I hope the new doctor is great to! It's virtually impossible to get an answer these days when you ask about one. Everyone is afraid to lose their job or has no clue. But don't you worry, if this one doesn't work out I'll move to the next one.

Default Yea Sandy!!

You go girl!! You did the right thing.

Sounds like your old doctor is a goof. As for your palpitations....you definitely need to get these checked out by a good cardiologist.

Most likely you will need a stress test and a Holter [24 hour] monitor. Do not let anyone prescribe heart meds without your having had a diagnosis of the heart problem {From a former cardiac nurse}

Having Tricare [ or try-n-get-care] as we call it in our house is always interesting. It seems that the doctors who accept tricare are not always the cream of the crop!!

Best of luck with your new doc and hopefully you all won't have to see him too often but get those 'pitty-pats' [technical tern]checked out!!

Take care
Risby

Good for you, Sandy. I can't speak for everyone but I'm tired of doctors feeling like they "own" you and can dictate what treatments you can and can't have.

I hope you find a new doctor that listens to you and works with you to keep you healthy.

Sandy, every state has an online Medical Board. You can search for your new Dr's name there. It will list any disciplanary actions if any.

Here is a link to every state:

If you don't feel good about the new one, don't wait, look for another. Our health coverage changed, so we went to another doctor listed and she tried to do things she shouldn't have to be "the Guardian" of our care, avoid referrels out and keep all alloted money to herself to keep costs down. Health insurance changed, we got to go back to old Dr., she is very concerned and almost over-refers us out on any suspicion of trouble - urologists, neurologists, PT and wheelchair scrip, Now she wants me to get in-home care, honestly I don't think I'm at that point but they could pay for my house cleaning as I no longer can do it. If she feels my MS neurologist is too slow. She oversees everything my neurologist does, had encouraged me to change MS neurologists based on her research of their abilities. PCPs like this are a treasure and we think ourselves lucky. Sandy, you and Jim deserve the best. Shop around. (our new insurance way back gave us a book of in-network PCPs. Got sick, called the one we had chosen, turned out he'd been dead for several years!!)

Sandy, I have fired many a Dr. I hire them. I owe them no loyalty. They get paid by me or the insurance company I contract with.

Interview a prospective Dr. Don't go in for an exam first. Who takes their clothes off for a stranger? One date atleast.

A mechanic screws up your car...you take it back to them? Nope..you find someone else.

Go woth your gut too. Bad vibes..walk out.

Sandy, I'm so glad for you that you got a new Dr.

(Getting the files wet reminds me of a movie I just saw. Someone deleted them.)
