dns...I can't remember if you said what your dx is..what the cause of your pain is. I've spent quite a bit of time this morning reading at the Parkinson Forum because when I am depressed and discouraged I need to remind myself that other people are living with far worse things than I.
I find my "struggles" almost laughable when I read of the pain and frustration others live with on a daily basis.

I don't think anyone is labeling you.

Sorry, just deleted that one, been a rough couple of days... too whiney.. I get "testy" sometimes... had a smoke and re-read that one and realized it was not good.
Trust me, you get labeled if you take pain meds... "society" looks down on that..
Pain comes both ways, mental and physical, both suck I think.

That's one of the reasons I think talk therapy is golden. Changing your thinking behavior. Chase away the unnecessary monkey chatter.

I'm not offended,,, know what you meant... I actually find the labeling somewhat funny. I used to have a super great sense of humor, still do buried somewhere inside. some days are just too rough though.. you can also use the labeling to your advantage too. forgot something? blame the meds.. fell down? ditto... went fishing instead of mowing the lawn.. must be the meds.. (the last one is a bit tough though)

Would not be easy.. have a tough time getting (and keeping) thoughts in order in real time.. gotta think about things and sometimes write them down to keep them straight.. not a fun conversationalist. I also do not like talking to people "face to face" in a way.. quiet is better..

(((dns))) I understand what you are saying. But I still can't emphasize enough to others how helpful a good therapist can be. I saw 3 different therapists before finding the perfect one for me. And it is work. At the age of 62, I am determined this time around to change some bad mental habits! (Wait, I think I'm 61, LOL, never can remember.) I know in the throes of depression and pain it's difficult just facing each day...let alone committing to being involved in talk therapy. I really do.

It's just so hard for people to make that first phone call. And just like antidepressants or meds in general, you can end up on a merry-go-round until you find the right med for you. To me, that's the same thing with therapists and 'shopping' for the right one can be so frustrating.

It's kinda sad to say, but being with this wonderful group we call NeuroTalk, gives me some comfort to know that others also are in the same boat. And we can glean from these amazing people a lot of good information and develop wonderful friendships along the way.

I do hope that you can see how much we all care though. Thank you for sharing what you have.

Sheesh, I've been talking a lot in here. I'm afraid I'm one of those who disappears from NT for long periods of time, but I think of everyone here every single day.

Not sure I have the energy... plus to be totally honest, there are aspects of my life I do not want to bring up, they are better off buried. Some really hurt and some are bad, there is no way I could talk to somebody about them. I thought I had life under control and then recently things just came down really bad and I found myself stuck and confused. gotta figure things out and regroup somehow, not sure how though. some of the thoughts I have these days are not too nice, not good at all. not good. not good.. Think it is time to maybe shut up.. I appreciate you listening though, you all are so nice... you all seen so normal, i don't know how you do it. maybe I will just lurk around until I get myself together if you don't mind.. see if I can figure it out.. peace... dns...
