Confused What do you when you do nothing else but hurting people you love?

I suffer from bipolar diorder and i must say i'm fed up with all the medicine i have to take every day! I'd better be dead than to go on like that. I see no result! I just keep on diappointing and hurting everyone. I don't seem to be normal... So what's the point?

Hi Axelle and welcome. I have a wonderful daughter who struggles with BiPolar illness so I have some knowledge of it. We have a Bipolar forum here...http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum38.html

and you will find others there who are knowledgable regarding the various meds for it. I hear your depression talking...

Please know that you aren't alone and talking about what we are feeling helps us. Depression is a beast.

Hi Axelle welcome to SOS.............

I too am Bi-Polar and until two weeks ago was off meds for over a year................needless to say in time i needed to return to medication as i have been truly climbing the walls recently,

as for disapointing people...ive been there done that....got a BIG t-shirt.

thoughts of not being around...making things better .........been there too very recently..............

BUT I LIVE IN HOPE that i will return to a sense of normality...............

life is one hell of a roller coaster dear friend we have to ride it and learn not be sick off the dips curves and inclines............learn to wave your arms in exhilleration and joy of the thrill

PLEASE DONT COME OFF THE MEDS .....without direct medical supervision..........you will feel much worse in the long run............

Take time out to concentrate on YOU,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,disapointing others happens......................true friends stand by and guide you through...the darkness.

keep talking Axelle it really does help........

David

Have you tried a new psychiatrist (or whoever prescribes your meds?) Also try a new therapist. If you are taking your drug as prescribed then you should not be feeling that you disappoint and hurt everyone. Perhaps the drugs are not right for you. There are many different drugs for bi-polar disorder. Give yourself a break and holler for help!

Hi Axelle

Good advice from my friends above!

So... we hurt people we love... what can we do about that...

We can apologize.

We can make excuses... but perhaps, we should turn those excuses into explanations... There's a difference, you know.

Explanation... I was overtired, I didn't eat right, I went off my meds, I thought I could handle it myself... I was getting my period, I have a cold...

With the explanation comes knowledge... for both you and those you affect.

It, in no way, excuses what happened to cause hurt.

You will learn to understand how your personal situations exacerbate your illness... begin to recognize the signals - the debilitating loss of rationalization...

Its not easy... it takes a ton of exhausting personal work.

And its all worth it in the long run...
