I used to hate it when my Dad would discuss his and Mom's burial and "end of life" plans with me but I'm so glad he made those plans and wishes known. Having it all planned out and knowing that it was exactly as he and Mom wanted it made it easier for me to deal with all the other things - including my own emotions.

You're right to just take each day as it comes and cherish every moment. Since the deaths of my Mom, Dad, sister and husband I have come to realize that we shouldn't wait for the imminent departure of a loved one to let them know how much we love them. There isn't always a chance to do that in some cases.
