It's funny that you ask.... I was just coming in to update everyone. :) Mom had an appointment with her NeuroOncologist today.... Apparently they use a scale of 1 to whatever...my dad didn't say to determine the need for Chemo. My mom is @ 11, which means.....NO CHEMO. Dad said if she were say a 35 she would definitely be having chemo. They said if they did chemo at her level would only lower it by 1.5%. She has less than an 11% chance of recurrance in the next 3 years. An 89% chance that IT WONT!!!!! (I'll take those odds) She will go back every 3 months for PET and CT Scans. Mom looks GREAT!!! She has lost a LOT of weight but they said she had so much backed up in her system and when they removed the tumor everything moved through....thus the weight is gone. She went down 2 pant sizes. She has more energy now and her color looks good...she was very gray. She still has limitations on lifting but try and tell her that. They are planning their vacation.... leaving mid October....not sure when they will be home....I'm guessing mid to late November. (Just guessing, but wouldn't blame them!!) I want to thank each and every one of you for your prayers, positive thoughts, and uplifting words. I truly cherish them. This has been one of the longest years of my life....thank you all for helping me to breathe through it all. Abbie |
