Default Chef Ramsey

Those of you who watch HK. I found on BBC America a show where the chef goes to restaurants in trouble in the UK and tries to turn them around. It's called Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmare's. A new season starts Thursday night. I watched several of them today. It is easier to watch with closed captioning on though, since they talk differently over there. I learned a few new terms.

I used to be the one in the family that would hook up the VCR and figure out the remote. Now I can't figure it out at all!!!!!! I guess what is so confusing is how to turn the TV remote off and use the VCR remote only. It just doesn't work, well for me it doens't. And on the spot recording, well don't even get me started on that one. No telling what I would have recorded.

I like my old WebTV that was hooked to my VCR, I just programmed what shows to record and it was done, no question. I know that if we put out more money for our cable we would get a DVR with it. But that would just get me more cable stations with more reality shows. So on a lot of shows I watch one show and turn it over to the other during commercials. And they never seem to end at the same time so I get the all important ending. Plus I can watch complete episodes on the internet for free.

Big brother. I said I was just going to try it out and now I have watched two episodes and it's going to be on right before Pirate Master on Tuesday night. I have never watched this show before. So someone is going to have to tell me the rules of the game and how this thing is played out.

Remember Pirate Master moves to its new permanent place on Tuesday night after BB.

I'm getting to know the charactors on Big Brother....it takes me awhile. Tonight is the first ouster and I don't have any idea about the two who are up on the block. It's just to early to tell if I like them or not.

It's fun to watch, though.

I watched a little of Hell's Kitchen...I liked it. And a little of The Next Best Thing...That was good. Those people are talented impersonators. It made me laugh.

More later..

If you get the BBC America, Chef Ramsey has a show on tonight. A new season of Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares. He goes to UK restaurants in trouble and tries to turn them around. I'm recording it.

Fox, in the fall will have a series with him called Kitchen Nighmares. Not sure it is going to be American makeovers or the UK version run on Fox.

BB is a fun break from reality. It amazes me how diverse, yet similar people really are. It really is too early to tell who should go. My vote would be for the wacko Jen.

I have never watched any of BB before this year. I guess it's OK, a little two gossipy for me though. I don't think any of those players are telling the truth in anything they do. I'm used to Survivor when the whole episode is run from challenges all the way to elimination. This 3 episode thing before elimination thing , I can't keep up with everything. Maybe it will be better as more peole are eliminated.

The two palyers I can't stand are Jessica and Jen. I guess Jessica is so shallow and her voice is like fingernaol on a blackboard. Jen is just to much of a drama queen. I guess I should put Joe on that short list to. Jen with the power of HOH may just be to much!

I think next week all the ousted players come back on Pirate master! Now to me that is exciting!

What do you all think of SYTYCD. I am enjoying learning all the different dances and how all these ballroom dances can be done to such modern songs. I had always envisioned ballroom done to 'stuffy' music. I don't know if that is the term I want but it's the best I can come up with for now!

I agree with all your BB observations and it will get better with less people. I love SYTYCD. This is my first season watching. Dancing with the Stars does ballroom to modern tunes. I think that twist is awesome. I sure wish I can dance. But, alas I am the white girl with no rhythm, so I live vicariously though those that can.

I may have to recod PM again. Since it moved to a night with less stuff on. I haven't watch SYTYCD results yet. I've been fighting a losing battle with a migraine since Tues. Sleeping helps or maybe its the unconscious. I've got an ice pack on my head now. I'm out of ideas and have two big events I must attend Sat. Wish me luck.

Beth -- I'm praying your migraine disappears by tomorrow. They're horrible things. Have a good time at your two "functions"!

I love SYTYCD -- that was always my dream in my younger (of course) days, to be a dancer. Took the usual tap, ballet, acrobatics, etc., but it just wasn't meant to be. Guess my mother wasn't pushy enough! ha ha ha ha There was a girl in my dance class who went on to be a Rockette at Radio City Music Hall in NYC. I grew up in NJ. She also did trapeze and the Spanish web. I was totally jealous!!!! Her mother was the typical steriotype of a "stage mother" -- pushy, pushy, pushy!! It's getting really difficult eliminating people now since they're all so talented. I agree, it's definitely a different twist trying to do those dances to such "odd" music.

Did anyone watch the two new shows about not forgetting the lyrics? I can't even remember the names of the shows!

How about America's Got Talent? I got tired of watching all the weird auditions, but now the voting will be starting so it should improve.

Doydie -- I'm with you. VCR's are Greek to me. I know how to put the movie in and take it out -- that's it.

Isn't it funny how all of these reality shows became so popular at once? Guess Survivor started it all. Happy watching!

I love those new 'karoke' shows. I like the one with Wayne Brady the best. Of course I would love him any day. The audition shows for any of these reality shows are so bad. I'm not sure if some of those people really think they have talent or just want thier one minute on TV. And the networks know that is what sells thier show so they give it to them. But now it will get interesting now we are down to the fianl contestants. I'm glad that Leonold the great didn't get put into the finalists this year. We had enough of him last year.
