I lost my brother to suicide a couple of months ago, I have no family here, where I live. Everyone expects me to be fine. I traveled 24hrs to get to his funeral, I left my kids and husband at home for 4 days, then I traveled another 24hrs to get home. My husband, Yes was waiting for me at the airport, but his only concern was when we were going to have sex again. Now correct me if I'm wrong. I found this to be extremely insensitive. During the following weeks, I was *edit* at for being sad, I was actually even pushed to the ground and kicked for being such a depressing person. I know this is obviously, intolerable behavior, this is why I'm here. If I talk about the suicide, it's a problem, nobody wants to talk about.

milo I am so sorry for your loss!! I don't know what foreign country you live in but your husband is not only insensitive, he is cruel. Behavior like his is never acceptable. You need to grieve....you need to have the time to grieve the loss of your loved one and suicide has so many difficult areas to overcome...guilt, anger...etc.

Please know that you have come to the right place to talk about it...you aren't alone and talking heals us.

I am so sorry for your loss.

WHen I lost my Dad ( not to suicide) my Significant Other at the time , told me after I was home a week to get over it!!! No one has a right to tell you how to greive.

Please continue to post and read here....I think you will find some comfort in the words and in the support you will find.

Milo, I'm sorry about your loss. Your husband is barbaric, I'm sorry, but I've been in an abuse relationship and you don't deserve such cruel treatment.

Each person grieves differently and each over different periods of time. My cousin shot himself and I'm still angry with him almost a year later. I keep waiting for his call which will never come again. I ask myself, how would your husband have felt if the situation was reversed?

To get over all that comes with suicide, this is the one place, no one judges, no one points fingers...we all have dealt with it.

COK I know from experience that anger is a huge part of grieving over the sucide of a loved one. It took me years to get over that anger and to forgive our son.
