"Don't let it get to you or you'll get really sick"
like I am not REALLY sick already?

"Just face it head on and you'll get through this"
like i have a choice?

"Just keep on living like you dont have it"
what and it will go away or something?

or when someone asks you how you are...you try to start describing something and they jump in with whats wrong with them.........I am so glad I dont have "anything" as bad as many of those around me lol lo...
I am the healthy one...........

Wow....this thread is making me REALLY glad I'm so isolated!!

I don't miss ANY of these stupid sayings or comments from people.

DH is usually trying to get me to rest. He knows how frustrated I am when I'm too sick to do things around the house and he has never rubbed it in.

Now I'm seeing the upside of being so isolated.

Me, too! I'm working from home and my 2 cats are my co-workers. They always say the right thing!!

OHHH I hope no one thought my DH said any of those things to me.
HE WOULD NEVER EVER!!!!!

Those are from family members/friends....
one of them was even said by my 19 year old son in college.

I dont see many people either on a daily basis but I hear it on the phone or from people who I di run into when in say...the gro or something.....

Usually from folks who have no idea what disease I even have...just know "something" is supposed to be wrong with me........

I know . . . . I just hate it when someone says to me "I heard you were sick". Heard what? From who? People are talking about me??? What'd they say?? One of these days I'm going to ask ALL those questions of the person who is unfortunate enough to say "I heard you were sick".

When you do, please come here and post their response. I'm dying to hear it.

Ok thought I'd add a couple of my own...this one I hear regularly from my dear mother......

I know you feel horrible...But you can't give in to it.

If she only knew how much that one statement wants to make me go postal.

OH and another from her....

I hope your husband doesn't just get tired of all of your problems one day and leave you.

For which he would regularly like to go postal!

And My all time trashiest saying........Knocked up!!!

I hate that!! I saw a girl in the store the other day with her husband wearing a shirt that said i'm not fat, i'm knocked up! So I'm thinking ok he's not really your husband he's your john for the night, you're fourteen, and conceived while drunk in his truck at the trailer park?

So tasteless.

Sayings I hate:

"Oh, I have a friend with MS and she doesn't have any problems at all!

"Oh, MS isn't so bad anymore--they have lots of drugs now."

"Just be glad you don't have something worse, like cancer."

And one non-MS-related saying I really hate:

"You'll just have to suck it up!"

If somethings bad, instead of sucking it up, I'd rather blow it out!
