Default back pain since fall at work

hi i had a fall at work a year ago and injured my thoracic and lower back at the time i had a lot of physio and felt ok but back was still very weak. a year to the day at work my back popped lifting a bin i have had an mri done the results of it are

the anatomy of the thoracic spine is well visualised. the alignment is normal ,there is disc space narrowing with disc degeneration and mild posterior bulging of T6/7 and T7/8 intervertebral discs which slightly distort the thecal sac but without any obvious nerve root encroachment.
the remainder of the thoracic spine shows no other specific abnormalitys

can anyone help me on this,,is this damage from the fall i had because i never had trouble with my back before this injury

okay... I'll try. not a doc

the anatomy of the thoracic spine is well visualised... means the films are of good quality.

the alignment is normal... meaning it is not out of alignment. That's a good thing.

there is disc space narrowing ... discs are soft tissues, spongy shock-absorbers. narrowing is the beginning of problems. the space where this disc is, for whatever reason, is less room than it should be.

with disc degeneration... most the time means aging process going on.

and mild posterior bulging of T6/7 and T7/8 intervertebral discs... radiologist grade bulges as "mild" "moderate" or "severe"... bulging like a knot on a tire. better than herniations. Bulges can sometimes go back in. I had one do that. Mild is a good chance for that to happen.

which slightly distort the thecal sac but without any obvious nerve root encroachment... as best he can tell, the nerve roots are not being squeezed or hurt by less space for the disc.

the remainder of the thoracic spine shows no other specific abnormalities... read the IMPRESSION section of the report. it can tell you more like a diagnosis.

You can have degenerative changes going on and not have any problems until you have an EVENT that brings symptoms into "reality" - starts hurting.

Degenerative changes are considered arthritis changes, too. Defense argue this point all the time, but we are human not machines. We will age and wither away. doctors can't replace sponges or oil us like a car. degenerative changes don't happen over night or in a month but over time, and MILD would mean to me it's not a longstanding degenerative process of changes going on in you.

Pain is pain. If you're having problems after a fall, I say the fall caused you to have pain. Pain is compensable. I'm on your side.

Doctors and lawyers need to prove why you're having pain to establish liability. Don't get lost in the shuffle of that task.

Find good treatment and fight like hell.

Default Look for SI joint injury

Hi there...just a suggestion about your pain...one of the common areas overlooked by many medical folks is the sacrolisic joint, this is what attaches the pelvis to the spine. Falls, and rear end car collisions are at the top of the list for provoking the pain.
I have been dealing with it for more than 4 years, and now have a doctor who understands the injury.
It mimicks alot of other "back pain" symptoms also, and is very easy to diagnose, but doctors aren't really trained to look for it.

I have learned much from the internet...take time to Google,,and you can possibly help determine if this is part of your issues.

Good Luck!
