He has asked me to be a co-presenter with him to a group of 9th grade girls on self injury awareness..... I told him i'd have to think about it, but it didn't take long for me to decide. If i can say something to help even one person or prevent even one person from getting caught up in this, then it will be worth it....

Oh this is wonderful news Goofy....experience is the best teacher my dad always said. When I think back to BrainTalk and our first "exchanges" there......I am so very proud of you.

Experience is the greatest teacher!! So many young girls and young men are experiencing or contemplating what you have already been through.

Be strong... I know you will! I only wish I were able to be there to hear you message myself.

I'm proud of you too Goofy. We all know how impressionable young people are and there's no better time better time in their lives to start a program like this ..... to let them know that help is out there and how to get it ..... to let them know that others care.

Thank you so much.... I've been second guessing myself ever since i told him i'd do it..... sigh..... trust me i still fight the urge on a daily basis and there have been times recently the urge has won..... BUT like i said if i can say something to help even one person avoid getting wrapped up in this, then i'll do it.

Do it! You remind me of the couple here that go into the high schools and talk about their sons suicide...tears stream down their faces and their voices shake but they get the message across to these kids in a way no one else can..they have been there and done that.

As you so aptly said Goofy...if you can help even one person avoid this path it will be worth the pain.
