Well the kids came in Sunday night so I set my DVR for everything for Sunday and Monday. My daughter is VERY particular about what she will allow on the TV while the girls are in the room. So I missed HGTV Design Star, American Gladiator and and was able to watch part of Nashville star. They are gone now and I've been able to catch up!

Since I have never watxched Nashville Star I don't know the concept of it. The judges voted off one tonight but they gave out numbers for the public to vote. I'm confused:confused::confused:

Design Star started strange:eek: In the past the first task has always been to design their house/apartment. But this year they have to build a house in one week.

American Gladiator. With all the bad weather Indiana is having, some of what my DVR caught was weather reports so I didn't see the introductions. I was suprised the 4'11'' girl won her match. I like the sky chase or whatever it is.

So this week I have the actual start of the conpetition of SYTYCD and I think next week starts Americas got talent.

Jappy 06-11-2008 06:26 PM

Is anyone still watching He++'s Kitchen?

Last night was unbelieveable. Bobby was sent home.

Chef Gordon at the end told the last 5 that he doesn't have any
idea who is going to make it because they all stink.
By this time of the game there usually is someone that is outstanding.

Nashville stars sounds interesting. Will watch it next week. I love
country music.

I have Design Star on my DVR, planning to watch it sometime soon. I really liked the woman who won last year, she had some great design tips but I have not watched any of her show!

SYTYCD is okay, no one really stands out for me this year.

I am still watching The Bachelorette. Probably the one one here!:)

I did not like Deanna when she lost, not even sure I like her now but the abs on some of those men! She will probably choose the guy with the 3 year old boy. He leaves his kid to find true love on reality TV. Not sure he would make my Father's Day list. But the handsome Jeremy is starting to look a bit annoying.

doydie 06-11-2008 10:11 PM

Watched SYTYCD tonight. Since it is the beginning of the season I can't remember anyones names. For the first show of the season I think everyone did great. There were only two that stood out. The first couple I didn't like it when she pulled down his pants and he kind of played with himself a little bit. The rest of the dance was OK. But I really liked the couple that did the tango. But now they have a problem that they have to keep showing improvememnt or the judges will get down on them.

I'm still watching HK. I'm thinking it's anyones game. Each have some good and some bad qualities.

I could here on Dad's TV the NS vocals. Lots of good voices, but it's just the beginning.

SallyC 06-12-2008 12:18 PM

Poohy, I miss HK, this week. I enjoyed watching NS and SYTYCD, though...:) A couple goes home tonight on SYTYCD..They are all so good, it will be hard to choose.

doydie 06-12-2008 11:28 PM

I read on the news on the internet about Hells Kitchen might have a teenage version. I would hope he would hold down his temper a bit. He would traumatize those poor kids and they wouldn't even be able to put popcorn in the microwave! So they had the first ever female winner!

Our son in law finishes up his 2 week leave and has to leave for Iraq in the morning so we took him and our daughter out for supper and miniature golf tonight. When we got back there was only about 15 minutes left of SYTYCD. I'm just glad the couple that did the Tango last night didn't go. On their messsage board there is a lot of talk about Nigle and how he oogles the women so much. I guess I never realized it.

Speaking of message boards, I read on the Nashville star message board that the long time fans of the show are quite dissapointed about the way NBC is handling the show versus the network that had it before. Since I never watched it before I have nothing to compare it to. Any thoughts????

I watched Farmer takes a wife. You know I still can't rememebr all the names and the show is almost over. But I was kind of glad of the pick he did last night. She really wasn't into being a farmers wife. I'm still rooting for Amanda then Brooke. See, I can remember some of their names!!!!!

I completely forgot about the show on TV Land about the 'mature women' vying for a modeling contract. I think I can get it online though. Last night was supposed to be 'nude' photo shoot. Question --- if you have a nude photo shoot, are you a mature woman?

Another big winner on evening edition of Price is right.

