Exclamation Full Moon-itis

I couldn't agree more. Yesterday I was blaaaaaaah! Everything hurt, especially my mood. I even got a little teary when my husband arrived home from work at 9:30pm. And then I couldn't sleep. Hot flashes. Then while 'lurking' I saw this announcement and said to myself, "Of course, there's a full moon." I do believe that it has an effect on me. Always did.

I did go out and got the neighborhood dogs all barking as I tentatively walked around the house and looked at that magnificent ball in the sky with my little binoculars... It was grand. I loved it and was so glad to see the notice... It was the clearest sky I've seen since I moved to Pittsburgh. (enough said about that!)

I think I'd better start keeping track of full moons so I can warn my husband!

hot flashes? Have you ever had one of those "cool pillows" you get for about 20 bucks-they work pretty well. Oh-and do you have a mister? They are good if they are a very very fine spray. And have you ever seen one of those flexible ice packs? Made of little 1" pillows so that the whole square can then be folded or wrapped around a liter bottle? Well, they feel pretty good fresh out of the freezer. Of course, you can always put a bag of frozen corn or peas in your pillow, but that is kind of wasteful...and there are all of those little kids in China...

now for full moon stories-working in the ER is a real trip on full moon nights-always brought out the "interesting" cases, like the man with a cartridge ink pen in his urethra-or the guy with it stuck in a pop bottle-that one made the mistake of telling his wife he had been mugged, so she showed up at the hospital demanding they call the cops so a full report could be made-everyone was trying so hard to tiptoe around that case...

how wonderful to be compared to your daughters!

maybe I am your long lost daughter (of course you would have had to have had me when you were very, very young!

(if you have heard nurse stories-you know those two I told are very tame)

P.S. My DH think I am typing a profile for him right now. lol shhh

That's me...a child bride! *grin Just had to check out the road...a zillion sirens went past...police, fire, ambulences...waiting for them to come back. Lots to see when I'm on Mr.Alffe's puter...it faces the street..mine is upstairs in the middle bedroom and faces a wall. Nothing ever happens on that wall....oh wait..occasionally I hear things in that wall...critters, flying squirrels I think.

Also I remembered to wheel the recycables to the road...now where is Nikki?

Default I remember the Sky

I was in Australia in 2007, in the Outback on June 30.

I remember the sky---so many stars, more than I ever saw in any sky. There were no city lights to interfere with our ability to see the stars. And planets, we saw three. I will never forget that sky, it was as if I too could touch the Dreamtime.

Thank you Alffe, I went with 41 students and 3 other teachers-first time the kids were speechless too. --- could you explain the stones? sounds interesting.

In your introduction you said sometimes you sink like a stone and I wanted to let you know that one of us would come along and pick you up...now that you've joined this family..you're part of our "collection".

Australia has always been on my to-do list but I'm running out of time. One of our old time members, Mango Shade who has since passed away shared many outback stories with us. He is missed.
