I am so glad that you got the voice files back. What a great stories to share with family, not only now but for generations to come.
Yes, there are some great stories.

One of my favorites is when he spent his life savings ($3,000) on a pre-war dual axle truck (piece of junk) to be able to haul things for people as a way to earn a living.

He was making a trip down a steep, curvy canyon road with a half ton Hog in the back. The pig was hot and squealing loudly when Dad felt a big "thunk" and watched the rear wheels/axles bounce down the mountain like a couple of elk.

When the tow truck showed up, Dad then had to steer backwards all the way to town (again, with the squealing pig in the back). A man gave him $100 for the pig and Dad slept at a motel. The man was waiting in the lobby the next morning and demanded his $100 back: THE PIG HAD DIED!!!

tkrik, I may start a new thread with this story, and ask for people to contribute their own stories.