MSacorn 06-15-2008 05:57 PM

New Season starts

Tonight 6/15 is the new season of GS Family Jewels. I believe it's on for an hour too. It repeats 3 hours later for those who will miss the early showing.

doydie 06-15-2008 11:51 PM

Watched HGTV Design Star tonight. So they were just kidding them last week when they dropped them off with stuff to make a house in one week. They had the usual first challenge of 'here is your new home away from home, now decorate it'. The guy that did a bedroom all on his own left. I didn't think his room was all that bad. i wouldn't mind it at all in my home. I sure would like it a lot better than a fake distressed fireplace. But someone had to be the first one. I always enjoy this show.

I missed a new show that TLC has 'Your placw e or mine'. I guess two couples compete to have rooms done in their home.

Jappy 06-16-2008 06:14 PM

Tonight the 2 that I will be watching is The Bachelorette and
Nash. Star.

My withdrawal symptoms are getting to me.

Got to get some chocolate. My next big addiction.

Jappy

doydie 06-17-2008 12:00 AM

Tonight I watched Nash Star also. Since this was my first season to watch it I didn't know the format. On American Idol I knew they had voice coaches but I like how the do it here on Nash Star. It makes it so much more personable. I din't like the group that was eliminated tonight. I thought they were a bit cocky , very polished but for county fairs and local gigs.

I also watched American Gladiator. They had identical twins. they were competitive but yet wanted their sister to win. Kind of wierd when you are rooting for your compitition! I didn't see the other guys results coming at all. From what they showed on the program (I guess you have to catch the rest of it on NBC.com) the ER doc was winning. I was hilarious watching the dancer doing 'earthquake'. He just looked like he saw swatting flys rather that wrestling to stay on. But then on the eliminator, he just came up from behind and took over at the last second.

My favorite show was the US Open though. I was rooting for Tiger to get tough and win it and my husband was rooting for the 'old guy' to beat the unsurmountable odds and beat Tiger. Of course I won!!!!

Tomorrow night Americas got talent starts.

My computer isn't wanting to stay on so I better cut this short.

DM 06-17-2008 09:19 AM

This is the first season for Nash Star, Doyd~ so last night was the 2nd show. I can't believe the talent of those people. A few of them will definitely go far.

Thanks for reminding me of FJ's, Beth! They moved it back to Sun nights, which I like. I loved the GS's roast! That was hilarious!

SallyC 06-17-2008 10:02 PM

On AGT...The 4 yr old girl and the Male opera singer. All the rest can go home...LOL

Our local station didn't air AGT tonight. They have the Indians ballgame on instead of on STO. Isn't that illegal  or it should be, to pre-empt the first show of the season.

I call the opera singer in the commercial he was good. If the singer in England can win, why not here.

doydie 06-17-2008 11:20 PM

I just loved that little 4 year old girl. But I can't imagine a Vegas show for her. Well, I can't imagine one for an opera star either! But both of them were good. I don't like acts like the ladies burlesque group.

Jappy 06-18-2008 06:31 PM

I just loved the opera singer.

Well I love opera. When my kids were at home they would head
outdoors when I started playing the music.
They were just kids then, but now they appreciate opera and
understand more why I love it.

Even though there is probably no place for opera in vegas I am sure
he is going to make it somewhere.

The young girl will make it also.

Jappy

doydie 06-18-2008 11:26 PM

Tonight was SYTYCD. There was so much critisim about the one girls smile while she was dancing. I loved it. She is a beautiful girl and dancing a beautiful dance and had a Beautiful dress on. Who wouldn't smile!!!! All in all it was a good show. I think the weakest one was the girl who is so tall. Also I don't like crumping, maybe because I don't understand it. I didn't agree with Nigle that a guy needs to grab his crotch when he crumps!!!! There was a funny comment on their message board that Kat and Mary Murphy must have shopped at Paula Abduls' yard sale!!!!

Then I watched She's got the look on TV Land. I was glad they are hopefully done with the nudity!!! Felt sorry for Paula who had never walked in heels before. Can't walk the runway in 4 inch heels if you have never worn heels before. With the wig she had on and her awkwardness in walking she looked like a drag queen! Sorry Paula:eek:

Jappy 06-19-2008 01:55 PM

I watched Wife Swap last night. I get a big kick out of that
show. How they put the women in a complete mis-matched family is
so unbelieveable.
At least most of the time some good really comes with it.

