Well, here we are the day after Christmas, and just like last year, mixed feelings. I am totally toast, of course, but I will have to admit it was worth it. I did as much ahead of time as possible, and the actual festivities only lasted 4 hours.

My daughter wasn't able to be here, nor my daughter-in-law (who is still bedridden following surgery). But my son was here (I think he comes for the biscuits) and my granddaughter and her boyfriend (we just LOVE him!). The food all turned out okay, people seemed to like their modest gifts (even the duplicates were fun!)

AND we have leftovers in the refrigerator. I made a triple batch of chex mix, so each famiy has a bag to take home, and my husband is pleased that we also have a small bag.

Still a few boxes and bows to sort through, but the day is young. Speaking of which...is 7:00 a.m. too early for cheesecake?

Every year....usually the day after Christmas.....I promise myself that next year I will do more and be more prepared. Never happens but it makes me feel better to say it.

I always say I'm going to buy more gifts early. I never do. I always say I'm going to buy Christmas decorations on clearance. I never do.

Everybody seems to have a good time. We just get together and take the day as it comes. No expectations. No disappointments.

It is never too early, or too late, or the wrong day for Cheesecake, especially with strawberry sauce on top.

Default Hi blessings

It is never too early for cheesecake! What in heavens name were you up so early for? Good grief dear lady. I slept till 10 a.m. and I am still wiped out! I can't get up the steam today to do much of anything. Tomorrow I ride a family float to look at the lights around town. I am saving up the energy today. Have a great day. ginnie

We ALWAYS get up between 5:00-5:45. Both of us feel better getting up at "regular" time and napping if we need to. My husband goes to bed at 8:00 except for during baseball season and he's in the middle of an inning, or on Saturday night when he stays up to watch Leroy Troy on the Marty Stuart show!

I am usually not far behind, though sometimes it's 8:30 or even (gasp) 9:00 before I settle in. I would prefer my "8 hours" to be 10-6, but I don't care enough to rock the boat.

I'm more tired than sleepy anyway. I just had a snooze, but I wasn't asleep that long...kept my eyes shut for quite a while though!

Default Hi blessings

We are so very different in our habbits, it is kinda funny. I go to bed and read, starting about 8:30 get my lousy feet up, and then I read half into the night. I am so hooked on books as a rule I don't put it down until the words make no sense, then go back over the last few papes the next night. I think I used to go to bed early when the kids were young, but now that I am retired, my nights changed. Have a good day blessings to you. ginnie
