I think this must be my 5th major diet! One time I won a weight loss contest at work and bought a $200 exercize bike which became an expensive closet. So now that I am in my 60s I realize the older I am the more difficult it will be. I hate size 20s and I was getting uncomfortable in them so that was a lot of my empitus to do this. I have been on a diet since either the middle of October or 1st of November, can't remember which! But I have lost 14.4 pounds so far. I'm on a 1300 calorie diabetic diet. I have always been under the impression that the diabetic diet is the best. I'm not eating any odd, unusual foods, foods I would not normally eat. i don't have to retrain myself when I get to maintence. I look forward to more accountability partners

What is your height Keely? 200 lbs on a 5' 2" person is different than on a 5' 10" person.

135 lbs would be my perfect weight too and I'm 5' 7". I'm thin enough, happy and healthy @ 160lbs though and would wear a 12.

Good point, Sally. Unfortunately, I'm only 5'2"!!!!!

I carry my weight well--I don't look like an absolute blimp and I actually don't look like I weigh as much as 200 now, but it's terrible for my health. I started packing on weight a few years ago when I became more disabled from my MS/Lupus/Crohn's whammy.

Added to that, I've always had a low metabolism, so I have actually gained weight at the typical diet regimen of 1,200 calories a day!

I won't be really thin at 135, but that's what I used to be some years ago, and I know that I'll feel good and look a heckuva lot better. If I can get down to 125 from there, I will!!!!

I just started watching what I eat and exercising a couple of days ago, so I will weigh in next week. But yesterday I weighed 192. I'm 5' 2" as well, I have been down to 150 but needed to lose more, not much, but some more. I would like to see 130 on that scale!

You young whippersnappers, don't put it off! Every few years I shrink another inch, which means my healthy weight keeps changing!

When I was 5'2", I only had to get down to 136# to be in the "normal" range. Now, at 4'11", I have to weigh 123# not to be overweight!

What was my "good" weight twenty years ago is now 13 pounds overweight!

I never thought to see if my height has changed. I'm over 70 so it's possible, but I haven't stood up real straight and walked in awhile. I think I'll get measured when to the Doc next month.

I'm larger boned and haven't had any OSteo problems, so I probably didn't shink much?

Apparently the age related shrinking thing is more often from degeneration/compression of spinal discs, than from bone/vertebra.

With love, Erika

I weighed myself yesterday and I was up two pounds. I'm 5'4" and 142 lbs. A few years ago I weighed 120 or less all the time but I was very thin, and I had no boobs at all. So the one good thing about this weight is that my girls have grown up again, lol.

I'd like to get down to 135 or so but no less, even though my old neuro said my normal weight should be around 115 but that was one of the craziest things I ever heard him say, but then again, I never shared about the boob issue. I was up to 153 about six months ago so I have lost some of it.

I guess this question belongs here. i just hope it gets answered before the Friday check in.I'm doing a decent job of losing the weight and I'm walking a mile a day. That is completely new for me!!!! But I need something to do to get rid of things like spare tires, love handles, etc. You all are in the same boat I am, is there a video of a work out that we can do.

I googled exercises for love handles and this is one I got that doesn't look too bad.