I can't remember the date I was not paying attention but, heard
Big Brother is coming back soon. Did anyone else hear anything about
it?

Jappy :)

Jappy 06-25-2008 06:40 PM

I guess summer is slowing up the watching of reality shows.

The last post on here was me a week ago.

I am basically going to say the same things. Watched He^^'s Kitchen
last night. It was good. Christine and Patrozza are the last 2 to
fight it out. I hope chris wins.

Tonight I am going to watch "Wife Swap" it should be good. Previews
of it showed one wife will be going to a PIG FARM.

Jappy

doydie 06-25-2008 11:02 PM

Somehow my fine little brain couldn't find this thread so I started a new one yesterday!

doydie 06-27-2008 12:07 AM

I watched my recorded she's got the look. I guess they are trying to wrap up the show casue they eliminated 2 ladies last night. It would really be hard to decide from those photos who would go. But I guess it's the whole picture we didn't see. The one I really don't like is Karin, the one who is Swedish.

Then one of my favorite shows was on tonight and another couple had to go hoome on SYTYCD. But this time it was a guy from one couple and a girl from another couple. So next week we have a new couple! Did I say that right or I have had to much chocolate? I did enjoy seeing Jordin Sparks sing. Someone said on the message board that they thought she was lip syncing but I didn't see it. I didn't understand at all the opening act. It was just to wierd.

I read where Drew Carey ordered out for pizza for his wrap up party for the last show of the seaon of Price is right. He ordered all the way from Ohio to LA from his favorite pizza place. Antonios or something. They said that the order was $450 but didn't know what it would be to ship them. I guess they couldn't do like Dominos and have a 30 minute guarantee!

doydie 06-30-2008 11:20 PM

How's everyones reality shows going this week so far. You know it's already Monday!!!!!

I have HGTV Design star taped and haven't watched it yet. It drives me crazy that I can't even go to the web site cause I don't want to know anything. I'm not particularly tired tonight and will probbaly watch it tonight.

Tonight I watched American Gladiators and Nashville Star. It's amazing how normal everyday people can compete on Gladiators. One of the new ones this year is an Olympic star and will try out for this years Olympics. I think his specialty is the javelyn (sp?) throw.

The judges were hard on the contestants tonight on Nashville Star. One of them just told him that just because he is wearing a cowboy hat that it doesn't make him country and that there is a show called American Idol that might suit him better!!! But the two that shine for me is the heavy set lady and the cowboy from Texas. Next week they eliminate 2. I would think that the teenagers will be one of those two acts. I just wish that Billy Rae would cut his hair.

I know rigth now I'm going to have a hard time keeping up with the Olympics. I have several hours of time trials of track/field and swimming that I am behind in watching. We had two from our area that tried out today for the swimming and din't make it.

MSacorn 07-01-2008 08:32 AM

I watched Design Star, and Food Network Star this week. I think the right people went home this week.

I'm looking forward to the He11's Kitchen Finale tonight. I wonder if they will drag it into next week.

SYTYCD is on my list for tomorrow and Thurs.

I can't wait for Big Brother to start, sometime this month. It's my mindless summer entertainment.

's

SallyC 07-01-2008 11:23 AM

I hope BB goes back to having Just normal weirdos and not the mr and miss america types. It used to be fun, before they made it a beauty contest.

NS was good last night. The Mother of five boys...was outstanding.

I hope I don't miss HK again.

doydie 07-01-2008 11:21 PM

I just read that most of the top 10 shows last week were either game or reality shows! I don't know if that is because we are in the off season for all ofour dramas or not.

There are some fantastic people going through to Vegas on AGT. I love that little 9 year old boy. He had such a pure voice.

weeble37 07-02-2008 10:39 AM

Sunday, July 13th is the start of the new Big Brother!

Does anyone here watch Wipeout on Tuesdays from 8-9 on ABC? It's only been on for two weeks now but it makes me laugh like crazy. I really need that.

Weebs

doydie 07-02-2008 11:51 PM

I watch wipeout. I think it was the number one show in the Neilson ratings last week. I hope it is humbling for those 'adults' to see themselves looking so crazy.

