OK, crisis over for the moment. We have her stable. She sees doctor first thing in the morning. I will be with her most of the day. Some how I will find a way even with Lynn. His doc upped his meds, so I hope this will help. Accccccck

I figure out why I haven't cried............ I haven't given up hope! I think I believe in miracles. When we were given "the news" we were told it could be hours, it could be days, perhaps weeks and months. It all depended on if we could get her stronger, get her to eat, and how much fluid could be removed from around her heart and body. We still don't know what the masses are in her lungs, at this point she is too weak for a biopsy.

Yet, I have not been able to give up hope. I am her biggest cheer leader. Atta girls and always smiles and encouragement. She will eat for me I smother her with love and kindness. But, I think the most important thing is she can see and feel my hope. The twinkle in her eyes are back ... today she not only stood on her own, but she walked to the bathroom with just her walker! To some, that may seem such a small thing........ but to me, it means the world It gives me more hope to hold onto. Thank you all for your love and support, you are all so special to me Nikki

Nikki,
My mom is 94, she lives nearby at a nursing home, her dementia is getting worse and the
times are becoming more frequent that she does not remember my name or that I am her daughter. But, she lights up when I walk in the room. She knows that I am family. I can usually talk her out of her negative/untrue thoughts and get her to comply with the nurses when she is being stubborn. Our visits always end with love and hugs. Nikki you are the best medicine for your mom. Continue what you are doing and remember to take care of yourself. Remember that you are surrounded by loving thoughts and prayers.
