Default guest visitors?????????????

curious there seems to me to be more guest on at times then members? is it cause some are just not signed in as members and are looking at post to see if there is an answer or not,

or are sites such as this and others used for discussions in med classes, or for finding ideas for papers or projects? etc....

have been wanting to ask this for some time, because at night its amazing
lots of folks are on here and only a few are members

I'm not sure Frank...I do think there are probably alot of people looking for answers and they come here and read, thus a visitor. Then when they finally find a reason to 'join' and get a membership to post....they become one of us. I suspect there are more people reading at night as most are home and TV reruns are getting old

Frank,

I think they are aliens! Aliens checking out the culture of this strange planet!

Seriously I know I have checked before without signing in to KEEP me from posting hour after hour! (But I usually don't do that!)

Plus I do believe there are people that check out sites before signing in or just researching for their own info in order to learn about something......

But Frank, the real problem are the ALIENS!!!

guess reading and learning and or finding out about what you are going through then joining makes a lot of sense

alien theory so so would of taken an advance culture of aliens all of 4 hours to figure our culture out

to the guest people

I don't know, Frank, it seems like many, many newbies lurk for any amount of time before they ever register (if they do).

Also, we have a floating of followers who elect not to post here.

Jo, is it a fact that the bots appear as "guest"? I had the distinct impression that they were visible as, say, "google.bot"

This just in: Chemar has kindly answered the question here: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...467#post253467

One of my computers signs me out all the time, so unless I physically log on in order to post, I remain a guest.

It probably happens that way for several others.

it depends on how the preferences are set. some forums set them so all bots show up as say google.bot or yahoo.crawler or different spiders.

on nt..they show up as guests.
