Movie night with my daughter and loving up my granddoody. And being excited about picking up my newly adopted dachsund next weekend!

Getting so so tired of the snow. Every morning it seems I walk out the door to work and it has snowed during the night. Ugh, go away winter!

Don't forget...spring forward on your clocks this Sunday!

My sweet Bruna that I pick up next weekend and bring to her new home (Bruna was born in a Missouri puppy mill cage and stayed in it until last year when she was rescued)....

Thumbs up My plate ..........

I've tried to avoid my plate for a few days because it's been over loaded with pretty hateful stuff. Then this morning I received this email. Made me think.

Going Home

A pastor had been on a long flight between church conferences. The first warning of the approaching problems came when the sign on the airplane flashed on: Fasten Your Seat Belts.

Then, after a while, a calm voice said, "We shall not be serving the beverages at this time as we are expecting a little turbulence. Please be sure your seat belt is fastened."

As the pastor looked around the aircraft, it became obvious that many of the passengers were becoming apprehensive.
Later, the voice on the intercom said, "We are so sorry that we are unable to serve the meal at this time. The turbulence is still ahead of us."

And then the storm broke . . .

The ominous cracks of thunder could be heard even above the roar of the engines. Lightning! lit up the darkening skies, and within moments that great plane was like a cork tossed around on a celestial ocean. One moment the airplane was lifted on terrific currents of air; the next, it dropped as if it were about to crash.

The pastor confessed that he shared the discomfort and fear of those around him. He said, "As I looked around the plane, I could see that nearly all the passengers were upset and alarmed. Some were praying. The future seemed ominous and many were wondering if they would make it through the storm.

"Then, I suddenly saw a little girl. Apparently the storm meant nothing to her. She had tucked her feet beneath her as she sat on her seat; she was reading a book and every- thing within her small world was calm and orderly.
"Sometimes she closed her eyes, then she would read again; then she would straighten her legs, but worry and fear were not in her world.

When the plane was being buffeted by the terrible storm when it lurched this way and that, as it rose and fell with frightening severity, when all the adults were scared half to death, that marvelous child was completely composed and unafraid." The minister could hardly believe his eyes.

It was not surprising therefore, that when the plane finally reached its destination and all the passengers were hurrying to disembark, our pastor lingered to speak to the girl whom he had watched for such a long time.
Having commented about the storm and the behavior of the plane, he asked why she had not been afraid.
The child replied, "Cause my daddy's the pilot, and he's taking me home."

There are many kinds of storms that buffet us. Physical, mental, financial, domestic, and many other storms can easily and quickly darken our skies and throw our plane into apparently uncontrollable movement. We have all known such times, and let us be honest and confess, it is much easier to be at rest when our feet are on the ground than when we are being tossed about a darkened sky.

Let us remember: Our Father is the Pilot. He is in control and taking us home. Don't worry!

May God Smile on you today

I am awash in robins!! And most of the snow has melted! Plan on going to the outlet mall with my sister.....trying very hard to stay on my diet..and walk on the treadmill.

There was a very interesting article in my latest newsletter from the Compassionate Friends about affirmations and how they really work if you say them out loud. The author says that it's a way to replace negative messages with positive reinforcements. That by becoming aware of our limiting beliefs, it gives us the power to change them.

Her guidelines for effective affirmations are:

l. they must be personal.

2. They must be positive.

3. They must be in the present tense.

4. they must be specific.

5. they must be believable.

Imagine my surprise when I went to her website and found her to be
in my city. *grin

Affirmations by Glenda Person, www.livingthroughloss.com

Have a great day all. Hugs for the room.

and an extra warm one for our curious.

My movie night with my daughter tonight...No Country for Old Men.

And then tomorrow...picking up Bruna at noon from the Hearts United for Animals folks. They are meeting me halfway between Auburn, NE and here. I'm taking a couple days off next week to spend time with her and hopefully the weather will be nice so I can take her out in the fresh air and take her for walks in her new place of freedom.

Less than 24 hours to go Doody and you get to hold your sweet new love, Bruna.

