Seriously, I've had this carpy, dispicable, raunchy disease for forever, it seems. I've been though all the ups and downs of it, over the years. For most of those years, I made adjustments for it, hated it, accepted it, cried a lot at it, raised Kids and a DH, Worked outside the home.....still hated it and cried some more..
I think I'm OK with it now (mentally) and yes, I'm even having a good time (most of the time. I don't do anything, really, but I like getting up each day to a new day, in the rest of my life. I'm writing this on a Sunday and I always feel great on a Sunday, after my Grands and DD have been here with all their hugs, kisses and vibrancy.. I realize that a lot of you are where I was 20 years ago and, at that time, I was NOT having a very good time. Everything was such work and a struggle, but I made it and I pray, so will you, my dear Friends..

I'm having a really crappy weekend, but I'm still a happy person...maybe not as happy today tho. Tingly everywhere, left hand and arm is numb, but I'm feeling good enough to sit here and crochet a poncho.
It's probably the crocheting that's keeping me happy right now tho. If I couldnt do that, or knit, I'd probably be going nuts.

Thanks Sal! I am feeling some better, but am quite tired of living the MS life. worried about the temp of the room, or the event we have planned. Worried about fatigue or flairs from fatigue. I would love to just jump out of bed, and roll on with my day, without giving a second thought to "did I take my shot?" Do we have ice packs? Is there AC in that building? Is it going to be crowded? and so on. I just wanna huck myself in the car and go!
Thanks for the prayers.

I know what you mean.
Every day I wake up and remember I have this thing. It's a pit-of-the-stomach lurch full of dissapointment. I know it will get worse and I'm prepared for that. I'm not accepting of it, but ready for it. It's a very big cloud over my life but I try to out-do it always. But it's not that easy is it? It's still there... I've left my old job. Starting a new business (when I get my **** into gear), and summer is coming. So not quite having a good time yet, but getting there. |

Ayuh, same here, Sal. It's just one more thing in my life (a really annoying one) that I have to accommodate. I also have freckles and there's nothing I can do about that either.
When it gets to me once a month or so, I have a strict limit of 15 minutes for crying and then I force myself to buck up. Once I shake it off, I realize that my life could be so much worse and that freckles are really just a sign of character.

I try to find things of interest to keep me busy and so far have been able to cope with this disease pretty well. It is easier for those of us who have family or caring friends nearby that spend time with us. gmi |

You are so right, GMI. It is so much easier when you have caring people around. Even if they aren't with you all of the time, they are still there when you want them and need them.
I lost my biggest and best support and love of my life in 2004, when DH passed away. Too young to go and I was not ready. His 2 DSs and our DD stepped in and are still here, bless them.. I know that some of you don't have that close family support and I am so sorry.. You have us, though...don't ever forget that. I am here for you..

Honestly, I've never been one to wake up with a song in my heart - unless it was - Hey, you get offa my cloud!
Not a morning person. Early on, being sick was pretty consuming, but now every day life is more of a drag than my health. I'm more up than down. And the health stuff, when it's an issue, is more like a side issue than the main event. I don't get up thinking this is how I'm gonna be the rest of my life, or it's going to get worse and then i'll die. I kind of figure, i'm half way through my life, and wore out half my parts - that's fair. Now, to figure out what to do with the parts I have left.

Sometimes when this whole MS thing has been weighing heavy on my mind, I have to remind myself that things could be so much worse... and who better to have it in my family than me??!! 90% of the time I can go on with life and enjoy things day to day... 10% of the time I find myself worrying and wondering what the future will hold.
None of us know and nothing in life is certain... so I say just make the best of what we've be given and be thankful! |
