Default Guilty Dinner Tonight

My neighbors brought me back some lobsters from their trip to Maine as payment for taking care of their dogs (which was NOT an easy task). One little thing....

They are fresh. And by fresh I mean the little critters are still alive. Yes, I know lobsters are best that way. But like the cornish hens it makes me feel guilty. You see, I can eat my weight in crabs, but I don't cook them because it makes me feel guilty.

So tonight I get a guilty meal. I know, it's silly. But the idea of dropping living things into boiling waer just seems wrong.

But it tastes so good.

I have that same feeling each time I drop the critters into the pot to boil. I stamp my feet, squint my eyes, and ask for forgiveness. Now I am a hunter and can kill a deer, and process it for the dinner table, but lobsters freak me out. I always ask the store to steam them for me. YUM!

Yeah I have no problem processing deer after they are dead, but I can't shoot them. Its just weird to me, I know a few people who deserve the boiling water death and I would not think twice about pushing them in, but I feel bad about a stinkin' lobster.

Mmmm! Lobster! (with garlic butter???)

I really miss lobster. I'm allergic ~crying~

Last time I had lobster (a whole one, with garlic butter) I had a reaction with hives, and coughing. Now I have to be careful at buffets where seafood is served, and I cant eat at restaurants that serve mostly seafood (too big of a chance of cross contamination.

I never did get the allergy confirmed by a doctor, but everytime I've had shrimp or lobster, I get hives. I've decided to stay away from my beloved lobster. (my dad used to make the best linguine and clam sauce with lobster and crab meat. I miss that)

Dont feel bad about boiling the lobsters. They gave their lives to give you a tasty, tasty meal. The whole circle of life thing. Enjoy them while they're still kicking...err...fresh.

I'll be sitting in the corner, crying because I cant eat lobster anymore.

I also ate lobster for dinner on Friday. ...yum!

We don't drop our lobsters into boiling water kicking about, instead we sedate them in the deep freezer before drowning them in fresh water. My father used to cook them live and kicking, but I think the way we do it now is much more humane.

I'm starving (well, the jelly beans I've been eating are helping that) but now I'm craving lobster and garlic butter.

Getting depressed now.

I wanna have lobster too!

Well, I did it. Sam 2 lobster 0! OK the first one I felt guilty about but the second one attacked me so I didn't mind killing that one too much.

Besides, he was quite tasty with his lemon/garlic butter sauce.

Even better with the red lobster garlic cheese rolls and the ceasar salad.

DD didn't care much for them.

DH2B apparently never had a whole lobster before, he actually went out to the garage and got a pair of pliers for the claws. Of course I kind of made him look like a wimp when I grabbed a butter knifeand cracked them open

Sorry Erin. I tried to eat extra for ya. LOL

If it makes you feel any better, I don't think I am cooking tomorrow. Might be a pizza kind of night.
