I know I don't hang out here as much lately, but I just wanted to share some happy news . . .
After 15 years together, my partner and I are finally going to become legal spouses! About 2 years ago Washington State voters approved, and the governor signed, a measure to grant same-sex marriage. We got our license on May 22, picked out rings on May 23, and will be getting married in a little forest house at the base of Mount Rainier on June 14. My daughter, son-in-law, and our two grandchildren will witness. Hopefully it won't rain that week-end and we will be able to get up the next morning, have some breakfast, and take them on up to Paradise Visitor Center to play in the snow! I just pray that my symptoms don't get wacky on me from all the excitement, that we don't get a hot spell that week, and because I also deal with Crohn's, that I don't eat anything that causes me issues. Our one remaining issue is whether or not to hyphenate our last names. Being as we share the same first name -- Deb -- it might be a little confusing to the rest of the world!
