I have to admit that at one time I was quite the Nascar fan. With DH working at GM and Dale Ernhardt being "the man" there it was sort of expected that we'd be Ernhardt fans.

It's been a while since I've watched a race. I have tons of Dale Ernhardt memorabilia, diecast cars, autographs, autographed hats, shirts, etc. packed away in a big box. Everyone tells me I should sell it.....it'd be worth alot of money. But I can't. It was Tim's and one of the boys might want it one day. Plus it still means something to me....it was one of his hobbies and I don't think he'd want me to sell it.

I know the feeling!

My DH retired from duPont so he is a Jeff Gordon fan. I joke it was a requirement for duPont retirement pension.

He has a "shrine" in what was our office with EVERYTHING from the early days to present and all the collectibles everywhere on shelves on the walls and posters on the ceiling!!

We have run out of wall space so some went to the closet which were duplicates or newer so not as valuable and he even sold a few.

You would not believe all the caps he has! We have a life size stand-up of Jeff in the corner and the dog growled at it every time he saw it for awhile.

I still growl when I have to dust all the stuff.

I keep telling DH well dear right after your funeral it is ALL going on e-bay and I will be a rich old lady with a real office!!

This is what he does....

Oh well; I am not one for racing but if that is his only vice I am a very happy, lucky lady!!

I'll be cheering for Marcus Ambrose who's starting off position 23. Not only is Marcus an Australian, but he comes from my home state.

Wow! What a race! Too bad it ended early due to rain, but Matt Kenseth was so humble and emotional after the win. He's a WI boy, so was glad to see him shine. Of course, I'm still rooting for Tony and Jr.

Next week ~~ California

Hey DM! You were supposed to watch for the guy from my home state here in Aussie on my behalf! You forgot, didn't you?

I read in the newspaper that he finished 17th. That's not too bad for a home grown Tasmanian lad!

My 22 yr old son loves NASCAR & Jeff Gordon was always his favorite. He has lots of memorabilia also (I bet not as much as the older (not old) people). He took down his curtain & now has a Jeff Gordon flag covering his shade.
He took computer courses at college becuz he wants to be a computer technologist. One class required him to make a l comp. site & he choose NASCAR.
