Default lift and power chair

We sold my Mom's power and lift chair!!!!!!!! We sold them to a couple who lives in my Mom's retirement community for a whole lot more than what we are seeing what used ones are selling for. They just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Maybe God was involved in that.

I work with a lady who doesn't believe in coincidences. Happy for you!

I'm a little confused here so please help me out. You sold your Mom's old used power chair and life to people in her retirement community, "for a whole lot more than what other used ones are selling for?" Did you really mean for a whole lot less than others?

There's nothing wrong with either way. I just want to make sure I understand. Meaning, is this a good thing for you and a bad thing for them or a good thing for everybody? I too don't believe in coincidences rather every encounter with another has a time and purpose. Many times we don't see it for several years. That's just the way life seems to work. To have paths cross at such a time and "recognize it" right away is even better.

Bottom line, you provided something positive and very much needed by someone else through your Mom. I call that a win-win-win situation.

Craig, we had researched on line what power and lift chairs were on different classifieds on line for. That gave us direction for what price to put on Mom's lift and power chairs. We got absolutely no offers, not even phone calls. Since then I have looked on Craigs list and talked to a place I found here that sold used medical furniture. Power chairs on Craigslist were up for sale for MUCH less than what we were asking for and the one place that aold a lift chair was just so low we would have felt better donating them. But my brother in law just happened to talk to someone who was wanting a lift chair and they even lived in the retirement home where my Mom lived! When he and his brother came to look at it they also saw the power chair. We told him what our initial price was then what our bottom line of a price was and he gave us something in the middle! We were just going to give a double bed and frame that was about 25 years old and he took those. So instead of about $500 for both, we got $1300 for both!

Now that makes sense to me and I fully understand. Yes, everybody was in the right place at the right time and everybody wins. What a great feeling for you and for the buyer.

We've run into the same situation in the past where it became obvious we would be further ahead to simply donate it. To get it off our hands and take the tax deduction, especially considering everything involved with trying to sell the item etc.

I still would not consider this a coincidence, both of you had a need and you found each other for both of your satisfaction. Think about all of the elements and variables that had to fall into place for this win-win situation to have happened. No, there was a purpose and a reason for your paths to cross at this time. Excellent!
