Smile Happy Day After!

It sure is quiet in here, today. Where are the survivors? I Survived!!! However, I may never move again. I'm whipped, beat, exhausted, fatigued, frazzled and yes, I'm tired.

Christmas was nice, let's do it again next year.....and not a moment before.

We didn't do adult gifts this year...just the Kiddles, but my Grandkids got me a Snuggie...Pink..LOL!!

My DSIL, the cook, brought over his culinary treasures...ham sweet potato/with marshmallows, corn suffle, green bean cassorole and baked pears..with buttered rolls, of course.

Has anyone else had Michilobe beer with lime? Delicious!!!!

Are You Out There, Somewhere??? Yoo Hoo!!!

Hey SalPal! Glad you survived.

DH and I have finally gotten showered and dressed and are going to the "Big City" (what a laugh!) to see what's on sale. I've got $100 Christmas cash to spend!

Enjoy your Snuggie!

Hi Sally and Twinks.

I slept till 12:30 today then got up and serviced the kitty cats, cleaned up the kitchen then did my elliptical workout. I need to shower and get ready to go out for Mexican.

I'm beat too. Yesterday DS made roast pork with a delicious reduced balsamic glaze, and Delmonico potatoes. I made broccoli with cheese sauce to go with it. Yum!!

On Christmas Eve I made black bean burritos, spanish rice and quacamole. I was the kitchen cleaner upper for each meal. So I'm worn out too. I need to get some stuff from the store because we're running out of the staples.

Monday I have a job interview for the accounting job, and Tuesday I need to stop in to get my login IDs for the sales job. I feel like I'm living a double life, lol.

All day I've thought it was Sunday!

We had a very nice, peaceful Christmas but I'm glad it's done for another year. I can't wait to get my house back in order. I always take the tree down the week following Christmas. I guess I started that when I was working and wanted to get everything put away before going back to work. I'm still like that.....just don't like clutter.

Anybody going shopping?

24 hours since our company left, and it seems like another lifetime...except the cats are still jumpy...make a sudden noise and they head for the tall timber.

I de-decorated the tree this afternoon (just as soon have it up December 1, but I want it out of sight the day after Christmas--who knows why)

Leftovers for lunch for a couple days is nice, no cooking to speak of. I've got about as much energy as a sloth with mono.

This is the day I jot down my notes, what worked and what didn't, menu tweaks, etc. It'll be fun to see if I can find my notes next year.

I am glad it's over!! Had a quiet holiday, but still had so much work to do around here w/the big meal etc. I really dread the ''paydays'' I have to suffer after all the hub-bub is over.

Bring on the New Year....

Shopping??? I THINK NOT!!!!

I got everything taken down and packed away for next year. I always buy a few new things so fighting for room in the Christmas storage cabinets in the garage which are FULL.

The house looks so bare but it is clean and I am just whipped.

We have a fun neighborhood group and we (14) get together for cards and potluck every Friday night.

Some are childless by choice and the rest of us our children are grown and far away so we all got together Friday as usual to play cards. This time we had a gift exchange which was so much fun.

The hostess sent three heaping plates of food home with us so I doubt if I will be cooking anything for a couple days at least!

I got on the scale today and it said I gained 5 lbs so I will be shopping for a new scale because this one always weighs 10 lbs heavy anyway!

My New Years resolution AGAIN is to quit procrastinating so hopefully this year I will get around to doing just that.

I also plan to lose weight as soon as I finish the cookies, fudge and the rest of the goodies.

I am happy that its all over! we can reclaim our supermarkets, our department stores, our restaurants, and our neighborhoods. Where do all these people come from? normally you can park anywhere, anytime in this village, unless its Christmas. then you cant find a parking spot for miles! I think we have folks come over the borders since we are a tax free state. The lines, the crowds, the frustrations! I am happy its all said and done!

Today is my DS birthday. I did get to visit with him a bit. its so hard to have a b/d next to Christmas. my dad was the day before, and he always got gyped. So, it was nice to simply have a birthday dinner, and spend time just talking to my boy. I am so proud of that kid.

Since I didnt decorate this year, there was nothing to take down and put away. I used to do it up! The tree, the lights, the sparkles. not anymore. I am happy just to have a warm, safe, clean house. it doesnt need to be blinking for me to notice. I always did it for the kids anyway.

Boxing day has also come and gone. now, we can resume our normal program which is already in progress.
