My wife & I learned about trigger points several years ago when I was referred to a trigger point therapist by a pain management doctor/clinic. The woman was amazing because of her knowledge, experience, & skill, and was able to relieve a lot of pain for me in my scalenes & under the shoulder blade in just a couple of visits. Unfortunately, I have some trigger points that keep re-activating (or are perpetually active) due to underlying spinal issues. Rather than keep us returning, she taught us how to find & treat our trigger points ourselves. She recommended the Trigger Point Therapy Workbook and a Thera Cane, both of which we've been using and benefitting from since, for a variety of trigger point issues. http://www.triggerpointbook.com/ http://www.theracane.com/ FWIW, can you explain the difference, if any, between a masseur/masseuse, a massage therapist, and a trigger point therapist? Licensing? Regulatory? Geographic terminology? Thanks, Doc