I think she is so blessed that you found her.

There was no school today, so me and the girls had a chic day. Sat in the Jacuzzi tub, painted our nails and baked cookies. Shopped and now on to a chic flic.

Nina wasn't in such high spirits today. Pooring down rain, she did not get her walk and laid around all day.

I have been so sick these last couple of weeks and then got food poisoned Wednesday. Hopefully I'll be able to give the girls a great Easter next weekend.

Take care all.

I woke up thinking about Doody and wondered if she slept at all last night....between the excitement of getting her new doggie and watching "No Country For Old Men"..well it'd be hard to sleep a wink.

BJ I'm so sorry to read about Benton being ill....prayers going up for a speedy recovery. You tell Hooper that this marriage will never last...we were told it was to be an engagement party for them so the wedding was a real surprise..that little hussie!

No Hope, food poisoning is not fun at all. I hope you're feeling better and the rain quit so Nina can go outside.

Abbie I hope you got some sleep and I hope you have been able to enjoy those two sunny warm days we just had...must have been glorious there as it got to 60 here!

Wren...remember that I love you! And I'm so glad you're in my life.

We got in the hot tub last night and it was delightful...enjoyed the half moon before the clouds moved in and hid it. We always put the outside speakers on and sometimes the neighbors dog escapes and comes to visit with us and Cooper.

Curious I am sending positive thoughts your way.

I received this from a friend this morning....... Maybe I could leave it instead of whining again

Installing Love

Tech Support: Yes, how can I help you?

Customer: Well , after much consideration, I've decided to install Love. Can you guide me through the process?

Tech Support: Yes. I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?

Customer: Well, I'm not very technical, but I think I'm ready. What do I do first?

Tech Support: The first step is to open your Heart. Have you located your Heart?

Customer: Yes, but there are several other programs running now. Is it okay to install Love while they are Running?

Tech Support: What programs are running?

Customer: Let's see, I have Past Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge and Resentment running right now.

Tech Support : No problem, Love will gradually erase Past Hurt from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory but it will no longer Disrupt other programs. Love will eventually override Low Self-Esteem with a module of its own called High Self-Esteem. However, you have to completely turn off Grudge and Resentment. Those programs prevent Love from Being properly installed. Can you turn those off?

Customer: I don't Know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?

Tech Support: With pleasure. Go to your start menu and invoke Forgiveness. Do this as many times as necessary until Grudge and Resentment have been completely erased.

Customer: Okay, done! Love has started installing itself. Is that normal?

Tech Support: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other Hearts in order to get the upgrades.

Customer: Oops! I have an error message already. It says, 'Error - Program not run on external components.' What should I do?

Tech Support: Don't worry. It means that the Love program is set up to run on Internal Hearts, but has not yet been run on your Heart. In non-technical terms, it simply means you have to Love yourself before you can Love others.

Customer: So, what should I do?

Tech Support: Pull down Self-Acceptance; then click on the following files: Forgive-Self; Realize Your Worth; and Acknowledge your Limitations.

Customer: Okay, done.

Tech Support: Now, copy them to the 'My Heart' directory. The system will overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching faulty programming. Also, you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism from all directories and empty your Recycle Bin to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.

Customer: Got it. Hey! My heart is filling up with new files. Smile is playing on my monitor and Peace and Contentment are copying themselves all over My Heart. Is this normal ?

Tech Support: Sometimes. For others it takes awhile, but eventually everything gets it at the proper time. So Love is installed and running. One more thing before We hang up. Love is Freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to everyone you meet. They will in turn share it with others and return some cool modules back to you.

Customer: Thank you, God.

Went to airport to feed the meter...Mr.Alffe called me while on the train to say that he didn't and would I please so his car wouldn't get towed. Made more suet for the birds, scrubbed the kitchen floor.

Thinking about Kell and her back surgery today (thanks for the reminder Rich) and hoping all goes well for her.

Also hoping that both Benton and Nina are able to turn things around.

Still praying for our Curious. Hugs for the room
