing next week when I get my computer and internet at Dad's house. (I'm living there now).

DiMarie, I'm so sorry about your dear daughter. I hadn't realized it was just 2 years since you lost her. Her picture proves what a beauty she was. How fortunate she was to have you for her Mom.

Ro,
Thanks so much, the love and kindness I have from so many dear friends keeps me going. Transcribing the works will be herished forever by your family.
I made family trees and photos, on my mothers side of the family and was so surprised how many wanted a copy. I had used top quality archive paper, a cover and had a spiral bound and printed at Copy Max.

Hugs to you
di

Looks to me like you'd better run to the litter box ASAP!

Thanks everyone for your kind remarks. The clergy visited today and knew I was recording, so asked questions specifically that encouraged Dad to talk. I was able to record another hour or so. Some stories were repeats, but what the heck.

YEAH!!!! Quick, load it on to your computer and then burn the voice files on to a disc.

I am so glad that you got the voice files back. What a great stories to share with family, not only now but for generations to come.
