Default Did anyone see the video of the puppy and the Marine?

I'm not linking to the video because it made me ill.

I hope none of you have seen it. It's one of the worst things I've seen in a long while.

(dont read the description if you're sensitive, actually, I'll put the description in white text. If you want to read the description, right click your mouse, and choose Select All from the drop down list, it'll highlight the text that's in white)

(I removed the hidden text. noticed that it showed up very faintly in a reply to me earlier)

It sounds like all three Marines are giggling thru the whole thing. Apparently no remorse whatsoever, even tho it sounds like the guy filming it seemed to have some surprise in his voice, like he had no idea it was going to happen.

I really hope all three of these guys, especially the moron who tossed the puppy get prosecuted by the Marine Corps. I want these jerks to go to trial for tossing this puppy. I'd love to hear that they get a serious reduction in rank, dishonorable discharge, loss of all benefits, and some nice jail time in Leavenworth.

I dont understand people who do crap like that. What kind of sick people are the Marines recruiting? I'm sure stuff like that happens in every war, but now everyone's got a video camera, even in a war zone. Crap like this is what makes people in other countries hate Americans. I hope they televise his Article 32 hearing...and I hope the judge that JAG (Judge Advocate General) assigns him is a serious animal lover.

p.s. I think I got the color right. I chose white (because that's what the color looked like) but when I did the preview, I could just barely read the text. So, I chose another color (Lemon Chiffon) and that seemed to cover up the hidden text. Hopefully people who dont want to read the description wont end up accidentally reading it because the text color was off a bit

OMG Erin, I cannot believe they did that, and on top of it laughed as they filmed it. That's just beyond disgusting! When I saw the title of your thread I thought it was going to be one of those wonderful stories where our guys find a stray and take care of it or take it back home with them. I'm not sure where you saw the video but I hope it makes its way around. Perhaps then those idiots will be identified and prosecuted, although animal cruelty laws are still a joke.

As far as I'm concerned there's nothing worse than a so called human who hurts an innocent child or animal to make up for their inadequacies. It's just too darned bad they didn't fall off the cliff themselves - and this was cleaned up a great deal. My DH often says it's a good thing I'm not a judge and he's probably right.

Basically, the story is that there were at least 3 Marines on a cliff, not sure where it was filmed, but probably Iraq. One of the Marines is holding a puppy (looks like a Rat Terrier) by the scruff (how mommy dogs hold their puppies) and they're saying how cute it is.

Then the Marine holding the puppy tosses it overhand off a cliff. You can see the puppy falling, and you can hear it yip as it falls.

I opted not to read or look at the video - I see enough sick news on the regular network newscast, thank you.

I didn't watch the video in fact I skipped that headline completely. I just shook my head and moved on to other topics, it just makes you wonder the mentality of other people, Marine or not.

As far as "What kind of sick people are the Marines recruiting?", any and everybody as it's war-time.

Oh Erin, that is awful and I'm so glad I didn't see it. I have a dog loving Marine friend over seas right now, I hope he doesn't see it either.

Unfortunately, Erin, there are sick people everywhere. It is sickening to thing that the men and women who are defending our country includes them.

I'm sorry you saw that.

I wish I hadn't plugged into this thread.....I could have gone all year without hearing about this.

I had read on another forum where people were talking about it. People were saying it was faked.

When I saw the story on Fox News' website, I decided to see for myself if it was fake or not.

No way was it faked.

I just cant believe they filmed it, and worse yet, uploaded it to the internet. At least people arent laughing at it when they see it. (it's on YouTube) Seems like everyone who sees it is pretty ticked off about it. (as everyone should be)

I was just checking the news, and the Marine is apparently stationed at a Marine Corps base in Hawaii, and he's been back from Iraq since last fall.

He's been getting death threats from people. I wonder what he thought was going to happen when he uploaded that video? I hope no one kills him, because I'd rather seen the moron Marine do some time breaking rocks.

The guy is an idiot...he's giving the Marines a bad image. I'm betting that karma will be coming to get him soon...in the form of some really angry Marines.

This is one of the lowest forms of life and intelligence known to man...that poor animal! Some must die to feed the masses, but to intentionally kill for kicks....lock him up and throw away the key for a long time!

They'll probably have to put the guy and his buddies in solitary confinement. Prisoners dont like people who abuse children and animals. They might decide to toss the idiot from the top of some stairs and listen to him whimper on the way down.

I've been dog-less for almost exactly two years. (my bouvier des flandres, TinyMonsters, died in 2006 from kidney failure) and I've been thinking about getting a new dog since then. I tried to get a new puppy right after Tiny died, but it was way too soon, and I also had an allergic reaction to the puppy, so we had ended up returning him. (I hope he got some cool humans, he was a neat puppy)

I've been "auditioning" other dog breeds for awhile, to see what dog breed might not set off my allergies. I really want to adopt a new puppy eventually. It really made me ill to see the puppy in that video treated the way that <insert bad word here> treated it. I love dogs, they're one of the neatest things on the planet, and if you find the right dog, and socialize it and train it right, you end up with a nice furball to have for a buddy.

If I find the right dog eventually, I'd put up with some allergy to keep it. I would have done that for Tiny if he hadnt died. (I didnt realize I probably had an allergy to him till after he died...the puppy we tried to adopt was my first clue I might have a dog allergy)

I'm going to edit my first post to remove the description of what I saw in the video. I noticed that some text showed up in the quote box when someone replied to me earlier.
