Default My day: I win!

I had my infusion today. Blah! and then...

I return home as the mailman is pulling up. He hands me a stack of mail. Wow, we got a lot of mail today. Hey, look they are all from the hospital. Hmmmm...

14 bills, in total.... over $54,000.00 Yeah you read that right that is over fifty four THOUSAND dollars! HUH??

Well, although they did get the preauthorization for my last 6 infusions.... Medicaid decided they aren't going to pay the bill. And of course each bill is set up as a seperate account. so I get to call about 14 different accounts and 14 different bills tomorrow.

I laugh about this and go to bed as the infusion is killing me and I am drained. DH2B comes home as I am going to sleep. I tell him about the bills and he tells me his Debit card is not working for some reason. Not the first time his card has deactivated for no reason. So he is going to the bank.

I wake up 3 hours later.... Kids are home, mom is still here, the family is cookin dinner. Awww how nice. Then DH2B informs me that the bank figured out the problem. Someone in Costa Rica got his card number and charged all kinds of things. The bank automatically shut off the card when he reached his $2,000 a day spending limit. So how much is left in the account until the bank gets it sorted out? $20. YUP! That is my day!

I am going back to bed. I give up!

I'm so sorry, I hope they get this straightened soon.

Bank is working on it, they promised to have it straightened out by friday. Today i get to go back to the hospital and ask why they are double billing me for 3 infusions and a physical therapy appointment and ask if that is why the insurance refuses to cover it.

I also get to pick up the dry cleaning, drop off meds for the oldest kid, schedule with the AC repairman and the plumber, try to get my records transferred from the idiot ortho back to my pcp, and do all of this while fighting the effects of the stupid tysabri. Wish me luck.

I would be, in no uncertain terms, telling those people to straighten out their dam bills. They got the auth, they did the billing, now they need to figure out how to get paid by someone other than you!

I had some issues with billing when my Grandma was dying and I told those people that the coverage was there and it was not my problem if they did not bill correctly and to not expect any payment coming from our way. I swear they just try to get people to pay first before straightening out their own errors. Funny how once I told them that we were not paying one penny, that they got it all figured out!

Good luck today! That is a full day for anyone. Let alone someone who is feeling like crap!

Hopefully you get a rest in there somewhere.

Well the $54,000 bill was corrected and resubmitted to the insurance company. It seems when they set me up for self pay for this infusion it kicked all of the pending bills over as self pay. Two hours at the hospital talkin to the patient advocate rep and I actually go a lot accomplished. I discovered that the $7500 spend down amount is automatically covered to be written off based solely on the fact that I qualify for Medicaid. I received copies of the bills from Friday and yesterday that I am responsible for and my spend down has been met but I will not receive the official bills for 10 days. Which means I have to pay full price when I follow up with the pcp next week, which is fine because they waved the $250 deposit I was suposed to pay for my infusion.

Took care of all of the other running around that needed to be done and made most of the calls I needed to. My to do list for tomorrow is a lot lighter than today's. Although the mail man brought me another $4,000 bill today so I will have to go resubmit that one to the insurance too. I am thinking about breaking up with that guy if he doesn't stop bringing me bills.

And now I am getting ready for back to school night and a PTO meeting at the elementary school. I need a nap. Like a 2 day long nap.

Well that is a very busy day that had some really good accomplishments! I would love to break up with the mailman some days! But that wouldn't work because sometimes he brings checks instead of bills

That 2 day nap sounds great! I'll take one too! Good luck with getting everything done.
