Cool Smirk

Sam,

Your focus is where it should be right now. Fake friends are mere chaff in the wind, true friendships will appear and develop in time - and you have plenty of that. Maybe when your peers have an outlook as mature as yours?

Certainly never let other's unthinking actions affect your Mood.

Dave.

Well put Dave,

I agree Sam, you are your number one priority and don't have time or energy to waste on anyone who is not a positive in your life. It is so good to see you feeling focused and more upbeat. I hope the new supplement makes a difference in speeding things along. Congrats on the dietary changes. Those are huge for anyone, especially a teen (I have my own Cookie Monster in the house).

Keep up the good work!

Hi everyone!

So my thyroid lab results came back. I am slightly low. I'm not sure if being slightly low could cause depersonalization/my dream like state.
The results:

Free T3 Mine: 346 Normal range: 230-420
Free T4 Mine: 1.14 Normal range: 1.16-1.71 <-- Slightly low!
TSH Mine: 2.52 Normal range: 0.50-4.90

Still waiting for the adrenal/cortisol results. If that comes back normal I would be so upset and shocked and would not know what in the world to do.

I need help. Someone please.

Some people, like your father, aren't able to understand the hurdles people face if they can't see tangible evidence a problem exists or if someone isn't diagnosed with a widely understood condition. I'm sure that his lack of understanding is hurtful. I'm sorry for that But I'm glad that your mother is supportive.

When your mind is racing or you start to have dark thoughts, Try reminding yourself it's just your anxiety and depression ****ing with you. It seems to make things easier for me sometimes.

What are you doing now to try to distract yourself from these kind of thoughts?

To distract myself I've just been doing the same stuff. Playing video games, listening to music, and exercising.

I just don't see the point of all this suffering. I just want to feel better..

Default Any plans

Thinking about you
As I think about my childhood
And what would be going on
When coming into this country
and learning at the age of five
I would eventually became a citizen
My parents would have a cook out
And do not think they really understood
the magnitude of it all
Fireworks across the river when I was six and every year after that

What are you doing on this very special day

Hoping there are moments that "feeling" be lifted and gone
Like a blink of an eye
But you know you need to be patient
It will happen
You be well
Thinking of you
Love
Me

People of faith find comfort in God, and some tend to think that there is a reason for all things…

But I can't find that comfort, and I don't see the point of all our suffering either.

However, I am proud of all of the suffering I've been able to endure. It's a show of strength and resiliency. You are strong too, Sam. It is not fair that you have to go through all this ****, but you haven't given in. You have been doing everything you can to get better. You are a fighter.

I know things are taking a long time, and you just want to get better. You will. Just keep fighting

I'm glad that you are finding ways of distracting yourself. I don't know how you could do more…

I find deep breathing exercises helpful when I'm anxious. A breath in through the nose, out through the mouth is "one," the next set is "two," and so forth. It's simple, can be done anywhere, anytime, and can also provide temporary distraction.

Thinking of you Sam

Default A tiny message

Hoping you have some clarity
and that you are able to smile in your day
Thinking about you
and your braveness
It is a good thing you know
yourself
As only you do
I am hoping you have done some homework
on the findings
So much knowledge

Be well
Love
Me

It's very possible we have grown more irratible due to the concussion. Perhaps a fresh start would be good for you. Think about transferring schools or if that is out of the question remember college isn't too far away. Try a new activity. I started rock climbing and have met some terrific people while being able to take some of the edge and stress of running off.

New here on the "Survivors of suicide forums". Been very active for almost a year on the traumatic brain injury and post concussion syndrome forums.. And I love it there. And will continue to stay active there.

But I'm here for help, advice, and just overall talk to people who are willing to listen. So, here's my story, and why I'm here.

I'm Sam and I'm going to be 15 years old in October. Many tell me I'm extremely mature for my age.

Let's start...

At the beginning of this suffering.

October 17, 2014, I hit my head playing football on my friends lawn. Without knowing, I continued to play and had a concussion. Weeks passed, then months, and I was diagnosed with Post Concussion Sydrome. Been suffering with a nightmare feeling of feeling in a dream like state all the time. Everything feels more unreal than usual.

Been suffering with it for almost a year now. I'm extremely sensitive, and every so often I just break down and cry. I cry so hard it hurts. I hate myself, and I have no friends. I have one friend that's a girl that I talk to, but that's about it. I'm so scared, and loosing hope, and want to just end this because I feel like I will never get better.

My everyday life consists of me either hiding in my room, playing video games all day, and sleeping. My parents and family get extremely angry when they see this, and want me to go outside and hang with my friends. What they don't realize is that I honestly have none. For some reason everyone hates me, and I struggle to find true friends that actually want to hangout with me for me.

Hopefully someone out there cares.
Sam