Tonight was SYTYCD and She's got the look. It's getting pretty good now on SYTYCD. I stilll can't rmember half the names though. But some of those dances are amazing. I wouldn't pay to see contemporary dance but I love to see it on the show. And I guess the most amzing thing is these hip hop dancers and how they can be so graceful, like Comfort when she did the waltz. Wow, I remembered a name!

She's got the look. It's down now to the final 4 and I think next week is the finale. Tonight they had a short acting class and then tried some acting. They took part in a commercial where this cook fixed something and had them take a bite. But the cook had intentionally put a bunch of salt and cod liver oil in the batch and they had to 'act' like it tasted wonderful because it was a commercial. Anyway, the girl that went home tonight was one who they didn't know whether to have her in the compitition because she is something like 5'5" and is considered to short.

I am still amazed at the Olympic trials. I think they are over on Sunday.

I agree! BB used to be a riot to watch, and now all we see is half naked parades, and hair styling contests. skinny, skinny girls in teeny bikini's. Blah! I liked it when it was about the interactions. not about who has the most amount of ribs showing.

I watched the baby borrowers! what a hoot! some teenagers think they are ready for parenthood, so, they give them a house to live in and a baby! These babies are cranky, teething, colicky, and the teens are over their heads! too funny. at the end 90% are saying NO baby for me thanks!

I laughed my way through the baby borrowers too. I gave up SYTYCD to watch it. The commericals for it cracked me up. I love that the know it all teens get a huge slap of reality. It will be interesting as the kids get older, to see which teens mature.

I LOVED it, DH and I watched it and laughed so much. :D
I can't wait for next weeks show when the teens have the toddlers. :D

Dejibo 07-03-2008 12:37 PM

what did you think of the snotty girl, who refused to touch that woman's baby, because she scolded her?! What a brat! she also went to work, so she didnt have to stay home and watch the kid, and really just half assed her way through her whole stay on the show. Who would want to have a kid with her?!

outrageous! I loved it.

She has a lot of growing up to do, if I had been the babies mother I would have taken the baby out of the house. There was really only 2 girls that did a good job, Sasha & Kelly (I had to look the names up, I couldn't remember them :p ).

SallyC 07-03-2008 01:12 PM

I haven't watched the baby borrowers yet, but tell me they don't leave those dear babies alone with those rotten teeners?

I guess we have to wait till next week to see who wins HK. I like them both..:)

SYTYCD will send two home tonight. I agree with the Judges on most of the dancers, but totally disagree with some.. That guy with the abs is a terrific dancer..real star quality. His jumps take me back to the amazing Borishnokov(sp)

Go forward you/we silly addicts..:D

Curious 07-03-2008 01:36 PM

back in the old chit chat chatroom days, some of us would meet up while amercian idol was on and chat while we "watched" the shows together. it was a blast.

we do have the holliwood chat room here. would anyone like to do that? chat and watch? even if you chat during commercials, it's still fun to watch with friends. :D

Dejibo 07-03-2008 04:01 PM

I keep trying to watch that America's got talent thing, and keep missing it. I love some of the acts. I will have to sic Tivo on it.

A stellar idea, Monkeyface, for those who dig the chatrooms. I hate them, myself. I used to chat, but I started getting anxiety attacks and had to leave. They just go too fast for me.

Curious 07-03-2008 07:36 PM

it does make a difference when there are just a few and everyone is on the same topic.

i hear ya sally. for me, i get so busy at home and interupted, i feel bad when i can't reply.

doydie 07-03-2008 10:46 PM

It's really hard for me to follow the chat rooms. Plus my computer is back in my office and I don't have a TV back there.

SallyC 07-07-2008 09:04 PM

I am very disappointed at who stayed and who left tonight on Nashville Star...Booooo on the call-in voters.:(

doydie 07-07-2008 11:22 PM

Yeah I was to. The number two vote getter was the two young girls. I really thought they would be gone tonight, especially since they sent two home.

I can't really say anything spectacular happened last night on HGTV Design Star.
