.... Didn't she say that the doctor implanted six each time for the other six? And only one was born except for the twins in those six? I believe she said she thought that she would only have one or maybe two this time when she got the eight.
That's what I heard; Dr. Phil, I think it was, cited the sum of embryos frozen, but I don't remember the total (and am too tired to do the math). God bless us taxpayers... one and all. Without us, where would the babies be and who would feed the li'l children. :grouphug: |
“He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her.”
I'm not a Christian, as most probably know :) , but I DO remember this particularly and I try to temper my thoughts and actions and to adhere to this because I believe it transends all boundaries into our life here on earth. I try not to be judgemental. Sadly, I often fail. I understand the thoughts posted. I just don't think our judgement can help those children. I believe however, that our positive thoughts might in some small way accumulate. Love to you all. I understand how you're feeling. I am horrified, but sometimes I think we need to sift off our thoughts in more positive ways and show it with action. In this situation I don't know the answers. I just figure those children need our help. |
Christian or not - that we should need to pick up the pieces for this young lady or anyone else is rather pushing the envelope - I firmly believe that if you can't afford your purchase - then don't buy it - the same goes for having children - there are options open - birth control - abstinence - and not having eggs implanted - it seems to be the height of stupidity to have 14 children when you are unwed - living with your aged parents in a house that is being forclosed on - without a job - supposedly with a back issue - and I certainly am glad - as I have previously said - that I don't live in California where they will be supporting this woman and her brood - I also have stated that I do not think she will be a competent parent so California will be paying social workers to contend with all of this for about 18 years !

I know. It's really sad and it's shocking.
I wasn't wanting to stop people talking about it when I wrote my message. It's just the way I feel about it myself. I feel so badly for all of those children. I'm feeling particularly jaded with the whole media onslaught. Not a day seems to go by where they're not on the television. I don't know the answers unfortunately. I just want to send out some positive energy to all the little children. They're going to need heaps of it. |
Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on one's views and on how the entire fiasco is assessed: The babies are taken care of since the hospital is passing along its costs or, maybe, its just sharing (like it or not, since California taxpayer's weren't asked for our input and no "vote" was taken).
Sure wish I could float my medical expenses and taxpayers would absorb the bulk of the bills. Oh, I forgot: I haven't stockpiled embryos and stuff. My mistake. When I have to help pay for the babies' birth-related expenses and aftercare, I don't think that saying the Mom shouldn't be overseeing any possible administration of donations is too harsh. Maybe, one day, state taxpayers won't take issue if I ask them to pay my bills if I act without, first, thinking of the possible consequences. Right :winky:. |
ARGH, she's going to sell her video of the birth as a source of money! I definately DO NOT want to see that!

as my late grandmother, Nanny, used to say..SHE is a piece of work.:(
dear god bless those sweet babies:( |
Dr. Phil seems to have adopted this whole situation. Guess he feels that if anyone can fix it.....he can.
Apparently her father bought her and her kids a 4 bedroom house. Hard to believe that a 2500 sq. ft. 4-bedroom home will be cramped for her but it will with all those children there. A group has offered 24/7 wrap-around care for all 14 children. I cannot think of the name of the group but it's made up of neonatal nurses and people with the skills and training needed to take care of these children. Here is a link that explains all of it: http://www.drphil.com/shows/show/1243/ |

I saw the show yesterday and they were showing it later on Access Hollywood. They described the house as 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a big backyard. Now you take 14 children, one mother and 10 caretakers (because you need at least 10 for the first year, right?) That's 25 people, 24 hours a day sharing 3 bathrooms. There had better be extra toilets in those 3 bathrooms. Because with 14 kids there is no "please get out of the bathroom, I have to pee". THERE IS; "Get the heck out of there or I'll bash the door in" And I cannot WAIT until they are teens. Ever see a teenager in the bathroom. THEY NEVER GET OUT. I didn't know her dad bought the house. And has anyone else noticed that this woman is always controlled, calm and knows exactly what to say. SHE'S NEVER FRAZZLED. Melody |
