Our winter storm warning has been changed into a blizzard warning for overnight. I didn't even know there was such a thing.

Hey there Sistah Sally!

Well, the good news is they cancelled the winter storm warning for our part of Ohio. The BAD news (aka the suck news) is the National Weather Service has changed it to a BLIZZARD warning until 4 p.m. Saturday. Yep, it's officially the blizzard of 2008 here. They're saying 10-15 inches accumulation when all is said and done. I've shoveled a path for my four legged children once but you can barely tell. Our work closed 2 hours early today and I just knew I should've stopped for some bread, milk and eggs.

Remember the Ohio blizzard of 1978? I remember no school and my parents and I were stuck in the house for three days before we could dig ourselves out. Ah, to be a kid again and not have to worry about getting into work, just playing in the snow.

Ahhhh...a blizzard! I remember several blizzards here in Chi town. The blizzard of 79 was my favorite. All my friends went to school and I stayed home. I remember going by the school and waving to my friends who were stuck there because the snow was getting worse. I remember opening up my second floor window and being able to touch the snow due to the wind drifts. I also remember getting caught smoking for the first time that day. haha!

I pray you'll all be safe and stay off the roads until they are clear! Here's a pic of the 79 blizzard. Be careful all of you getting the big snow.

LOL Sandy, going by the school and waving to your friends. That picture is just something else. I wished I had ours scanned onto the computer. Hey that huge mound of snow to the right would've been great for making an igloo or fort!

All you folks in the blizzard stay safe and warm!!!

I shopped today and filed the back room with wood. I got oil for the generator and oiled up my lamps. We are on the rain snow line and hoping it stays rain, but they are expecting icing too.

BTW...When I got home today...what do I see but the gas can sitting on my doorstep...full of gas. No Note, no call, but there it was, returned as if it never left . It probably would have been put back in the garage but I locked it up...

I love Maine.

They are saying we are to get up to a foot of snow last I heard but since they can never get our forecast right, we will probably get 1/2 inch. But we want the snow, this winter has been too mild for us.

Thankfully just lots of rain here today and tomorrow. Im just worried
about my neighbor as her basement fills with water every spring. We
get the run off coming down the mountain behind our houses.
Ill have to keep an eye out as she is elderly and lives alone.

Take care all,

Sox

Let Me understand this, Cherokee...They called off this storm but called for a Blizzard tomorrow??

I was napping and missed the celebration..LOL! We still have a bunch of snow in Kettering, though. I'm all snuggled in and comfy. DD brings groceries on Sunday morning....I hope she makes it..

Stay safe, everyone..

Oh man, I remember digging through snow to make a fort too! We did that so much that I had a nightmare the snow collapsed on me while I was digging!

Sox, some people in my neighborhood have flooding basements except a few of us. The guy who used to own our house put in two sump pumps. Gotta love him for that. It even has an alarm that will go off if both pumps fail. Maybe someone could help your neighbor put one in her basement?

Sally,

Montgomery County is under a level 2 snow emergency today. I've already been outside to shovel yet another path for my furkids and I'm now suffering the painful effects in my arms and shoulders. That snow is heavy!

It's STILL snowing and they're calling for 4-6 inches today. Now that was the bad news. You said your DD brings groceries Sunday morning. Not only is it not supposed to snow Sunday, but it'll be 34 degrees - a heatwave! LOL So, if we can just get through today, I think we'll be OK. If DD can wait until the afternoon on Sunday, hopefully the roadcrews will have had a chance to clear and treat the roads.

C'mon Spring!!!!!!!!!!!!
