Default Sad day today.

Mom had to put her poor cat down this morning. He was with her for 20 yrs, and of course the first snowfall of the year I had to go help her dig a hole in the clay to bury the poor thing.

But while I was gone DH2B and DD decorated my house for Christmas and I got to have a snow ball fight with DD!

How sad to lose a special member of the family. You grieve as you would any family member you loved and lost.

I know we have had to say goodbye to several pets and every home we lived in had a special resting place for a loved furry or feathered family pet.

I still miss them all and looking at pictures still brings so many memories, a smile and tears.

One of the most heartbreaking events in my life is when one of my beloved dogs passes...
it was so wonderful of you to be there for your mom...bless you!

I dread the day I have to say goodbye to one of my furbabies. I love them as much as I love my human family. 20 years is a long life for a cat. I'm glad your Mom had her in her life that long. I'm sorry she had to let her go.

Aw, it's so hard to lose our furry friends. It's like losing a family member. It's never easy.

Thanks you guys. Well DH2B pulled thru...even though he is not a cat person and has a hard time understanding my grief over a pet... he does understand that I got that cat for my 9th birthday.

He did spend all day with DD playing in the snow and decorating and then he made me some really yummy hot cocoa with a peppermint stick and a shot of irish cream topped with whipped cream...and then decided it was a good night to go out to dinner and a movie. It was sweet.

Would have been sweeter had I not discovered the punks going thru cars around here are the ones that hang out across the street with the nieghbor I actually like's kid. I went out to the garage to get something and heard my car door shut so i went to investigate.

My drivers door was sealed shut from the ice... passenger door was not and someone turned my dome light off so it doesn't come on when you open the door. Funny part is, as we were leaving to go to dinner I went in my car to grab my notebook I had left in there... and I recall the light coming on then.

twice in the last month we have both lost a quater of a tank of gas. First time I thought maybe I didn't have as much as I thought. Second time I had filled up on my way home and I know it doesn't take a quater of a tank of gas to get the 6 blocks from gas station to here. Then DH2B tells me he thinks he has a fuel leak... put two and two together, what do you get? Rotten kids that's what!

Can think of nothing worse than losing my fur bubs. I've not had a pet/animal of my own before and it's a constant worry for me.

It's so tough for an animal lover to lose a best friend......I'm so sorry. Time seems to be the only thing that really helps. It's been two years since I lost my 15 year old Bichon and even with a new one, thoughts of Susan still bring some tears along with the smiles. Hugs to you and your Mom.
