Default American Idol, anyone?
Did anyone watch AI last night? It was truly incredible to see these young people perform. Amazing talent this year -- and many of them just teenagers!

There's one guy that I'd love to pin down and use the sheep-shearers on, but he really wows me with his creative raw talent. He sang "Georgia on my Mind" and accompanied himself on the bass fiddle (a first!).

Another young man "left it all on the stage" with his rendition of "God Bless the Child" and then (offstage) collapsed in tears.

The girls are amazing, as well.

The judges, Steven Tyler (of Aerosmith fame), Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson work well together this year. I've noticed tears welling up in Steven's eyes quite a few times as various singers have impacted him emotionally.

Just wondering if I'm the only one watching?

I'm watching it. I agree, there was some awesome talent last night. I'm always amazed to hear the stories behind these kids journey.

I've been watching too. I missed last night but the past episodes have been amazing! I too like how the three judges work well together and are quite entertaining to watch.

Yes, I'm watching . Swore I wouldn't get so invested this year, but since I can tell you the names of the two you mentioned.. yep I'm invested. I'm loving the judges. I wish last years group had them for some direction.

Jacob Lusk was the one that got very emotional after singing God bless the child. Casey Abrams was the one playing the bass fiddle. They are my two stands out so far. There is one more: Paul McDonald, but word is he may have to drop out due to nodes on his vocal cords. They haven't shown him much, so I suspect he's the "dark horse" this year.

None of the girls stand out for me yet, drama and attitude(diva) need to go out the window with some of the better ones.

If you really want to get invested: mjsbigblog.com You'll find all things AI, but be warned the comments can get brutal. ETA: there is some great video of a current performance by the last winner, Lee Dewyze, on the front page right now.

I am not watching it this year because I can only record two things at a time on my DVR and there are other things that conflict while AI is on. I heard it is going well.

I have seen some clips on other shows and it seems the judges are doing a great job.

Amazing talent this year. I actually like Steven better than Simon. Its going to be really tough to pick the top 10 let alone a winner.

I am watching this year. The three judges keep the show more fun to
watch this year.

The talent is great. I think this year there is going to be a real hard
test in choosing the ins & outs.
